- Today the contractor is installing roof trusses on the pole barn addition. Meanwhile, I have some sickle bar mowing to do with the Farmall H, Hilarie and I move the second batch of broiler chickens out to pasture, and I grill a chicken for dinner.

ou guys work so very well together Pete. Looks like Hillary has you well trained ! LOL !
Very few people would quit a successful architecture job and start farming. You are a unique individual and my hat is off to you!
The guy is super smart. Knows how to rebuild tractors, knows grasses, farm animals, knows how to rebuild clocks, all while also being an architect.
@@eileenfalcon7635 I did the same thing, took early retirement at 55, bought a farm and have not regretted it for one second 🤠
Farming is man's true calling.
Amen mate. My wife said today “boy it has been a busy summer” and it ain’t summer yet!
A betting man says Henry was on the drone ✅️
Coming along very well. It’s obvious you take pride in your farm, and I know you must be over the moon seeing everything getting tidied up and progress made. Thanks for the continued content creation !
Anybody else here jealous of Pete’s cooking? Can’t just be me 🤤
You so a great job editing all these videos and camera angles together. Well done Sir.
Wow, nice seeing the “stuff” being picked up and hauled away. It sure will be easier to mow around your grounds now. The building is coming along just fine. Looking forward to seeing it all once its done.
The overhead shots in this video were simply awesome! We viewers got a great look at the beauty of Just A Few Acres Farm. Loved this episode, as there was so much going on. We've had some of that chicken, and it is incredibly delicious! Thanks for all you do, from a longtime customer! 😊
The barn addition is looking great, and I am loving the drone footage. Great job!
The tractor was humming as the grass was cut and the chicks were so happy. The barn extension is moving fast so Pete is happy and Hillary has the chickens in high gear. Alot happening and it was so enjoyable to see but I missed the cows. Thanks Hillary and Pete, so enjoyable!
Grass mowing’s instant gratification is everything 💚💚💚
Cleaning up and getting rid of all that scrap will be something you will notice and appreciate more than you know!
Love seeing the drone footage along with everything else, thanks!!
Yes the drone footage was a great choice to convey how much work was going on all over the farm.
I love your videos, Pete, you inspired me to start making my own farming channel. I love that you were cooking your chicken for dinner right next to your other chickens. Keep up the good work I love your videos.
The barn addition looks good. Fascinating to watch. Those chickens are growing fast. Good to see all the green.
Pete, you are going to wish you went the full length of the barn with that addition, they are never big enough.
People who grow know that this is the busy time of the year
Pete, who did all the great drone cinematography in this episode? Makes a huge visual difference. Hats off to whoever was in control of that segment!
Summer is almost a month away but it feels like we are off to the races at this point.
Thank you for all the enjoyment you give me
Nothing like a grill roasted, pasture chicken for dinner...Sunday on my family dairy farm, we always did 3 roasted chickens in the wood fire cook stove... always did home made yeast rolls, mashed potatoes, gravey, apple sause, green beans and fresh milk...dessert was sliced fruit and pound cake...loved those dinners❤️❤️❤️
Its nice to see Hillary,, humbly working along with You to get the work done,,,🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hey! I was born in 85....that is "Not a long time." Me and that cooler are brothers from another mother...hahahah Love ya Pete!!
You have the best cooking show on RUclips!
What a blessing that would be to actually work on your farm and watch you at work in your farmall H ,
Pete, You said "Now we're cooking with gas" as you cut grass with the sickle bar mower. Is that a saying from your grandfather? When showing me how to do something my grandpa used to say "Now you're cooking with gas in both burners" when I got the hang of whatever he was teaching me. Thanks for triggering old memories; Planting our potatoes for the year today and grandpa loved potato planting day. And you will be happy to know we used a Farmall C and hiller/cultivator attachments to mark rows and hill the potatoes back in the day.
That camera/drone operator is doing good stuff!
I still love this tractor-sicklebar configuration with the centered front wheels. I don’t understand why they were not popular in the Netherlands and surrounding countries.. I envy you but also enjoy watching you using it to its limits, around poles etc. Thank you for sharing!
It is much easier to plow with regular tractor with wide front axle because you don't have to care about steering.
I love the drive in music at the end!😂
When I was a little boy in the 1950s my haying job at the neighbors was holding the end of the sickle bar while Andy sharpened the knives
Ah for an old fashioned Dump Rake - the cattle would love your freshly cut 'chicken' grass.
That pole barn is moving right along. Everything is growing and getting bigger. Chickens, cows, pigs. Even the orchard grass is growing. Nice and spring is on it's way.
Gawd, I so love what Hillary and you bring to my life 💋💋💋
Geez, another year gone by! The saying is so true, the older you get the faster time goes.
LOVING all the new videos you're putting out! REALLY enjoying seeing the barn addition coming together!
Why do I love watching you cut grass?😂
I think your builder and his son are top notch, the kind of men I would want doing a project for me. 👍😊
TY Pete and Hilarie. Brightened my Sunday morning. Learning a lot about barn building.
Sir I am glad your scrapping the stuff lol. It will give you more room for the great things that are coming to bless you and your family. Your son is getting better at filming and drone flying absolutely wonderful to see Henry doing his part behind the scenes. Pete in the future o hope to send you some surprises for your farm to make your families life easier. Love you guys for sharing only the farm life. You have done a most blessed job of taking care of your family and these skills and knowledge will bless them in the endeavors of their life. I myself am very proud of you and you have been a mentor to me of just slowing down and smell the money (flowers ) ( pig poop ) ( cow poop ). A couple of goats may make easier ( on a leash ) to help with the mowing but good grief those monsters just do a great job too. With love from my family to yours we are very proud to know your family through you and the videos and how you have kept it personable but private. I salute you.
Pete you had my mouth watering when you sliced up that chicken fresh off the BBQ. Looked delicious!
I grown some veges and fruit on a 1/4 acre plot. I have been trialing and killing plants of all varities for 30 plus years at this location. Nearly every 3 to 4 years one neighbour or another would put up a fence cut down a tree or a tall shed changing my yard's environment. I don't waste anything until it is stuffed or totally useless. Grand daughter number 2 came to visit yesterday with her boy friend and he was really happy walking around asking questions and loving my simple way of doing things. All my vege beds are raised so I don't have to bend too far down and because my soil is clay. I have recently made a new one with all the old one mulched up and soaking in blood and bone infused rain water. I will layer wood lumps cardboard green tree clippings and rejuvenated soil from my old bed into the new one this will sit until spring when my onions and corn will start and as the winter crops die off we start again. This young man wants me to get him over to watch my operation finishing the next bed. It is so nice to have this opportunity. They both left with 2 bags of fresh. A taste of things to come.
Just this second had a thought. I might attempt a worm farm for a starter kit for him.
Hi Pete, great video as usual. You and Hilary make a great team which in turn makes a great farm. The barn expansion looks great. You picked an excellent contractor. Have a great weekend. See you next time.
I love the addition of music at the end of your videos! It takes me back to my childhood when TV programming was trustworthy, praiseworthy and enjoyable! Thanks Pete! See you next time!
You sure have a slick system with your chicken operation. Everything is bought, built, paid for and runs like a reliable timepiece thanks to the institutional knowledge you and Hillary have earned. Thank you for sharing "how it works" with the young pups. Enjoy your wonderful dinner. You are wearing shorts - so it MUST be summer :)
Quiet Sunday morning wirh coffee .Just me and my pup watching our favorite RUclips chanel. YES SHE DOES REALLY WATCH TV UPSIDE DOWN.She really the chicken updates .#birddogs#pointercollies
You are truly an amazing person. You have a wonderful wife and a beautiful farm. I am all amazed. Thank you for sharing.
Like seeing the barn addition coming along. Those Cornish crosses really grow fast, we did that a number of years ago and it still amazes me at how fast they grow. That chicken you put in the Weber BBQ grill looked delicious. I hope your weekend was good and you have a nice week. Thanks
I know some people have problems with them because they grow so fast and basically eat themselves to death, but they are money makers! I just with they bred them not for breast meat, but for dark meat!
Barn addition is coming along beautifully
Screwing in the trusses 👍👍 Farmall the Original Zero Turn Mower.
Thanks for the entertainment! I strive to have your demeanor .
Hay Pete thanks for the grass cutting footage. I love that “H”. Big enough to do most jobs, but not at all unruly.
Pete, Hilary thanks for adding the drone to your video arsenal. It gives a great perspective of your farm from the air, it's nice to see the whole lay out now. When can you come to my house and cook a chicken like that for my family! Enjoy your diner and look forward to more videos of the pole barn getting done.
You cut into that chicken and my mouth started watering.
1:00 Oh my! Peter... I thought you might like to grab hottest coals in the grill without burnt your hand!! So confused to us! 😂
My philosophy on pole barns is you can’t have one too big. You may wish you had made that addition the full length of the building. Looking good.
Its amusing watching hilary trying to corral those chickens to the one side of the pin, lol !!
Good old Pete, living his best life, making the farm better, and feeding his community!
Typewriter! Great music for outgoing, loved it today as always. Thanks, Pete and Hillariw!
Yay, more chicks coming out... 🙃
Morning Pete and Hillary i see your getting busy busy busy. Thanks for the video. Barn is coming along great. What a beautiful day.
Good morning. Just to let you know I would gladly watch an hour and a half long video from you.
Pete's putting a lot of truss in these builders.
Busy and profitable is what we wish you. Great expansion and your BBQ chicken looks tasty.
This addition should give you some added space. It would cost much to get a used little skid steer loader. That would take care of all your needs. They are so handy and think of all the fun you would have with it.
good morning! great video! the addition is looking Great and your fields are looking Awesome! Love your videos and farm. Thank You Very Much for sharing your life with everyone! GOD' Bless your whole Family. Amen :)
How nice to hear the H running as sweetly as it does. You have the touch with things mechanical. In my younger years, I restored several older tractors. My favorite was the 1928 Rumely OilPull. It would pull a 3 bottom plow and started on gasoline, then switched to kerosene. When working it, the water injection would use as much water as kero. Good times.
Pete I loved you drove footage. They sure are making good progress on the barn. Thank you for making this video.
Pete, throw the wing my way! I usually eat almost half of the bone..... good thing I don't have a dog, will have to fight me for it 😂. Hugs to you and Hilary 🤗❤️ Have a great week!
Love seeing Amos and Brent!!
Progress looks great Pete. Every
Farm has scrap to deal with. I remember the cauldrons very well.
The addition looks great and I think you have the coolest mower ever!!
We marinated the chicken I bought from you. Tossed it on the grill and viola! It was delicious. The entire chicken taste like chicken spiedies
Happy Sunday! Everything's moving along nicely. Should be done in no time. That chicken looks so good.
Barn addition looks great. Yup, smart work to have your screws already set so your purlins just get dropped and secured. Nice planning with the manlift too for lifting/installing the trusses.
Thanks Pete, always a pleasure.
Pete, I was shocked by how much work you make Hillary do when setting up the electric fence. I wish you all good health and happiness!
Great day to be outdoors!! I’m sure the contractor thought that as well. The chicken on the grill looks pretty good, maybe made the crew hungry!!!
Pete, my husband (who's also named Pete after his dad) are about to start a farm in the New England area. We both love watching you and Hillary work together because that's what we do best! He's a mechanic (diesel currently employment wise) & he loves working on everything. We always love when we find out we have more in common! This is our favorite channel! Please don't ever stop posting because we watch every single video you post!
Thanks for all the videos. My family love your humor while doing all your chores. You guys are really busy! Hope you enjoy your new shed!
Hello Pete another fantastic video the new barn is looking great
I remember seeing some of your first vids and how you end up having to clip in front of those chicken and how your cattle are picky and don’t knock everything down in whichever pasture they were in and it made me think you should get sheep and however many year’s later it’s been still thinking you should get sheep… would be a great value add with minimal extra effort and almost no additional infrastructure needed. That is hair sheep of course not fiber. Best wishes.
Grew up watching a old red farmall tractor thank you. Mr Jim for letting me help on your farm. 1960s
This is a great project. Thanks for the updates.
Like your choice of layer chicks, I stopped with leghorns a couple years ago. I don’t heat my coup in the winter but there is a light on a timer and in the winter I found that the leghorns didn’t produce like the heavier breeds. It was obvious as they were the only white egg layer I had.
Thanks for your channel, I only started watching you a few months back when I got close to buying my own few acres (Deal settled we move in June 12th) mainly to get ideas about what is possible. I see chickens whethers and steers in my very near future :)
Our new place is only 4 acres of grazing so a pretend farm compared to yours but while its in a great location with a very nice house the land has issues which that mower would be useful for. The previous owners for no doubt genuine reasons took animals off the land a year ago so the grass has grown wild and fallen over also lots of weeds it needs a mow and reseed (or maybe a large number of animals for a short time to eat and trample the existing) then a short rest before I reseed and bring on my own animals. Anyway I am in for allot of learning and work two of my favorite things :)
Pete, I always enjoy your videos. Short story, we raised broilers when we had an acreage years ago. I ordered 25 leghorn roosters because I misunderstood my dad that those would be a good meet bird. I had to raise them twice as long to get a bird 1/2 of the weight. I gave up and had them butchered and yes only used them for stew meet.
Your certainly a true American character !
Love the drone shot, Pete. If that was the kids idea you have pay them more! 😂😂
Pete that chicken looks so yummy.🐓❤ and barn extension is so nice. See you next time.
Imagine living on this farm, best post-workout food you can get!.
Been watching quite a few of your videos lately and enjoying what you do on the farm. I usually watch videos from a farm family out in Nebraska where they plant corn and soybean. Watching you on your farm shows me a different style of farming.
Great video ty for showing the build as it goes and that chicken looked fantastic say hi to all the family
Things are coming along 😊those chicken grow really fast I had no idea
Hello Pete and Hilary. I Love the farm and the new builds. I can see the new chickens like it also. The new lay out I feel has been on your mind for years. I have that same Weber BBQ, bought one 2002 and though we have a propane BBQ I gravitate to the briquettes. and wood chips. For some reason I feel like chicken for dinner.
The drone shots are great, by the way!
This was the perfect dinner video. I ate Chicken while to cooked one!
Hi Pete! Great video. Brings back memories of driving my grandpa's Farmall H when I was a kid. He had a sickle bar mower just like yours, I was to young to cut the field with it but drove the tractor a bunch. Miss that old H. Your barn is looking great! Take care, stay safe and healthy!
You could have a pretty decent rain water collection system with that roof line!!!
Just wanted to let you know, I enjoy your videos. I'm always looking forward for the next video to be uploaded
Looking good. Upgrades are nice. I’m building a new loafing shed this summer.
