There's something special listening to cowbells in the distance on Christmas morning. It sounds more festive somehow.

I shipped B milk for cheese. I shipped in cans till I put a tank in. There are a lot of cheese factories in our area. Christmas morning it drove the kids crazy because we had to milk before we could open presents.

The shot in the barn from under the cow with the milker on really transported me back to when I was growing up and to those years when I milked my own cows.

I live in Central Michigan and remember Christmas Day in 1982 it was 64 degrees, for us that was the warmest Christmas in history, we played golf that day.

Enjoy the Christmas music on the radio too. 98.3FM WTRY (Albany, NY) will start playing Christmas tunes, all the old ones I remember as a kid. They start after Thanksgiving and to New Years. Puts you in a good mood! yeah was same wx here too, now (Jan 17) been cold (14 at night, 20s in day) so yeah been an odd Dec.

I like milk. I love cheese. Worked at dairy factory for 16 years & loved it! Quality assurance, pathogen surveillance, instrument calibration. Market milk, cheddar cheese, lactose & whey powders, skim & full cream milk powders -a big factory with 3 million litres of milk on the peak intake days. I'm from the state of Victoria, Australia and I Iike watching your farm activities. 😊

It is great to be reminded of the warmer weather we experienced on Christmas, although I would have like it to be colder with some snow on the ground. You guys have been busy with driving to get the sawmill and everything in between.
We eat our share of dairy products, especially ice cream, Butter Pecan is our favorite.
Just a side note: when my dad worked at a dairy bottleling plant, he showed me a piece that looked like a good sized candy kiss was wasn't really that big, made up of extremely packed together small wire. Said it was used in the homogenizer and that all of the milk ran through it. I thought it was cool, Merry Christmas and Happy cold New Year. It is 3 degrees here at 11:30 in the evening. Got to love the weather.

It was warm here in N.E.PA. that I saw two Lilics bushes bloomed again! No kidding, I saw them! One was with white flowers, the other purple! we had a dipped in the milk house, My kids & nieces & nephews use to get on a stool, raise the lid, and get a drink of milk. The agitator was in the lid, well SOMEBODY, we don't know who dropped the dipper in the tank, didn't tell anyone, closed the lid and to dipper was under the agitator so when it ran it turned the dipper and it scored the bottom of the tank. How did we know, when the tank was empty, and we were going to wash it. No more getting milk out of the tank!

Love what you guys do and how on top of everything you seem. Is there any particular brand of cheese or yogurt or dairy we should be on the look out for in stores? I prefer 2-5 year cheddars that are almost too sharp but even cottage cheese is fine. Or maybe you could put together merch packages if the cheese from your milk is only sold local up there you could air mail us a lb of cheese curds and a hat for the freshest poutine or two 8oz blocks of cheddar or mozzarella and a quart of raw milk(for pets or decoration only) with a hoodie and mark it up a bit

The farm I worked on the agitator kept the milk moving past the cooling jacket so there wasn't temperature gradients throughout the tank. Had nothing to do with cream separating. Besides who cares if it separates, it all gets pumped out into a truck. Otherwise love your farm and your channel. Merry Christmas!!!

I have really enjoyed seeing the dairy side of things more these last few videos. A few months back I started watching another channel of a dairy farm that uses a tie stall barn, it's quite interesting to see the differences and similarities of how you both do things.
Around here, I have only really been around beef cattle, which is similar yet rather different in many ways, it sure seems like a different work load between the 2. :)

It's a very nice video. Pardner, cold is pipes freezing 6 feet underground running water from the house to the barn on a Michigan farm in the early 60s. Michigan State (MSU) carries the best ice cream. The MSU Dairy Store's Anthony Hall location is best dairy store. Look them up. I've always thought that Wisconsin dairy was overrated.

When you say it is Christmas and I see this video on Jan 16 it disappoints me. Would you please keep your content more up to date. A lot of the very successful you tuber are almost day to day. Just saying don't be lazy. If not your channel will see a decline in viewers, I know I am not the only one!
