Jimi Never Used Barr Chords cause his HANDS WERE 10& 1/2" LONG.FREAKISHLY LONG. From his wrist to the tip of the middle finger., look it up.His thumb was his barr chord.

Nice lesson .. good camera work easy to see what the left hand was doing . you might consider split screen sometime for some things as often what the other hand is doing is often just as important . Older viewer's & I mean much older may be familiar with the Two Girls who during the 60' & 70's used to follow famous bands around & they made plaster casts & then models of many musicians ehm ? shall we say Parts ? While this may be of interest to some I would have been happier if they had also made models of Hands .. even a trace around .. As a smaller person with smaller Hands .. who says size isn't everything .. I mean Django only had two fingers & his thumb .. But the point is I have shaken Eric Clapton's Hand & I can tell you have no trouble using the thumb over techniques that Jimi & SRV used .. John Mayer also has large hands .. Now as we all know some people can still manage to play very well with small hands .. But I do think that it should be mentioned especially for younger or new players that it is possible to get around playing just like Jimi .. & use part or 'Shell ' chords .. to get something like the same sound .. Jimi had a way of playing partial chords that is not readily available to all . Although the gr8 & lovely Ayla Tesler-Mabe manages to do some Gr8 Hendrix stuff . Just a thought / suggestion .. I know Julia looks small But she has Long fingers . I am just an old dude with arthritis who used to be able to play better .. But old age can bring some unwelcome visitors & not always assured wisdom .. if at all . I hope you get a laugh from this comment as I intended it to be funny ? & not too serious .. Usually the songs on Hit the Tone are not super difficult technically speaking, the difficult part is the tone itself and the way you play it, not the technique as much. On Impulse is difficult in both ways! hahaha But as a "in the long run" video, I thought it could be an interesting one! :D
A germanium fuzz face with the volume knob turned down on your guitar to like 7 to 9 ish works to get that clean w/ grit sound for that song. I do that going to a blues breaker pedal into a Princeton. It does close enough for a cover band or a bedroom.
