We have one in our town at the airstrip used for Vancouver Parachute Centre, its all painted in camo! Great side door for jumpers at 10,000 feet where it goes into a steep dive and is on the ground in no time! The visibility is awesome. Close the door from 8,000 feet, keep your hands away!

On the left side of the pilot seat is a tail wheel lock handle. Should be ON during takeoff and landing. Find that out after one or two botched takeoffs! :)
Well done, an informative and entertaining video. I'm a casual simmer here in the state of Virginia, U.S. who also likes GA aircraft. The Q8Pilot channel is certainly a bright spot on the internet. Great first impressions! I had a lot of fun with this aircraft yesterday using the excellent Quatam River scenery, which has some challenging airstrips and landing areas. With a little bit of practice you can land it on a very short airstrip or cleared landing area. Great for bush flying!

A family member of mine took a ride in this plane for a skydiving run. He said the pilot would put the plane on the ground before the jumpers landed near the strip. Insane plane.

PC6 is the king of stol aircrafts and you can make the flare with an incredible steep flare. To study manual and looking at its unique caracteristic would be good idea. There are several ones at my airport ( swiss military and civil) and their take off and landings are spectacular. It deserve a much better rewiew. Well done Thranda.

Hi I have a question, why does the plane always tend to run off the runway when I land or use the reverses when I have the Locktailt on? Help :(
I just recently heard about this plane being finished so I saw this late. But ya I've spun out landing tail draggers in X-plane soo many times lol. I've found that you pretty much just want to 3 point most of them when you can wich helps a lot.
Is there a group of enthusiastic Thranda Porter pilots that fly it as a virtual airline on VATSIM/FSCLOUD/TEAMSPEAK (or just a group of new friends). Would be nice to fly together the difficult airports/dirt strips etc. Oh and I bought this PC-6 ;-)

I want to buy this plane so bad, as it is literally the reason for my internet name, but I can't. I kept seeing RW and people saying tailwheel lock, I've flown taildraggers with and without tailwheel locks in RL. However, X-Plane handles taildraggers so terribly, even now, that I'm bummed as I never fly them in XP. That is one of the FEW areas that FSX had XP beat into the floor. At least you could fine tune a taildragger to act realistically with good rudder pedals in FSX.
Your botched landing wasn't really a lack of a tailwheel lock, as you started to lose control before rear wheel touchdown. This is just XP's bad flight dynamics for taildraggers. Yes, before you send me hatemail, RUclips viewers, I know that XP has far far superior dynamics. However, it falls critically short in taildragger physics. Sorry, that ain't how taildraggers handle.

Hi. How do thandra planes compare to their rivals? I've seen Carenado also makes a cessna caravan for instance.
Thranda is somewhat better than Carenado. The lead developer of Thranda is former Carenado developer, but he takes the time to make most of addons worthwhile in my view.
X-Plane *really* needs to fix the ground friction.
I think I forgot to lock the tail wheel and hence the skidding.
