@@Adventurous4Life Any that are badly broken, I knap the shards into arrowheads. Glass can be knapped like flint, and blue glass makes excellent heads. 🤙
@@Adventurous4Life I've not long started out, working obsidian and bottle glass mostly. I get cut to pieces too from stray shards, so lots of bandaids 🤣
Lovely results Obviously you need safety glasses and dust mask on when you're doing this. And that was a cordless Dremel you used under running water, wasn't it?😊
Very, very cool and a super idea for those ones that would otherwise be tossed. Need to give it a try, once I go back and find the broken top ones I tossed. LOL! Thanks for sharing guys! Cheers, Andrew.
You may know this already but incase you dont. You can sharpen those diamond blades if they start chipping bad or not cutting as good. Take you a piece of concrete and run it across the part with diamonds while its running or grinding stone or concrete board like james hardie. Basicalls cleaning off the diamonds and or grinding off the steel and exposing new diamonds
Once these blades are done they are done lol! They shink a good quarter inch or more! They are only 6" blades. Once they get too small they are useless 😄 they are cheaper blades but work and last quite long!
good job, buddy... but I gotta say, you scared me there for a split second when I saw that hoodie string hanging above the saw blade there while you turned it on ...
Lol ya 😂 didn't mean to have that on. But I always ware my safety glasses when using any of my tool and respirator while sanding so I dont breath in glass lol!
If you dont own anything at all to get started it's expensive yes. I already owned most tools so for me no. If you are buyimg everything new it would be over 200$. You'd want to try getting tools second hand or at a yardsale!
I just found this I was wondering what all the steps would be to make a broken bottle into a drinking glass that's safe to use thanks so much!
No problem man! Here's a updated video showing the steps a bit better if you're interested too! 😄 ruclips.net/video/43FrnugUEko/видео.html
Nicely done! I built myself a flat lap grinder to do the same. Takes a bit of the elbow grease out of it.
Lol yep! Ive since improved my set up just a bit 😄 any hand sanding you can avoid is always nice 😄
Great! I have a wet saw and a belt sander. I hope that Dremel is plugged into a GFCI outlet.
Ohhh yes it is lol! Anything I use near the sink is! Just run water over the glass to keep it cool and not accidentally flash crack the glass!
That's absolutely awesome 👍 WOW very nice video Awesome bottle's 👍 Be safe 👍🙏👍 very nice Finds
Thanks! Lots more cups to cut that's for sure! 😄
I love upcycling/recycling! Saving those beautiful old bottles that would otherwise be tossed away! Good job, Adam!😊💖
Thanks! Ya most of them where already left behind by other diggers frkm years ago! Thought I'd turn them into somthing that would be used again!

No problem! Great to help people out trying to save old glass!
Nice! Have you tried putting them through the dish washer? If so have you had any crack doing it?
I hand wash these glasses! I dont even want to try running them through the dish washer lol! They would most likely crack I'd think due to the heat!
@@Adventurous4Life lol, I hear ya! Wouldn't want that hard work to go to waste. Thanks for sharing this!
was neat! good job Adam👍
Thanks! Just takes some time. Once it's all said and done takes about 30 to 45 minutes per glass!
worth the effort☺ and a pretty cool re-use👍
@@jsteelsadventureandvariety4545 agreed lol! If you find anything broken in your travels I can make a cup for ya!
cool vidieo i needed it they go for 8 bucks a piece
Thanks, I normally sell them around $12-15 CAN each depending on the bottle! 😄
