Awesome thanks man!! 😄😄 we got digging videos every Friday and a series called Monday Mondays every Monday. Jay bought a bunch of bottles backed in boxes from the 1970s guy's. So just loads of bottles being featured! Hope to see you around more, thanks for the Sub!!! 😄😄
Hey hey my family is from Espanola, Ontario. Elk Lake Ontario was our place to be every summer! I now live in Saint John New Brunswick Canada and crazy enough I bottle hunt for some of the oldest bottles in Canada in the oldest incorporated city in Canada. I love what you do with the bottles you find and I hope to learn from you how I can cut sand and upcycle the bottles I'm finding here. They are in some rough shape, some of them. So glad I found your channel!!
Awesome! Any bottles saved and upcyled is great. They look so cool as cups on display, or place holders. Hope the cutting goes well for ya! Once you do a few you get the hang of it, the end result is well worth it! 😄
Take a propane torch to the rim of the glass. After you're done grinding with the Dremel. It makes the rim smooth and more clear. It gets rid of the frosted look from sanding. Try it, works and looks great.👍☮️
Interesting... Idk if i can trust the glass with a torch hough in my hands lol! Sounds like if you heat it up wrong the glass with shock and crack! 😄 I might pass on it but if done right it would probably look sweet!
@@Adventurous4Life You slowly heat the glass up in a oven before you use the torch on it. I've only ever had one crack on me. I've been doing it for twenty years or more.👍☮️
Great idea! I use a flat lap to get them smooth as it uses wet/dry sand paper. I'd love to figure out how to do the propane torch way...please let me know if you find a video for that. Many thanks!!! Love these videos!!!
@@abacavip6426 I don't know of a video. I figured it out watching a girl blow glass. When she wanted to make a edge smooth she used a torch. I put the bottles in my oven and bring them up slowly to the highest heat. Then I take the propane torch and move it around the rim of the glass. You'll see when it becomes slick and shiny. It removes that frosted look that's nearly impossible to get smooth enough with grinding tools. Hope this helps.👍☮️
The Berlin bottle was sweet eh 😄😄 Thank goodness I also have a full one lol! Now I got the cup to go with it 😄 felt like bringing everyone along for another cutting video and definitely 2 sweet bottles to film!
Wow that's awesome 👍 very nice you might have to turn your volume up a little didn't hear you that good awesome video wow like the bottle's for glass 👍👍👍
Good to hear!! 😄😄 there's a few more members Im gonna be making cups for too in a bit as a thanks as well! Glad you like them! They are each literally one of a kind!! 😄😄
awesome job Adam, was an interesting watch 👍 and thanks very much for cutting my Taylor and Pringle for me🙂 love it, and i think I will drop in to pick out a few cut downs soon..
Thanks J 😄 might make a few more videos like rhis cutting some of the really cool ones. Or making some of the different med and chemical bottles into different things! Just fun putting together a video lol 😄 And glad you like the T&P glass! Sorry about the small lip crack, antique bottles have a mind of there iwn half the time lol 😄😄
Yes indeed! Ive actually made a few candles in them. Just have to warm up the glass first before pouring any hot wax, can shock and shatter the glass if u dont! 😄😄
Yep 😄😄 Just felt like putting another video together cutting the Berlin and Reinhardt bottles. They were 2 really nice looking ones! They really turned out sweet also!! And why not give a few more tricks on how others can do it to while I was at it 😄😄😄
Have you made more since the ones you showed me a while ago? Would love to see how others turn out if u have! 😄 That's the best thing about these videos, can be used as a started guide and others can make there own adjustments to the process how they like! 😄 First starting to cut bottles I couldn't find much on different methods so had to think of different methods. Upside-down belt sander is a 10/10 LOL 😄😄 I think you gotta be a bit crazy for this hobby lol!!!
@@Adventurous4Life hey friend of mine who runs and all orientations sex positive feminist sex toy store showed a bunch of product called “ Butt plugs” (like, is that the preferred name?) and I realized that is what the insulators most resemble. But they’re made of glass with little chips in them! Like, the worst thing ever! Now, I love them more. When I unpack them in a new apartment, they are going right in the window to catch the light!
Thank you! I finally can just throw away the bandages now that I know the proper way of making a cup out of an old bottle. Bashing it over and over with a hammer was just not working! It also would not hold water.
I love these! I crazy stupid love these! Some of the ones with interesting, non-cylindrical shapes you suggested were destined to be pencil holders. I don’t have that many pencils. And the lettering is so interesting, why not find a way to make it more visible? Would it work to coat the interior with opaque, solid color epoxy? That way, the lettering would be more legible? They could serve well as planters or vases.
Excellent video ! Hey where my Molded Monday video ? LOL Hey man you got something really going on there ! How much would you charge me to cut and smooth some bottle for me when i have some ? Here another ideal for you, take you a card table or a small table and display some of the bottles you have cut out in front of your home along the road, of course you would have to be around or go out to a major highway or interstate intersection and setup and try to sale some that way maybe passing tourists will stop and buy from you. I know i would.
Lol, Moldy Monday will be back next week 😄😄😄 And based on just the time it takes to cut these would be $10-15 for a soda. About an hour or 45 minutes per glass. As for the sales on the side of the road might take a while to sell some lol! But i used to sell them online just closed the shop as I dont have enough time to run the store and work full time!
Tripod is definitely corrert! And it all depends on what tile saw you own too for the correct size! 😄 I haven't noticed any difference using a 50$ blade vs. a 20$ blade. I also personally use the cheaper blades!
If you're talking about finding broken bottles yes indeed lol. Even if I find broken ones i still get excited as I can make sweet glasses outa them!! 😄
I love your collection. I'm obsessed with old glass and now I know what I'm doing with the broken bottles.
Thanks 😄😄 Hope you can turn your broken ones into some awesomeglasses now!
I watched adventure archeology and he said to visit your channel Glad I did I subscribed and I'll watch a lot more

Great video and well done! Best plan for cutting bottles !

Great video, great idea for repurposing the old broken bottles. 👍
Thanks! I didnt come up with the idea but I cane up with my own way of doing it 😄😄 They turn out really well once they are done! Just takes a while!!

I love your insulators!!! I started collecting those for I learned what they were! Doesn’t the shape make you laugh?
Lol thanks 😄😄 They are interesting for sure, you should see the shape if some of them lol, interesting to say the least lol!!

Great job.
Are they safe for drinking?
Just give them a good wash and you're all set to use em, ya. Just dont put hot liquids into them. It will crack the old glass!
Can I buy one?
Broken Coke bottles make great shot glasses .
The US straight sides do for sure! The Canadian ones not so much! All the embossing it on the neck, unless its a Newliskard Coke!
What's the bests saw blade for this process?
home depot has tons....the QEP 7-inch Glass Tile Diamond Blade for Wet Tile Saws is priced at $20 per blade but doesn't ware down much

I take your cup u gave me out on digs and use it for refreshing drinks I have footage I still have to put up
Lol awesome Dare... I mean Willy lol 😄😄 that sounds like a funny watch too 😄
Isn’t there lots of lead in vintage glass?
Lead, no. Just gotta be careful about glass/rock dust. Not good for the lungs lol 😄
so cool send me one plz
Lol 😄😄 I think im going to have to do a giveaway with some soon!
kinda blows the HALF FULL/HALF EMPTY saying right outta the water

Do you wear a mask?
When wet cutting somtimes as the theres no dust, but sanding, yes. I recommend a mask then as it generates lots of dry glass dust!
