This car had 17% of Ford Mondeo parts. 83% was all Jaguar. It's strange how everyone is always calling this "Mondeo" when actually the Lincoln Continental-based S-Type had much more Ford than X-Type ever had. This was very underrated car. With AWD and 3.0 engine it was a great ride. Especially in winter.
Totally agree... I own 2 X types as for me they are still one of the best cars i've owned or driven. People tease me about the mondeo stuff.... I just say, could you please point to those parts please. LOL! they tend to shut right up.
These are some of the best buyers guide videos out there.
Just bought a 2007 2.2 diesel x type with 33k miles & full jag service history. Absolutely love the car! So comfy & high spec & looks the business in black with the cream leather interior. Great looking car for next to nothing in cost.
The Ogg Monster I got a 3.0 04 xtype got some new 20”rims on it love my jag 😭💯💯❤️has some good power to it aswell
How's it holding up?
how's going on now? I also bought a 2.2 diesel auto with 70k km
The reason why there aren't many diesels on the market has nothing to do with a problem, quite the opposite. The people that own them almost never sell them. The 2.0 or 2.2 diesels, you're driving a jag and getting decent mileage. Why would you sell? I have an '02 2.5 V6 SE. Get 30 mpg which is fine, the luxury, high spec, features, for what was a budget car, can't be beaten. I bought mine when it was 8 yrs old with just 15,000 miles, all dealer serviced, spotless, for less money than Dacia Sandero! There are other low mileage cars if you look for them.
Hello Sean, I'm a student and I'm considering to buy a 2005 Jaguar X type 2.0L (132000kms)as my first car in Western Australia. I don't know anything about this old type at all,but it just took my breath away when I tried it today. Do you have any advice or suggestions about which part should I inspect more deeply, thank you so much!
I’ve just bought a 2007 2.2 diesel with 33k on the clock. Absolutely love this car.
totally agree... The X type has been one of my most loved cars yet. I now own 2 of them. My baby is my 2005 2.5 SE, she has the full set of toys too. ok so she's pushing 15... but like any well treated lady they age beautifully!
I have a 2009 2.2 Jaguar Sovereign. Black, with black leather interior. It has done only 80,000, and I was thinking of changing the car, but after much consideration I have decided to keep it. A great car, looks and drives great, with all the toys you expect from a top of the range car, such as heated seats, cruise and climate control, all electrics and sat nav.. A good all round British car
So glad the closed captions are translated... This buyer's guide is better than anything available in native English.
Weird how his language sounds so similar to English with inflections and everything else. Makes sense though, both Germanic based languages.
good video ..was looking for some basic info on the X type and found it...
Don't cry it's got subtitles at least.
I don't understand the critics this car is getting because it is based on a Ford Mondeo. That can only be a good thing, the Mondeo Mk 2 was one of the best cars in its class.
When I see Mondeo mk3 breaking for parts I can hardly imagine which spares can I buy for my X-type.
It's times like this I wish I had paid more attention at dutch language school....
Wait, are there country’s where they are giving Dutch language?
These older Jaguar Sedan's looked similar to the Bentley's and these older Jaguar Sedan's could be cheaper than a Bentley and why save up money for a Bentley when you can get an older Jaguar Sedan for way cheap
This is a good lay-out of the goods and bads. The thrifty Dutch have sense.
I got a 2007 I wanna buy. The engine sounds weird. Could you help me so I offer according to espectations?
It's aluminum.
What's wrong with it using a Mondeo chassis? That was a damn good chassis and is actually a plus.
I think they did a great job, making it permanent AWD with the Mondeo chassis with 60% going to the rear wheels, I can't say that about Volvo..
[nice, looking jaguar.]👍
Sounds as if you played a English video in reverse.
this language made me laugh xDDD
welke duitse site noemt hij nou?
spritmonitor . de
Jag ❤️
Jammer dat er niets word gezegd over de handbak V6 benzinemotor uitvoering 😢
Inderdaad goede auto, 2.5 en 3.0 V6 hebben permanente AWD met 60% van de kracht naar de achterwielen
I liked this video. 3 RUclips video hosts have put the X-Type on the list of top 5 worst luxury cars to get. Personally I don't agree. I don't believe it's such a terrible car, just not all that good compared to other Jags of its time. From all the subtitles I read in this vid., it sounds like the guy in this admitted that there's still a batch of things that could go wrong with an X-Type. I was disappointed that it turned out to be another compact car instead of an actual sports sedan, which Jaguar 1st had in mind for it as it wanted to get back to making more true sports like it used to before the 1970s as well as what they have been making lately. I guess it was a matter of finances that prevented them as not enough X-Types were made with standard transmissions which should've been offered on an Type Sport. And the F-Type got put on hold for another 10 years. So perhaps the real home run of 2000-09 was the '03-'08 XJ8 with its extensive aluminum counterparts.
They're only on the list of worst cars because the sales figures fell flat and they were one of the first major brands to platform share which was seen as a bad thing at the time even though everyone does it now. The actual car itself is very competent, has good handling and in diesel form very economical. I own an X type and a Mercedes A Class. The A Class steers sharper but the X handles much better.
@@nudisco300 Nice. I live in the states, where there never were any 2.7 L Diesels sold. What years did they make the Diesel, anyway. I ran across an ECU remapping device seller in the U.K. that was advertised to sell those devices for the '04-'08 generation XJ8s and XJs with that diesel motor. But once I ordered and received it, I found out that the device will not support my XJ8 because it's a 2004. That just raises the question why it's still advertised to work on a 4.2 L V8 of the X350 generation. But yeah, a Jaguar is something that I could end up with 3 or 4 of, if I had all the money in the world.
@@kevinhabener1279 The diesels were 2003 - 2009, but were never sold in the US but it was 2.0 and 2.2. There was no 2.7 diesels, they didn't come until the XF :)
Klikt niet echt positief
En toch, elke keer als ik deze auto op de weg zie moet ik aan een Rover denken eerst..

In English would help
Dutch is one of the oddest sounding language's! honestly I was laughing my ass off listening this guy talk about this Jaguar.
What's really funny is to people who don't speak English we sound just as wierd! Dutch sounds like a hodgepodge of German, French, Chinese
and drunkard all blended together!
Dutch is without a doubt one of the worst languages in the world, it sound angry and evil, something like klingon.
zo, vind jij dat? lazer ff snel op, malloot
"Also a lot of Hollanders now use English words to express themselves because Dutch has a limited amount of words in their vocab"...
This is such BS... many words in English have actually been derived from Dutch... History. Look it up.
@Perpetual Expat It doesn't make them look like Holland, twerp.
Aluzcz without doubt you got no reason to judge our language. Go and watch videos in other languages that don't bother you.
