Yeah they are all brilliant examples of Hammer Horror Paul 👏 ill definitely be checking the ones I haven't seen or haven't seen for a while soon 🤩🤩👍👍 thanks for checking the video out mate 😊😊👌👌
Great video John, I have seen either these on VHS or TV, used to as a young boy, when mum and dad go out watch these, stay up late. Then later bought the ones I could on DVD, have made a note of ones I need and will buy shortly. The scars of Dracula you know was the goriest of any hammer/Dracula film done by Roy ward baker, and Christopher Lee complained about the white pasty makeup. Plague of the zombies, they should have done more, when the one zombie eyes the girl at the mill, those eyes, like you say evil dead. Dracula prince of darkness, you know, that was first time audiences had ever seen a staking, it was by farther (Andrew Keir), stakes Barbara Shelley. Classic. Great great video John, love it. Thank you. :)
Cheers Jamie, thanks for these comments 🤩🤩👍 if I was down at my grandparents at the weekend I would sneak back downstairs and have these on with the sound right down and the lights off as to not rouse suspicion.....only thing was that it made to movie 10 times more scary 😵💫🤩🤩 totally agree with you on how creepy the Zombies were and they should have have made more definitely 👌👌 didn't know that about the staking!! Must have been pretty wild for the 60s!! 😲🥴🤩 cheers again Jamie 😊😊👍👍

Hi, I have just noticed on the tv channel "LEGEND" at 9pm tonight [ Tues 15th ] is the movie " The Driver" starring Ryan O'Neal. I know you were interested in getting the dvd later ...so I thought you would like to know. Regards Jim
I got a box set of studio canal Hammer films in my local charity shop the other day it’s got six films. Horror of Frankenstein Blood from the mummies tomb Straight on til the morning Fear in the Night Demons of the mind To the Devil a Daughter The woman in the shop let me have them for £2.20 best bargain I’ve had in a long time.
@@MondoChelloveckMovies I think the Indicator releases are doing a great job though. They have excellent bonus content on them as well. I recently grabbed the box set containing Shadow Of The Cat, Phantom Of The Opera, Captain Clegg, and Frightmare. All four are excellent discs. Hard box and booklets as well, also reversible covers.
Apparently, Indicator haven't got enough Hammer titles left to produce any further box sets. Sony and Indicator have parted company, ever since the Ishtar debacle, so it seems like more niche films like Rolin and Mexican horror is the future, plus titles like Noir. I was never a fan of Rolin, and some of the Mexican horror are lacklustre at best.
I agree Stephen 🤩🤩👍👍I've slept on a lot of Indicator Hammer movies....I think I mistakenly thought that Studio Canal would have brought the same ones out but they haven't and I need to pick up some great titles for my Hammer collection 🤩🤩👍👍 the presentations of those box sets are second to non mate 😊😊👏👏
Good info Dr 🤩🤩👍👍there is only a finite amount of Hammer movies out there so it was bound to happen sometime, big dip in quality from Hammer to Rolin though 🤯🤣🤣 I can Noir working out for them....love indicator box sets though 🤩🤩👍👍
You need to give the Hammer Dracula’s a rewatch as the only one in which Christopher Lee didn’t talk was DPOD. He snarls, hisses and… speaks in DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE and TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA which both came before SCARS. As for Lee refusing to speak any of the dialogue that was something of a white lie from Lee since Jimmy Sangster didn’t write one word of for Dracula. The film or the character doesn’t have any less impact because of it either as it’s up there with the best of Hammer horror. If Christopher Lee’s argument held any water, he would not have spoken at all in TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA. As good as that film is, ‘the firssssst’ and all that nonsense is a bit cringe. It was in the script though so out came the words.
Great info Amicus, I always thought that Lee just wasn't happy with playing Dracula so he kind of did what he had to do and nothing else, Taste the Blood is fantastic and I do need to watch them again as its been about 3 years since we had a marathon with them (and Frankenstein) 🤩 cheers Amicus 😀😀👍👍
I’m biased of course as nothing tops the enjoyment I get from classic Hammer but if you have a season of DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN films you’ll have an absolute blast. Funnily enough, for all DRACULA is my all time favourite Hammer film, it’s the FRANKENSTEIN series I prefer overall. Cushing as the Baron - there’s no one like him. It’s only FRANKENSTEIN CREATED WOMAN where he’s wasted (even though the film itself is excellent) whereas Lee as Dracula isn’t given anywhere near enough to do in some of the sequels. Heck, even in DRACULA he’s barely in it but boy does he make his limited screentime count and as for SCARS, if you’re an exploitation movie lover like we are, wow! What a joy! The naysayers can band together and slag it off till their hearts content. Waterman and Hanley are *meh* but Lee and Pat Troughton are incredible. There’s moments to enjoy in even the worst of Hammer and thankfully most of these StudioCanal releases have more classics than otherwise.
Superb Hammer Horror classics! Plague of the Zombies is one of my favourites

Yeah definitely Gary 👍👍
Don't forget branigan 4k is out on Monday bfi 😊
Another classic 🤩🤩
Shame Arrow never kept going with Hammer releases, started and ended with The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Good call Rob 👏👏 yeah I thought that was the start of something great!! Imagine a box set of Hammer by Arrow!! 😲😲🤩🤩 cheers Rob 😊😊
