Great tip on using a mood board. It's always weird when a photographer's like, "I want to take pictures of you" but you have no context on what they're trying to go for.
Hi Faye, I am a university student and also a semipro photographer and I would like if that is possible a video dedicated on client booking. You know the whole process and also the tip with the mood board how we can decide it. Thanks for your time ✌️❤️ peace out 🇬🇷
I always like pinterest for moodboards, you can even invite your model onto a board you've already created. That way you can let them in on the creative process beforehand. I like it particular for that reason cause it makes it so much more feel like a team effort.
I also tend to scroll down to my latest photos after I imported them. 😂 When you start shooting you’re really getting in the flow and the shots turn out better or more creative indeed 🔥🤙🏼
Love this! I do my instagram from my camera feed like you said here. Makes it’s so much easier! And you can see what you’ve posted and what’s next. Blessing! Happy new year.
Tip, your sound is a little flat. Buy a Tascam DR-10L it is pretty cheap and is seperate from your camera so fits in your pocket. Used for weddings. You record your voice seperate and line up the sound in post. You can use a clap. Much simpler than a mic on the camera, soinds better and smaller to use. Good luck with your channel. 👍
There are tips I have considered my self a lot of times and I because I am programmer I am trying to unite all the different apps you use into one platform and much more ... Loved the video mood.
The moodboard/organisation tool I use is Milanote you create mood boards, notes/to-do's, gear list, who's involved in the shoot etc etc it's such a great tool for organising shoots, you can then share it with all who is involved :) oh and it's free
Thanks for share your flow 🙌🏻 I also start with my camera some month ago and now I wanna create an flow that will work for me. Iam more focusing on video creation but I also want to do some photography too :) The moodboard will be an good addition to my progress :)
Very interesting video, great tips. You can share a collection from LrC to lightroom mobile, send a weblink and then the person receiving the link can comment on the photos and I think like them too - this goes directly back into LrC - it can be a handy workflow, I’m a little rusty on how it works as I’ve not used it in while, last time I used it was for an Australian bride & groom and I was in the uk doing the editing.
Great video as always! Please make a vid how you color grade your footage, I love the colors!!! Also how do you achieve the blurry vignette effect, it is very interesting?
Great video! I want to know after the client favorites the photos that they want, do you just then re import those to lightroom or do you delete the ones they didn't like to just keep the others?
Good question! Pixieset gives you the option to download the files names of the selected photos. You can then paste this list in your Lightroom library, and then the selection is ready for you to edit. Hope this makes sense! :)
Do you ever mess around with the whitebalance setting of your camera? if so when and where? Personally I don't do it and just make those adjustments while editing but I've seen Chris do it in a couple of videos and was wondering if you know any benefit of doing so. Also love the "Doei doei" at the end, cant help but make me smile 😄
Hahaha doeeeii! Yes I play around with my white balance as well, bc of doing this, I can already see in which direction I want to take the edit. And when I photograph for clients, it looks more appealing in camera as well. Thanks for your support!😊
How do you begin getting paid shoots? I did a few with friends, my girlfriend and just people I know, but I’m afraid to take the next step and also don’t really know how or where to begin
Good question, these are some points that helped me out heaps👇: By sharing your work on Instagram, a lot of people discover/know that you're taking photos. Besides that, you can always offer a brand or business a free photoshoot. When they like the shots, you can present them a nice proposal + pricing for future shoots together. Another way is, walk into businesses and ask if they need photography done. Make sure you have your Instagram ready to show or even print out your photos to show as well. This way they know exactly what they can expect from your work and what they will be spending their money on💸 Keep in mind, the more you show your work/yourself on internet/in real life. The more people are likely to book you! 🙌🏼 Hope this helps you out, if you have more questions, feel free to ask away! :)
I totally understand that it can be scary, but keep in mind: you're in control! You can say yes and no to bookings. But if you never give it a go, you'll always keep wondering if it would've worked out. That's how I felt as well when I started, but you get the hang of it so fast!!!🏆
You can, but the storage becomes very full very fast. So I make a selection in Pixieset, and export them as a JPEG with quality at 20%. That’s high enough for previews
very helpful tips...did somebody tell you that you look like enid from the netflix series wednesday adams? anyway, keep shooting and making content. thank you
Presets can always be tweaked, and likely should be in many cases. They are a starting point for a particular mood or feel for a particular shoot, and you can adjust from there. Selecting a preset and calling it done isn't the way to go.
I get most out of my inspiration from outdoors/the city/seeing life on the streets. But I also love using Pinterest and Instagram as a source of inspiration, which I bring back into my moodboards!🙌🏼
I was ready to go to bed but I guess I can stay up longer for 10 minutes
Lmao literally same🤣
When I make todo lists, I like to start with the hard stuff first. For me, knowing that my tasks get easier helps me stay motivated to finish them! 😄
True! That’s a very good way to look at it as well 😊
I didn't know you were a model before becoming a photographer, but it makes A LOT of sense
Hahhaha yesss, that's where it all started!
I really like your videos because they are straight to the point.
Thankyou!! 🙏🏼
Great tip on using a mood board. It's always weird when a photographer's like, "I want to take pictures of you" but you have no context on what they're trying to go for.
Thanks Justine!! Exactly, you know what to expect of the shoot when receiving a moodboard. And it can make you more excited for the shoot as well! :)
The Instagram Feed folder is so simple but man it's blown my mind. That's genius! Definitely using that one. Thanks Faye!
Ah happy to hear you got use out of it 🙌
The photo album tip is great! Always love a free and great option.
Hahaha same 🤫
Happy you got use out of it :)
Been a photographer for years but the pixieset tip was still a life changer. Thanks!
Ah I’m very happy to hear that helped you out! 🙌
The audio effect with the text in the left ear only was a nice editing touch. Absconding with it, thanks.
Thanks a lot! Will for sure be using these when I'm out shooting!
Yay! Happy to hear that 🙏🏼
You are amazing!! And I really mean it! The tips, the way you shoot and edit is great. And it is helpful tbh so yeah keep it up!😊
Thank you! Very happy to hear that 😊

Would be dope to meet you guys, and/or go on a photowalk.

Hahahahahahah, well…
How you make a warm skin tone LIGHTROOM!
I play around with the camera callabration, shadows in the split toning, but most of it comes from the tone curve! :)
I am always down for some ticks and trips🤧
HAHA :)
Super nice!
Doei doei uit Delft!

God I love clumsy girls :)) you are so much fun
what lens did you use in the intro?
The 15-35 mm F2.8 from Canon 🙌
When using pixeset do you post the Raw files for client to choose?
You can, but the storage becomes very full very fast. So I make a selection in Pixieset, and export them as a JPEG with quality at 20%. That’s high enough for previews

Very happy to hear that! And no haha, that’s funny 😂
I don't use presets or LUTs, i am never happy with them. I edit all my photos by hand. As lighting colours vary for each lighting photo situations.
Awesome!! If that works for you, definitely keep doing what you’re doing 😊🙌
Presets can always be tweaked, and likely should be in many cases. They are a starting point for a particular mood or feel for a particular shoot, and you can adjust from there. Selecting a preset and calling it done isn't the way to go.
@@ko300zx yeah but many people do and sale them as such
The definitely need some tweaking. As lighting/whitebalance changes, like you said: a great starting point🙌
