The principals of photography is what she is referring to. I can pick up a Nikon-canon-lumix-Fuji- or any other camera and still get good results. I know photos photography works and I know how the exposure triangle works. It’s mainly just learning a new button configuration .
Damn, these photos came out soooo beautiful!! I usually don't like urban locations but the way you made use of these bridges on top was brilliant, it looks so amazing!! Your videos are always so inspiring!
I'd canon would get off their ostracized high house of exclusivity and allow Sigma to fellas RF mount glass that would help a lot. And in case your wondering I have a Canon EOS R & R5 and all but one of my lenses are Sigma (5 lenses) and I'm going to get 4-5 more Sigma lenses (primes).
Nice. Ive been shooting portraits professionally for 20 years and although I have used Canon the majority of the time, I have also owned and shot with Sony, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic, Leica, Hasselblad, Kodak....I think it's important for a professional photographer to know how to use other systems and I enjoy learning new ones. Nice shots! I was kind of disappointed though, I thought this would be a video with you shooting some old point and shoot digicam. Should try that if you really want to prove gear doesnt matter 😃I just did a product shoot with a Canon Powershot G3, quite fun!
Fun to shoot with smaller, lighter gear, isn't it? With the full frame sensor and a sharp lens, the results are like using full size gear. Love the back lit shots, choice of location, and the model. She has great eyes. I'm always impressed with your photos.
Loved watching this video! You're awesome Faye, and Holly is amazing to work with. (good friday shoot, i first met you and Holly, hella good evening) 🎉 Keep up the awesome stuff, enjoy your home visit 😊😊
Didn't love the first pics much , but then the bus station happened and your style showed up muuuuuch more !!!🎉❤🎉 .Great work as always ! I'm a nikon potato shooter , and I tired canon once and the menu was sooooo confusing 🤣🤣 I never wanna go into a photoshoot with a panic camera mode 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Correct, in the general sense the gear doesn't matter. It is when you become experienced in what your camera can and can not do and particular things you want or need in a photograph that gear Does matter. In the last five decades I have shot everything from analog 110, 35mm, 120 medium format to 4x5 and 8x10 large format and then M4/3rd, APS-C, FF and medium format (crop and full), lots of my childhood and teen to young adult years was spent in my darkroom and in that time I have learned that not all cameras are created equal. For the new shooters and one-trick-pony shooters, any DSLR or Mirrorless will do the job but it is later when they become more experienced in what their cameras can offer and trying out different systems is when they become aware that "certain" gear matters.... having said that the Sony cameras IMHO and experience is rather what I call "Quality Standard", if you can get over the ergonomics and menu system. They are not any better or worse than what other major manufacturers are offering all things being equal. It now basically comes down to handling and compatibility.
I own Sony A6600 and canon R7 and both are good at what they do,.... The A6600 I use if I need small form factor, and the R7 I use for wildlife because of the canon tete zooms I own. Both great bits of kit. Oh yeah, that little light cube is pretty good, I will buy one !
It's not about the gear of course, but Sony has way way more lens options at all price ranges. Lenses and gear are also smaller, and Sony GM lenses are impecable in quality. I have a Sony a7C with a 35 mm f/1.4 GM lens and the combo is tiny. I also have the 50 mm f/1.2 GM which is bigger, but still manageable.
Do you know what will even better emphasize this title Faye? Shooting portraits on an iphone. I bet you would do amazing and also it would be a fun video to watch.
Also bought a silver A7C II last week and used it for some portraits on the weekend. Absolutely fantastic camera. If you wanted to handicap yourself you did a bad job. :D (well apart from using a different brand that is of course)
I know its not all about the gear but have you used the R6 Mk2? pair it with the 50mm f1.2 and its amazing.. I wouldn't go back to using anything less 😅
Next try a Nikon D5300+, D3300+ and also with 50mm G lens. That combo is great and really different, also really cheap. If you want a real contender you need a Z6
I'm super hyped that you tried out Sony. Switched four years ago to my A7 iii, and it was one f the best decisions that I've ever made. But I have to say, the skin tones on Canon are so much better. But please don't try Nikon... ;)
oookay... so this is one of your best works so far i would say. that shows how far you came so far ... and what a sony is able to do ... :D just kidding.. it was all you, not the gear! ... and i need myself a sigma 50mm 1.2
Hi. I just ordered RF 24-70 2.8 for my r6II but now I got second thoughts if I should cancel the order and get rf 35 1.8 and rf 85 2.0 instead for shallower depth of field… what do you think?
Well, gear helps :)Try using a new camera in a more intense scenario where setting has to be changes in a second then gear matters. And It´s not like avrage joe have a setup like that :) The 1.2 isent a 3.5-5 kit-lens. Like the result thoe no matter the camera :)
siiiiick!! very nice shoot! I am a fujifilm shooter myself, mainly for the tactile feel of their cameras :) Also are you ever planning on doing workshops (in europe :p )?? :D
I got too much gear and barely do anything... Sony A9iii Sony A7RV Sony A7IV And Sony A7III 70-200 GM v2 Sigma 105 1.4 Art And more lenses And a DJI Air2S and more.. uggh
In my opinion Canon is very user friendly. The manual is very easy to go through. It’s a very comfy camera to hold as well. Besides that: I love the canon colours. Especially for skin tones, it’s the way to go for me. My photos already look good colour wise, in camera. And then when editing, it all comes together. Besides that I’ve grown up using a Canon camera. So it’s what I know best 😊
Not about the gear ..let’s use Sony A7Cii £2500 and Sigma 50/1.2 £1300 = Exactly 👍 never about the gear .cool video tho 👌
It’s not the gear but she is using the camera that I upgraded just a week ago because it was better 🫠🥲
The principals of photography is what she is referring to. I can pick up a Nikon-canon-lumix-Fuji- or any other camera and still get good results. I know photos photography works and I know how the exposure triangle works. It’s mainly just learning a new button configuration .

Love the energy in the video! Beautiful shots and you’re right, it so much more about seeing the light etc. cool idea with the dust.
Thank youu! Glad you liked it 🙏🏼
It's all about the eye, the creativity and some mighty fine and fast glass. Such truly awesome images.
You know it! ;)
"its not about the gear" - uses 4000$ worth of equipment 🤓
😂
Just like wildlife photographer using ($5500) Nikon z9 + ($15,000) 600mm f4 w TC prime that gear does not matter for good pictures 😂😂
This is the comment I was looking for before I posted 🤣
It's the same with " everyone looks good in photos let me show you" like an example uses a skinny girl who looks amazing in a bin bag.
its like a apple iphone user switching to samsung galaxy
Ooh these shots with the dust are amazing! Its not the gear, its the photographic eye/vision
Damn, these photos came out soooo beautiful!! I usually don't like urban locations but the way you made use of these bridges on top was brilliant, it looks so amazing!! Your videos are always so inspiring!

Woah I loved the style, lighting, and color temperature of all these photos! During one of my favorite times of days
Thank you! 🙏🏼🔥
Don't leave us (Canon)!
Never 🤝
Why do you shoot Canon? Mike uses Sony and you do lots of trips together. Isn't it easier to use the same brand?
(comment from a Sony and Nikon fan😊)

Those pictures look way better than ones taken on canon. 😂. Kidding. Great video and love the creative dirt kicking!
How did you color grade your footage to look so good?!?! Insane Photos, and Amazing Model as well!
Ahh thank you! I colour grade in Davinci.
It’s such an amazing program for that 🙏🏼

cool vid. good locations. good framing. good model and wardrobe. like the use of backlight. overall very good work.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Love my R3 but damn if the compactness of the A7C ii doesn't look fantastic! Great video and stunning pictures as always!

Excellent video Faye superb shots like you said it’s all about the talent and you are a very talented photographer 🔥🔥🇬🇧
Ahh thank you Alan! 😊🙏🏼
definetly have to redo this vid faye, perhaps a older dslr or even film camera, with prime lens but no 1.4 lenses, only 1.8 and above
I would love to! Was thinking about buying the first camera I ever owned: the Canon 200D. How fun would it be! 🙌
absolute banger set of photographs!
Thanks a lot! Good to hear you like it 🙏🏼
Excellent shoot! I liked the images with the Sony Camera, you’re right very vivid! colors pop! She beautiful model Great Job!

Super Fun! got some great shots there!! --- what are your thoughts on a 1.2 lens? (Artistic Value? Look? Worth the weight to you?)

Ahw thank you! 🙏🏼
Great shots! 👏👏👏
Amazing results 😍
Even though Sony gear is often cheaper, I prefer canon skin tones.
Hey in your fayes, while shooting did you notice any heating issues with a7c mii? Thanks for your reply in advance 😉
Close to first here!!! I love your videos! Amazing skill and great tips. I'm learning so much!!
Aww thank you!! 🙏🏼
@inyourfayes Greetings from South Africa!! ✌✌❤❤
Can you tell me how much a photo shoot costs.
How's the max 1/4000 shutterspeed on that camera when using a 1.2 lens? Is it enough?
I love your videos, videos are very educative for me. i love it
Ahh thank you! Very happy to hear that 🙏🏼

That RGB light where can I buy it. As I am based in the UK
Hii! Zhiyun also ships globally. You can find the link in my description 🙌
@@inyourfayes Why thank you ver much for this information have a blessed weekend

Idk why everyone so upset she’s clearly pushing “creativity” in this vid.
Thank youu! And that was exactly the aim of the video 😊
Best gear is from Sony ! 😄
Sony >>
It’s the gear.
It's both, gear and skills
I agree ;)
I got too much gear and barely do anything...
Sony A9iii
Sony A7RV
Sony A7IV
And Sony A7III
70-200 GM v2
Sigma 105 1.4 Art
And more lenses
And a DJI Air2S and more.. uggh
Why Canon?
I like Sony but, can you tell some feature that Canon have and is better than Sony?

@@inyourfayesI see.
They say that colors are the best on Fujifilm.
Great gear makes life easier. But no, it doen't mean beter pictures/content.
Agreed! 🙌
Nope, it's about the photographer, 😘.
Switching cameras!
Haha! Not planning on it.
But definitely had fun trying out something different 😉
Yay team Sony! But seriously, the camera doesn't really matter
Very nice
Thanks! 🙌
team canon
🫶🏼
Probably
you people always go with high end camera use canon 250d with 50mm f1.8 or canon m50
That’s a fun video idea! I started off on the Canon 200D. I’d love to give it a go again 😊
@@inyourfayes you should even Nikon d3100 that’s when at least we can say it not always the gear ⚙️ coz many people own this low budget cameras
I guess yall know that guy. At first I thought he was just some stranger standing around lol.
HAHA yeah we do!
"It's not about the gear", unless we're talking Nikon.. then you're just out of luck ;)
🥔🥔🥔
Oops, that's the Nikon Z8 not D8.
I'll bet if you tried using the Nikon D8 you'd leave your Canon in the closet. :-)
Nah in todays photography it's all about the latest and the greatest. Why do you think you have that in your hand.
yes gear dose matter people. people who says it doesn't matter are liars and delusional to reality of technology
first ?
Hell yeee
It's Not About The Gear, my honest reaction
😜
