I have seen a big difference doing exactly what Mike said. Activating the nervous system. last night my workout was 45 min-1 hr and I didn't focus on the pump... I felt the soreness in the mid back, lower back, the glutes and hams from my deadlifts an hour later. I only weigh 175 but my deadlifts sets are 3 warm up sets and 135 x 1 185 x 1 225 x 1. 5 Working sets : 1) 315 x 4 2) 325 x 4 3) 345 x 3 4) 365 x 2 5) 385x1 . then some accessory work like rows and lat pulldown and pull ups and all that... but I have seen amazing results with this! I thought it was all about the pump but I was so wrong.

Aside from the drug comments. This is actual training gold right here. I always say, "don't waste time doing what you already know you can do". Also agree with the doing 1-2 reps whilst warming up the chest for the maximum weight you can do. Managed to press 110kg on a flat bench today which is the most I've ever done on my own.

Best advice on stimulating the nervous system I've ever heard on any of your videos Mike!
I've done singles before to get stronger, but never tried this singles approach for the entire workout.
I've got to try this approach the next time I go to the gym!
I always figured I had to do at least 7-10 reps with the bar, and 5-10 reps with a light weight, to warm up before a workout,...not so sure that's necessary,...singles sound like they save energy. I've never done 135 pounds for 1 rep in the squat, or incline bench press,...then try 135 pounds again.
That sounds like excellent mental/physical training.
I bet the 'weight' does 'feel' different in the second set.

Question? Mike is 50. He's looked amazing for 30yrs! Can anyone do steroids for 30yrs and still have his health, strength and physique?

If you’re natural you don’t need to post natty on everything you do...biggest red flag. Mike and Simeon are hands down the most in denial users in the fitness industry. However, mike is probably one of the most knowledgeable dudes in the industry. Just wish he didn’t lie so much.
