Hi Chuck, thanks for your book "Grand Illusion". You have been my inspiration when I read and finished the book and it means a lot to me. May you further enlighten more people.
Chuck I have always loved you no matter what!! You are human and one of the greatest bass players ever, in my opinion!! Styx is my family and has been for 35 years!! Love you with all my heart...carry on brother...be you, your authentic self and love who you want to love :)
Chuck I'm so proud of you and I hope one day I get to meet you and the guys in person. If I have the chance I will hug like for as long as you let me I luv all you guy's. My son just told me he's gay and my daughter is bi, I was shocked but I gave them as tightly as I can a lot of hugs and I told them that I luv them and I'm very proud of them. You are beautiful inside and out. I luv you forever. 💗 stay safe and I hope I see you soon 😊 💓 ❤ 💛 💖 💗
Before we knew all of my family who still dearly loves him used to call him "Mr. Happy". He played, looked so happy on stage. The classic Bass player. He always looked at the other Styx members while jamming with that look is classic- We are just having a great time.
Best rock show I ever attended in my entire life was on January 12, 1978. Out of the 400 or so I've seen since none surpassed the power, fun, surprise and magic: Styx, Grand Illusion. I hadn't come out yet and for some reason keep looking at the bass player. After seeing this video just now I know why..30 years later.
I had their albums in 1977-1980. In those days, the ultra trim, very short hair cut was nearly unheard of in rock, maybe punk, etc. but not rock. It was usually a clear givaway as to someone being gay. So I knew he was gay then, but I don't care, since Styx' music is great, and I treat everone with the same degree of respect.
Dennis is still married to Suzanne. Babe was written originally only as a birthday gift to her. But you are right, Lady was also written for his wife. So I have to wonder how things in Styx would have been differently if babe had remained just that. I wonder if Tommy and JY would have had the bitterness towards it? Would Dennis still be in Styx today?

Who cares if your gay, you kept the beat to one of the greatest understated bands ever which makes you NOT GAY! :-)
Great bass player in a great band, what's it matter if he's gay. I don't understand why there are so many jerk comments on here.
@SamWhitemoon1 He was married for several years. The hit single Lady was about his wife.
We always new. Call it gaydar or whatever.. We just didn't care. Take care.
INot gonna get into a heated discussion about this,One question,What causes Aids?I rest my case.
