Broncos defense was great (a little overrated in terms of all-time but definitely one of best of this era). That Panthers team was a great team, one of the 10 best in the 2010s and them beating the Seahawks and Cardinals are proof of that. Cardinals were a very good team and these Seahawks were peaking at the right time (did have injuries down the stretch) and towards the end of the year were as dominant this year like they were in 2012, 2013 and 2014 down the stretch.

On the other hand, if Seattle can stop them, get the ball back, go down and score; then the game will be closer.” Duh, yeah, right. The game isn’t over yet, the team with the most points wins!!
This is probably not the most popular opinion but looking back I think this team was probably a little overrated (and I'm a Panthers fan). Obviously you have to be a good team to go 15-1 but I don't think they were an all time great team. I mean they were 7-8-1 the year before and 6-10 the year after. Also remember how many big leads they blew and had to hang on at the end to win. I think they were a good (but not great) team that caught quite a few breaks, played a fairly easy schedule, and Cam Newton had one year where he got hot. In the rankings of all the 15-1 teams they would definitely be closer to say the 2011 Packers or 2004 Steelers (who neither made the Superbowl) end of the list than to the 1986 Bears or 1984 49ers (who dominated the whole way). I prob wouldn't even put them ahead of the 1999 Vikings (who flat out choked away the NFC title game).

This game is the reason why I dislike Cam Newton (glad he was kicked out of the NFL) and why I HATE the Carolina Panthers. When they “beat” my Seahawks in the regular season that year, I knew they weren’t legit. They were double digits and needed my Seahawks to choke a 27-7 lead in order to beat us. Ironically, we needed the same to happen here, but couldn’t get the job done. This Seahawks team would’ve beaten the Broncos again. If the LOB was healthy, this likely would’ve been a 38-10 blowout win in favor of the Seahawks. Fuck the Panthers! Why are they promoting CP?! That’s disgusting!

This is probably not the most popular opinion but looking back I think this team was probably a little overrated (and I'm a Panthers fan). Obviously you have to be a good team to go 15-1 but I don't think they were an all time great team. I mean they were 7-8-1 the year before and 6-10 the year after. Also remember how many big leads they blew and had to hang on at the end to win. I think they were a good (but not great) team that caught quite a few breaks, played a fairly easy schedule, and Cam Newton had one year where he got hot.
In the rankings of all the 15-1 teams they would definitely be closer to say the 2011 Packers or 2004 Steelers (who neither made the Superbowl) end of the list than to the 1986 Bears or 1984 49ers (who dominated the whole way). I prob wouldn't even put them ahead of the 1999 Vikings (who flat out choked away the NFC title game).

This game is the reason why I dislike Cam Newton (glad he was kicked out of the NFL) and why I HATE the Carolina Panthers. When they “beat” my Seahawks in the regular season that year, I knew they weren’t legit. They were double digits and needed my Seahawks to choke a 27-7 lead in order to beat us. Ironically, we needed the same to happen here, but couldn’t get the job done. This Seahawks team would’ve beaten the Broncos again. If the LOB was healthy, this likely would’ve been a 38-10 blowout win in favor of the Seahawks. Fuck the Panthers! Why are they promoting CP?! That’s disgusting!

@@jakebuchsbaum3348 I’m not saying they weren’t, but if Rus doesn’t throw that pick 6, this game would’ve been tied. Also, the LOB had no heart left in the game after SB49. It’s been well documented that a lot of the leaders on defense did not trust Pete after SB49.
