Bjorn was in love with Lena and was missing her and he wrote these lyrics. They are very human lyrics. Most people can identify with them. Sometimes fame costs too much. Look at ABBA and you can see the high price they paid. I mentioned before that ABBA and the Beatles should be enjoyed in chronological order because they, more than most (but not all) evolved and matured and living that growth was an experience. The first one you should do for ABBA is their winning performance, live, of Waterloo, at Eurovision, 1974. They were standouts and that is why they won! You will enjoy it. Take care.

  • @JoeTyria

If you love the music of ABBA, you really should check out the musical "Mamma Mia!" I'm partial to the stage version, but with lockdowns and such, the movie version will be easier to obtain. One thing I can say about the movie adaptation is that they really stayed true to the stage version, with minor changes here and there. I really think you'd enjoy it.

Thankyou! You have a lot to do before you have covered the ABBA catalogue. What about starting with a rather early female singer song-writers debut, Agnetha Fältskog. She much later as the undoubtedly biggest star joined in the creation of ABBA. There were very few female singer-songwriters in the sixties. There are several versions of her debut hit song. It seems many people appreciate her work even though they don't understand Swedish. She was a teen singer with a dance band. The band wanted to make a record and sent a simple recording of some songs and she included this self-penned demo. Agnetha Fältskog - Jag var sa kär (Demo) - RUclips . The producer, Little Gerhard a former Swedish rock star called her up and she travelled to Stockholm with her dad. Little Gerhard organised a good arrangement and it came out like this, Agnetha Fältskog - Jag Var Så Kär (1968) - RUclips.
