luv u joe :)
Xeno crisis is best on neo geo 🕹🎮😀👍🏾
Lol "comedy"
Man, I hate it when I rob the wrong house and have to bring everything back.
Yeah. Happened a few times for me.
I gave the last one a giftcard to Lana’s Happy Ending Massage
You have reached a new level with the ending sketch on this one. A new level of what, I do not know. But it's a new level nonetheless.
Its an unlockable level
It was truly epic!
It just needed some of those David Lynch steam hissing sound effects.
@@AdrianMagni Kyle MacLachlan was the robber at the door
can someone pls explain thr end skit? im from switzerland and have no idea, beside it felt kinda familiar and we laughed hard..
Hotel Dusk on the DS was so good. And it was a shame nobody knew about it.
I have 2 copies but don't know why. Weird.
ABSOLUTELY. Man oh man- truly one of my favorites. I played it one December- which is when the game takes place. I was scheduled at a certain post at work and I could play it. WOW what a great game.
It often comes up when I discuss visual novels online. My personal fave is Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward.
@@FFFan3445 I tried that one- 999, right? On ds? I couldn’t get into it, and I think I screwed up. Everyone loves it. And it’s worth a bit of $ now too. I sold it- I’m an idiot!!!
The volume levels increasing with the genesis volume switch was a nice touch
I _love_ the fact that new games are being made for retro systems. It's really amazing.
indeed, i already have every intent to own every console worth a damn, these new games being developed is the frosting on the cake.
The pac man CE Demake actually has sound effects, however you need a special namco soundchip that expand the sound channels, some everdrive carts have that chip built-in :)
The sega genesis has the perfect balance of being relatively easy to program and being old and having it's own "quirks".
There's this really cool SDK called SGDK for it that allows you to program for the genesis in C instead of assembler, and comes with a really powerful audio driver.
"The Vita just doesn't have the power of the mighty Sega Genesis."
This is my favorite line. 🤣
Scary to think it was unironic.
Well it proves the Vita is no match for blast processing.
I bet it wouldn't have failed if it had blast processing!
@@ericbarlow6772 vita dont have mega power ;)
@@jeanfrancoisdutremble9022 mais bien sur! I do like the Vita though and I’m sad Sony pulled it’s support.
That ending skit was an emotional rollercoaster.
The end skit is that one guy in film class's final project but still somehow got the highest grade.
Great ending! Glad you are finally getting comfortable in front of the camera. No more wooden performances from Game Sack: Joe, you are certified tin!
A Game Sack upload is second greatest moment of the month. The first greatest moment is the other Game Sack upload.
I have a Jaguar with a total play time of one hour. So, no offense or unsubscribe issues, here.
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 Its still not great though, I got bored of Tempest after a few plays, there really isnt much to it. Doom was pretty good as long as you hadnt seen the PC version.
Tempest 2000 on jaguar is not only my favourite Jaguar game but it plays beautifully with that Jag controller.
Imagine paying more than $5 for a Jaguar console tho
@@quibquatch3975 I don't have to. Use to have a shop and mail order company in the early 90s. We bought and sold quite a few at launch. I kept mine and played Tempest 2000 A LOT. Sold mine now tho.
@@olderloverxx Nice. I don't even want one for free lol
Game Sack episodes always drop on a sunday evening all the way over here in New Zealand. Another nice episode!!!
God, that ending is the best yet
Why? Please, why?
@@homejonny9326 yea I didn't get it either
Every month I wonder...what will the next ending skit be? I can’t even come close to guessing them. Love them though.
@@BigMacOrange I just thought the mask had finally slipped and we had seen into his true lunacy.
Scott the Woz jab
best way I've found to play Xenocrisis is through retroarch with an SN30 pro usb controller. with a little clever controller remapping, it was real twin-stick goodness!
Joe, this is probably the dumbest and best after-credits so far.
My God! Joe, your acting has really improved, during these (almost) 10 years! Impressive!
I've been watching old episodes non stop this week and letting as many ads play as I can stand but my point is this channel is by far the best on youtube period.
Why, is he having issues with views or something and he’s been thinking about stopping?
Your sarcasm is always gold, Joe! Keep it up!
The developers of _Super Russian Roulette_ held a competition in 2015 to see who could compose the best title theme for their game! I tried out for it and even made a video of me performing it on piano at my college. It didn't get accepted, which really bummed me out.
There's something to be said for just taking part, though
Your new ways to say metroidvania is truly hilarious
uhh that was a controid okay!!!1 nothing like a metroidvania! GAWD!!1
Lol, the ending sketch is one of the best ever Joe - love it!
Two things:
1) That Russian roulette game looked pretty dark.
2) Wasn't there a homebrew NES cartridge that was featured on Game Grumps where Arin kept dying over and over again while making up some kind of improvised story?
Good luck with the remodel, Joe! Looks like a pretty major project!
That ending was amazing.
I see you've been to the Keith Apicary school of acting
I fell in love with Darius when I played it on the Genesis mini... i feel like it has just the right amount of challenge/difficulty and I love it's powerup system, which, unlike some shmups, is quite fair! It took me a while but it was really satisfying when I finally beat it. Plus it has awesome music and colorful graphics, a boss rush mode (and all of the bosses are awesome giant sea creatures with weird names), and alternate paths! Memorizing enemy locations and patterns is essential, as is snagging the powerups. Great game! In fact, one of my favorite shmups!
The WonderSwan is portable console that has Tate mode games, Joe. There are even fan translations for it!
a few games for PSP, also DS, in latter case it was like holding a pocket book. Wonderswan did it better though because it was designed with vertical mode in mind and was really comfortable to use.
I have a tate mode too
There's a metric ton of SHMUPs, arcade ports and pinball games on the Switch that support tate mode as well.
Also "tate" is pronounced "tah-teh", it's a Japanese word.
@@mcilrain
Joe deliberately mispronounces it to show how little he cares about Japan or its silly language,
and he wants all the weebs to be furious about it.
This esp going to good. Nice to see some new games being made for the OG game systems.
Comtroid ? We in germany would call it a Turrican Clone :-) Nice video !
Probotectroid?
*Turriclone
Just when I was about to have coffee with some snacks, synchronicity brought me a new episode of Game Sack :)
Great video, as usual. Thank you! Namco also released Gaplus for the NES in Namco Museum Archives Volume 2
The Commodore 64 also seems to spit out new awesome releases like Zeta Wing, Millie & Molly, L'abbaye Des Morts, Sam's Journey, etc.
That ending skit, tho.
I haven't laughed that hard since that other skit with the random slap from off-screen. I wish I could remember which video that was.
How many signatures are needed to get the fart sound put back into the intro.
You too?! I thought it was just my inclination toward juvenile humor. The unzipping DOES sound fartish.
It's definitely time for it's return.
Indeed, sir.
@@brandonginsburg3120 Watch the early episodes. It's a fart.
I vote fart 2021
About the Pac-Man CE Demake:
The sound effects were mainly generated by some custom chip Namco made for some certain Famicom games, so they would require 'external sound hardware', which US and EU systems don't support.
Trust me, the effects sound EXACTLY like the original 1980 arcade Pac. ;)
Oooo someone enjoying visual novel in TATE MODE!!! 14:33
Loved the sketch at the end. Was slightly hoping for dave to be the robber or the person desperate for attention at the door
That end sketch was a new level of wood for you, err Gamesack person
21:18 if you play this game on a modified NES with the 47k expansion audio mod then you should be able to hear all the sound effects plus the other channels in the music
every new game sack ep is a gift! i watch em a few times over. the format is just perfect. please keep releasing the combination epsiodes too. those are great bedtime watching material 👍
I wish we'd see some N64 homebrew soon.
Also, did the thieves remember to return Snatcher or will they have to go to Dave for that?
I was half expecting it to be Dave at the door coming back because he forgot Snatcher
Yes....Sunday morning Sack!
I've listened to the Xenocrisis OST so many times. But I have never actually played the game.
Wake up in the middle of the night, notification for a new gamesack episode appears. Guess who isn't going back to sleep now?
@@Gatorade69 LOL thanks for the tip ;D
This is the most underrated game channel on RUclips... Much props to you Joe!!👊💥👍
loved the Gamesack School of Acting video in the end :D
Cheers from beautiful Boulder, Colorado! Keep up the great work, fellow CO local!
I was literally searching yesterday for a part 2 of new games for old consoles lol
Never thought there would be a day when game sacks would use the term "furry"
When all hope is lost... Game Sack is the salvation we will need for gaming review entertainment.
Nice, Xenocrisis is now available on the Gamepass. Thank you, I know what game I will play this morning! 🤘
I love waking up on Sundays to your sack.
Oh, for the NES demake of Pac-Man CE (and Gaplus), it's due to using a Famicom sound expansion called the Namco-168. I tried a dump of both in an emulator, and it does indeed have music and sound effects. The unused expansion port underneath the NES needs a tiny bit of modding for that to work with a flash cart.
So cool to see consoles from the past, still receive love.
That skit at the end 😗 whoa
This is the second time this week I saw someone did a review of Xeno Crisis. since SNES Drunk did a video on the game (PC version) days ago, but Gamesack did the original Genesis version, as well as the Dreamcast and Vita versions. BTW Henk Nieborg did all graphics on all versions of Xeno Crisis, and I remember playing the PC version of Xeno Crisis, since the Vita, PS4 and Switch versions are similar.
PC/PS4/Switch versions are the best.
I was thinking I’ve heard about this game before and that’s where.
Once again Joe blows us all away with his sterling acting skills in a surprising and witty end sketch. 😄😝
That post-credits had serious Doug Prishpreed/Scott Clam vibes. Really cracked me up!
Thanks for doing this Sack.
The main character of Nix reminds me of Carmelita Fox.
The end had the best editing I've ever seen!
Wow, that Darius port looks great! Seems quite accurate, including the music and sounds!
Just a shame it's only one screen of course, but looks like they might've adjusted some of the enemy placement to fix that thankfully.
Appreciate you guys for covering Homebrew games. Keep doing this series, and eventually move on to original titles that never got a commercial release but were just released online for free.
And start another series on Fan Homebrews where they take an existing game and remix it to create a modified or newer edition. There's tons of classic games out there that most people have never even heard of from their favorite franchises.
I can't get over how good the music is in that NES version of Pacman Championship. I mean, that's some actual, proper, drum and bass going on at the 21:41 mark.
New homebrew stuff ALWAYS gets me excited!
That's some oscar worthy acting in the ending sketch. good stuff
XenoCrisis is amazing, one of the best games on the Genesis. You can rescue me as Dr. Wulver, I got the collectors edition and a normal edition cause it's just too damn good. Go check out Stone Protectors on Kickstarter, it needs more backers to get a physical Genesis release.
It's worth noting that both 'Xeno Crisis' and 'Xenocider' can be played with SEGA's Twin Stick controller for Dreamcast. It makes controlling both much more natural.
I bet. Wish I had one.
Love these games for old consoles but with modern sensibilities. That Pac-man Championship Edition looks fantastic!
Pretty sure the Darius port was made by M2 when they did the Mega Drive mini, that's what I heard anyway.
That was the best ending skit you've ever done holy shit
The "Furry" game looks like the devs of Action 52 reskined Cheetahmen for their own personal use and by use I of course mean...jackin it.
Yiff Yiff Yiff!
Lol furries are disgusting!
It was the one goal all along.
@@Ubersnuber Isn't it always with furries?
@@koolkool3856 I’m weirded out by them. Their fetish isn’t meant for normal brain consumption. You don’t want to know my fetish, and I won’t tell.
'Controid' sounds like something I'd need a cream for. Maybe a Turrican-'em-up?
The acting in the ending skit is FANTABULOUS. If Game Sack does not win an Oscar for such quality acting, especially with how few things have been released because of Covid, then it is proof that the Lizard People are in charge and have rigged the Academy Awards.
I can't shake the feeling that the ending skit is going to be used as evidence in court some day
Nice job with Super Russian Roulette. Thanks for mailing it back to me. I ROCK!
Whenever Joe drops a video, it's a good day! Thank you sir!
"I can use that to buy a new green screen and keep making Game Sack. *hehHAHhehheh* "
that's gold, Joe. GOLD!
Great video as always. That ending was gold!
Smash TV on the Genesis had settings that let you use TWO controllers for ONE player, so you could use 2 D-pads, D-pad from one controller moved, and the other controllers D-pad would shoot in any direction.
That is the best ending to anything I've seen in ages, lol. Loved it and thank you for the awesome content!
Instant thumbs up! Even before I watch it, because I know it’s going to be good.
Well you know Dave wasn't the burglar because he would've kept Snatcher. *Goes back in video to look for Snatcher's distinctive white striped spine* Wait a minute. . .
Make sure to wash your Tate from front to back.
Let it be known,,, Xeno Crisis is being ported the the mighty Neo Geo, that is all.
As you are always very kind to thank me for watching Game Sack:
I thank you for making Game Sack.
Regarding your acting skills, it is a pity that it is already 2021. In 1995 it would have been good enough to appear in some Point and Click Adventure game like Phantasmagoria. ;) Keep trying. (Just kidding.)
Best video game channel. Period. Still miss dave
The Dreamcast version of Xenocrisis also supports the Twin Sticks.
It supports quite a lot of things. I wish I had the twin sticks.
Thanks for your service!
You forgot to mention the random generated (in a primitive fashion, but still) room layout of Xeno Crisis, quite possibly a first for the Genesis.
Damn man your on fire today! Keep that Game Sack brand of humor coming!
Thank you for my Sunday morning fix✌️
You should do one on missed opportunities.
Games destined for a system but just happened to come out when the next gen console had released.
the end sketch is the weirdest game room tour ever
You are a scholar in terms of oldschool gaming, you should have a phd for that!
Your videos help me sleep at night. not that they are boring but they are familiar and soothing
One of the last shows I still watch at normal speed.
That one game for the Genesis, I wanna. On to other, more important matters. That ending was great. From now on I will always hear Joe's voice every time I hear someone say: "Oh, No!"
Hell yeah a gamesack episode on my birthday (it’s Sunday night in Australia)
Happy Birthday ! Have a great day!
