One of my favorite actors. His portrayal of Slughorn is his best performance, the faces he makes are so funny, like when he laughs about his own jokes
The Slughorn in the books was a bit annoying but Jim made him be so charming and endearing, he was one of my favourite characters in the films.

He's the PERFECT Slughorn! I loved his performance in the movie.
Damn I love Broadbent, every time I think of him, I imagine some mad character he's played as, from back to Black Adder and before, to The Borrowers, Around the world in 80 days, and so on. An all around entertainer.

I wish I had teachers much like Horace Slughorn.
I actually liked Slughorn in the film! I don't particularly like him that much in the book so here is an example of what an actor can bring to a character. I really warmed up to him as the movie went along! Great job Broadbent! :)
Three summers ago, my dad was visiting London and he went into a coffee shop. It turned out that Jim was sitting at a table next to him and he was with a lot of his friends. I still can't believe my dad actually saw him.

broadbent did a damn good job in the movie. I don't think anyone else could portray slughorn better then him. I was glad that he had a pretty big role in the movie compared to some other characters. anyways, nice job broadbent.

@DobbyJunior Exactly! This Slughorn is a great example of how the actor chosen, who may not be the exact perfect candidate for the role, gives his best performance and in the end it's just a good interpretation of the character

he is perfect as Sloghorn and now as Dennis Tacher. I Love him.... I love his accent.

Before he was cast as Slughorn, I always imagined Jim as Rufus Scrimegour - I imagined Scrimegour a lot like Jim's portrayal of Boss Tweed in Gangs of New York, slimy and imposing. But he was excellent playing Slughorn.
