Very nice! A lot of great choices that I love (After Hours, for instance is such an underrated Scorsese film. Without a doubt, it's my favorite of his films. Simple concept, incredible filmmaking).
Thanks. I'll definitely check out French movies of that era. Au Hasard Balthazar (1966) has been on my watchlist for years. I hope to watch it sometime this year. I have DVD copies of Breathless (1960), Cléo from 5 to 7 (1962), and Army of Shadows (1969). I watch them and see if I enjoy them enough to add them to my next year's list.
@@matnav3004 Surely, there are movies in your list you like more than others, right? I know I could make a 100 list and order the movies roughly. For any movie in the list at any given time I could say approximately where they stand. For example Herzog's Aguirre is in my top 5 and Carpenter's Halloween isn't in my top 50. Just trying to get a better sense of what your tastes really are.
@@abrahamchen8627 It's been on my watchlist for a while. It does look stunning. I hope to see it sometime this year, and hopefully it will be added to my 250 Favourite Movies list at the end of this year.
Wow, 200 movies AND release order. That's nuts! There's no such thing as a bad pick on your list either, great job!
Thank you so much! 😀
Great selections.
Thank you!
7:11 THE BEST MOVIE OF CINEMA HISTORY PERIOD.
Wonderful montage. 98 of these would be on my list, but all of your pieces fit together so nicely.
Thank you. I'd be happy to add movies that you recommend to my watchlist.
The Red Shoes, Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, Brute Force, The Asphalt Jungle, On the Town@@matnav3004

Yea after hours is my favorite Scorsese movie
Great list. You're missing the entirety of the French New Wave. I still have to see 38 films on your list

Don't forget Jules and Jim and Contempt. Balthasar is magnificent.
Sometime this year? Robert Bresson is beyond filmmaking. He is sacred.@@matnav3004
Was thinking the same. Le Circe Rouge or anything by Melville and Italian neo-realism.
Brilliant list, friend! I can't do release order, that would drive me nuts lol. I just do personal ranking.
Good taste! Keep appreciating cinema!
Thanks :D
One of my favorite movies was Benny and Joon ...where johnny depp does that charlie chaplin thing at .11❤❤❤❤
Awesome video man,hey what music did you use for the video if you don’t mind? I want to use it for mine.
Thanks! The music is a slow-down version of Thomas Newman's Road to Perdition.
You have got an amazing list here.
Into the Wild (2007) - Just a suggestion.
Thank you so much for the recommendation. I'll put Into the Wild (2007) on my watchlist.
Would you be able to share a top 10 or 20 list ?
I've seen a few of my all-time faves in your video and I wonder whether they are amongst yours.
I think choosing my top 10 or 20 favourite movies would be extremely difficult, but I'll take note of your suggestion for a future video.

@@zstepohznrebrenhoirer7 Fair enough. Herzog's Aguirre is on my watchlist. I hope to watch it at some point.
@@matnav3004 Okay. How about you pick 5 that you would say are for sure in your top 20. Can you manage that ?
@@zstepohznrebrenhoirer7 Yeah. I'll make a top 20 video at some point and possibly have voice-over discussing my thoughts on why I love them.
what’s the name of the song?
Road to Perdition 800% Slower - Thomas Newman
You missed Serpico and Easy Rider ❤
I'll add them to my watchlist.
The grave of the fireflies is not the movie it a reality

What does that mean?
I want Powder moovie în romanian integral.
What movie is that?
No Terrence Malik!
The only film of his that I've seen was the Thin Red Line, but that was a long time ago. I still need to see his other directorial works.
@@matnav3004 A Hidden Life is really good too. Knight of Cups was life changing for me.
