Looks like July's going to be a good month for you. I'll be re-reading Annihilation and the rest of the trilogy too! I have an ARC for the 4th one coming out later this year, but need a refresher on the original trilogy. I'm still hoping The Spear Cuts Through Water makes it through the bracket! That book's amazing.
We will see what wins Sunday. So cool u got an ARC of the prequel!
In July I will finish Green Bone Saga for sure everything else is a loopy free for all 🤪

Fire and Blood!! Yes! I just finished Of Darkness and Light. Not as high on the series as you but I did think book two was good and I'll continue. Btw, there isn't a change of showrunner in House of the Dragon - Ryan Condal did S1 and S2, however in S1, Miguel Sapochik was a co-showrunner and he stepped down for S2. So its still the same guy running it but he lost his lieutenant haha. I think the lighting changed because people have been complaining about it being too dark for years haha.
Ahhhh I can see that side for sure there were some dark episodes. So the writer is Condal is still there but his right hand who is a visuals guy is gone. Makes sense to me. Thanks Kyle I am about to watch episode 2 right now.
Just wanted to post and say the production of your videos is fantastic really great stuff! I read Annihilation earlier this month and it blew me away! I haven’t seen the movie so I didn’t know what to expect, but was in the mood for some weird horror sci-fi and Vandermeer delivered!!! So atmospheric, the prose was gorgeous and at times created a creeping sense of dread, I loved it. Can’t wait to hear what you and Amy think, especially with her speaking from a reread. It was Murphy’s reading blogs that convinced me to give it a go so definitely check out her spoiler review once you finish it!

FYI: the paperback of the Trials of Empire is out too… I bet you have no time to have a summer of Sir Konrad Vonvault so next month my patreon pick will be Justice of Kings!! You never know. I soft DNF’d this last book but I will pick again it up when you do… the demon stuff got very heavy for me where the balance is much better in the first two books.
I still show a pre order for the paperback. Beginning of August when I check. But it is a great time to start book 1 so I would love that choice for the Patreon pick.
I also plan to read Fire and Blood in July! How neat is that :)

I don't usually plan my reads that much.
I'm currently reading The Way of Kings (my first Sanderson) for a book club, and we have until the beginning of August, so I'm stretching it out, about 20 pages a day to make it last so it'll still be fresh in my mind. So half-ish of that, for sure.
I've got Lost Ark Dreaming on hold at the library, so maybe that depending on when it comes in. And I've got Future Home of the Living God checked out currently, but I've had it for a few weeks and have't started it yet, so it may or may not get returned unread.
Sounds like you got great options for wherever your mood may take you.
Well I just have been notified that I have been accepted for a teaching post in Granada, Spain meaning I will soon be forced to abandon most of my books at my parents' house and rely on books that can be shipped to me. I'm not sure what to do with this information so I am choosing to be in mild denial. In July I do hope to get to before I go....

Having read (and loved) 11.22..63 and then watched the rather (IMO) disappointing T.V. adaptation, I'm going to start July with a "lighter," effort, I'll read the next book in Maupin's "Tales of The City," before launching into "Swansong," which I'm really looking forward to! 📚😉
Loooove Swan Song! It has got supernatural horror in it. Just to let you know. Some have been disappointed cause they were not expecting it.

I very much look forward to the July reads (+ the last days of June as well) Im eagerly awaiting my order of the first Expanse comic + Warriorborn (I was so excited for The olympian Affair that I missed that this one even existed 🤣 But hey, now I got to read it instead.) After that I will read a Swedish urban fantasy that happens to be one of my friends favourites. For the first time in forever I will actually be able to discuss books in real life which is awesome! Also not long now to the release of The mercy of Gods! Im like a kid in candy store right now thinking about the coming months!

I'm reading Of War And Ruin, TBATB book 3. Every book is twice as good as the one before .. which means book 3 is four times as good as book 1 😅 even his writing style is getting better its amazing 👏🏼

I’m working on some Tad Williams chonkers (LOVE Tad Williams) and I’m 375 pages into The Faithful and the Fallen…so so so good! But I do have Mistborn #1 on my shelf. I’m gonna take a page from your book (see what I did there?🤪) and read one Cosmere a month. Thanks for the video!

I finished Mistborn book one and while I REALLY liked it (characters were SO great, but I'm not in love with the magic system) I'm going to switch over to start The Way of Kings after I'm done reading Empire of Silence (which I'm still too early to give an opinion on). I plan to finish Empire of Silence in June so I can start Way of Kings in July. The other books I'm planning to read in July are Antifragile by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, How We Change by Ross Ellenhorn, Chinese Architecture by Nancy Steinhardt and Lies & Weddings by Kevin Kwan. Spending summer in the South of France with family so I'm hoping to have a lot of reading time. Happy reading!

Great list as always - I also very much need to read Fire and Blood! I'm a little nervous that it will be too Silmarilion-y for my personal taste (meaning, fascinating amd will be glad I read it, but feels more like dry bullet points than a fun reading time), but definitely need to get to it at some point.
My plans are to finish up Demon in White and then try to squeeze in Tress of the Emerald Sea before my preorder of Godeater arrives in the mail so I can jump in to that! And then later in the month I want to continue One Piece (I promise it gets WAY better than what you read in the east blue saga... arabasta got me hooked!)
I do need to get back to One Piece. I have some of the same fears for Blood and Fire. We will see. Can’t wait to get my hands on GodEater. Cmon mailman!

Fire and Blood has no business being as page-turny as it is! Nearly everyone I know who reads it messages me with shock that its so compelling. It doesn't read nearly as dry as Silmarillion.
Silmarilion didn't read dry at all, to me. Absolutely loved it.
The Daughter’s War prequel to The Blacktongue Thief just got released today! My most anticipated book so far…Ironically, Luke is off from school until mid-July so it will have to wait. ☹️ I can multi-task many things while listening to my audiobooks but Luke is not one of then.

Are you going to read all of Blood and Fire or just the Dance of Dragons section? Personally I enjoyed the conquest even more than the dance.

Can recommend checking out Clark Ashton Smith’s «Zothique» short stories (CAS was the third leg of the «Weird Tales Trio» together with HP Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard (of «Conan the Cimmerian» fame): His «Zothique» stories are set on a Bronze Age Tech level Dying Earth in the Far Future, so S&S mixed with Horror, amazing prose, CAS was a celebrated poet even before he wrote for «Weird Tales»!) or Gustave Flaubert’s «Salammbo» (Historical novel set during a Mercenary Rebellion in Ancient Carthage: Proto S&S, a jest that it is a 200 Page «Malazan» Novel from the 1860s, brutal and decadenr! 😄)
