It must be a bittersweet occasion, nearing one year since the passing of his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II. As a Canadian, mourning the loss of our forests through all these horrible fires due to climate change, it is wonderful to support His Majesty who has been working so long and so diligently towards making the world aware of the negative impact of fossil fuel usage. Thank you, Sir, and keep up the great work!
My heart goes out to all the people of Canada for the impact and destruction the fires are having on life, communities and the natural world. I pray for rain for you all . 🙏🙏🙏🇨🇦🇨🇦
Miss our wonderful Queen but King Charles is doing a great job leading the monarchy forward and has always been steadfast in his duty to Country,Commonwealth and the Planet. Long may he reign 🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴

As a neighbor of Canada, we've experienced the smoke for a couple of months, bringing the effects of global warming so close to home. We had quite the haze and could smell the smoke as it came down over us. The orange sunrises; dim enough to look at the sun, as if though specially filtered glasses. I am glad King Charles is a strong voice in creating a heightened awareness.
Her late Majesty would be proud at how humble her son is, making the best of His Majesty's reign.
This had be hard returning since last time was when his mum passed 😢
Not quite. Charles and Camilla returned to Balmoral for a month after QEll's funeral and a few times since. But, yes, anniversaries are particularly poignant.

I'm SOOO glad he decided to stay at Balmoral and keep tradition going, but this has to be a hard and emotional day for him. It's the first the Queen would have been there and Charles was with her last year and it's the last place he saw her alive 💔, so heartbreaking.

Ahhh, is there any sound more poignant, more beautiful than the bagpipes? Just love them, really!!
J'attendais ça avec impatience ! Je n'ai jamais loupé une arrivée de Sa Majesté la Reine !
King Charles III loves the Scottish highlands, as did Queen Victoria and his sweet mother the late Queen Elizabeth II, may she rest in peace. King Charles III in deed deserves to enjoy this highland haven, and relish in the Scottish traditions that make Balmoral so special.
I get the impression William is not so enamored of the Balmorality rigmarole. ( his mother hated the place
) It would not surprise me were he to gift the Castle to the Nation, retain perhaps only 2 or 3 of the larger Estate cottages for occasional visits.
It is remarkable how relaxed and comfortable everyone appeared. The King definitely looked as though he was enjoying himself as were the people and the Troops on parade.
The pony used to try and eat the Queens flowers. I remember she told them to stop trying to eat her flowers and put them behind her back, then patted him on the head. Such a lovely lady!!
How very beautiful to watch The King at his welcome to Balmoral Castle. However it must have been full of memories for him, thinking about our late Queen. I remember watching her inspect the Guard and always going over to their pony mascot. I’m weeping as I type. It is so different this year. Blessings from Canada.
I just love the swing and sway of the kilts as they march away in precision time.
Hope that King Charles gets to relax and enjoy his stay at Balmoral. He will always have duties. A little sad due to the passing of his parents. Wishing him the opportunity to create new memories for his family.

Just an aside. Lt Col Thompson is the Kings bodyguard. He doesn’t need to wear uniform unless at a ceremonial event.

It's good that Charles did not change his name when he became King, his Scottish ancestors Charles 1 and Charles 2 must be pleased (though Charles 1 got his head chopped off) House of Stuart 🏴🇬🇧
I sometimes wonder whether those in line to the throne consider the regnal numbers in Scotland and England/Wales when choosing names for their heirs. Charles is Charles III in both countries. But James would have been James III and VIII. Even Elizabeth II was actually the first Elizabeth to reign in Scotland, which is why the EIIR cypher hardly appears in Scotland.
His great great great grand mother Queen Victoria I, aquired Balmoral estate as a private summer residence in 1852, she went on holidays there till she passed in 1901.
All British monarchs since then, King Edward VII, King George V, King Edward VIII, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II have all spent summer there.
Nice to see his majesty King Charles III following in the footsteps of his late mother and ancestors. Though Balmoral might bring sad memories because it was there his mother her late majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed on 8th of Sept. last year.
From a Nigerian who lives in Nigeria 🇳🇬. ♥️ the United kingdom 🇬🇧.
King Charles has always spent his summers in Scotland at Balmoral along with other members of the royal family like Prince William.
The King looks wonderful in a kilt. He must be a very decent man. Raised by The Queen Mother and The Queen. Both were Ladies in every regard. And his dear father, Prince Phillip. The King is an absolute gentleman in every sense of the word. I would love to speak to him and ask him about his gardens. That would be so lovely.
