I agree Nikki. The majority of us haven't lived through the passing of a Monarch and it just so happens we are witnessing a record breaking and much loved Queen. It's as important for the family as it is for us to take part in and see the traditions. Edinburgh Vigil gave me goosebumps and the look of utter sorrow on King Charles face touched my heart. This is really a historic moment. It shows us that the traditions of respect, familial relations and human spirit cannot be overshadowed by a materialistic world. Mourners are focused as they were forced to forget about their mobile phones. A very realistically human moment, indeed.
What an astonishing view. The Princes Vigil, as it is called, is usually performed by the children of the late sovereign (which was done already the other day by the King and his siblings). Today is very historic and significant that Her Late Majesty's grandchildren were here to offer a moment of silence for their Grannie. Family and tradition, private mourning and public duty rolled in 15 minutes. Historic and heartbreaking 😭💔

In a world where the media would have us believe that tradition is meaningless, this ceremonial rite in honor of the Queen demonstrates how important these rituals are. So happy and grateful to see Harry in uniform with his brother. How incredibly powerful for those mourners in passing to have witnessed this. Respect!
How important is this ritual exactly? I see sentimental value to it due to its history but is it really necessary? And why put the statement of the media influencing people to believe tradition is meaningless😂 hey, at least people in Kyrgyzstan still follow the tradition of kidnapping their brides, tradition is key!
Oh please Harry in hisclying uniform that he got to play soldier that the Queen lied to the world about how great he was He never was a soldier and they all know it. Can any of them stop lying?????
This was so moving. The grandkids were her pride and joy. It’s sad to think just 3 months earlier they were all celebrating her at the 6:08 Jubilee enjoying each other’s company along with their kids. With the exception of Harry of course.
I recently lost my father-in-law. My 14-yr old had a difficult time to come to terms with it. These 15 minutes must have be extremely overwhelming for all 8, but for Viscount Severn in particular. My heart goes out to him.
I feel sad watching this. I’m crying. She really is gone. She meant something to me. I will miss her smile. I am American, and like billions of others outside of the U.K. I mourn. Rest In Peace dear lady and may your soul be released in glory.
This was very moving, their love, loyalty, respect to their heritage , duty, service while in grief , their memories with their grandmother while growing up will be remembered by them in their whole life, memories that they will cherish and remember the late Queen as a grandmother first , then as the Queen the Monarch.....
I was so proud of Prince Edward's youngest child, Viscount Severn. He and his older sister Lady Louise didn't put a foot wrong, and stole the show for me during the vigil. P.S. Prince William was very handsome and extremely dignified leading the procession. Very proud of Diana's oldest son. I have faith that he will be a Great King one day.
My condolences to the Royal Family. My grandma past six months ago and I know their loss all to well. To see her grandchildren honor her that way was incredibly moving.

My great-grandmother and her daughter, my nana, died and we feel their deaths keenly during holidays. The two empty chairs they once sat in just reminds us of what’s missing. It does get better, just not quite yet.
So true. They may be Royals but they are a family and obviously were very close. They loved their Mother, grandmother and great grandmother so much. I feel for them and their loss.
It’s one thing to be “loved” by the people who only know you as a public person but to be loved and respected by your family who knows the real you - that is worth everything!
Nothing historic about it. The only history is the blood stains of colonialism and imperialism in British empire.
Hello Beverly how are you doing today and your family?
This is really special and I bet the queen would have been so proud of each of her adoring grandchildren. The crowds are so respectful. ♥
We need traditions like this more than we know.
As an American citizen I was moved to tears seeing the queen’s grandchildren standing vigil around her coffin.

We missed all the grandchildren vigil mi and my husband still in the queuing 12 noon until 11:15 we in the Westminster hall
Me too. Sending much love to Great Britain’s amazing Queen and her family. I’ll bet she’s so proud of her grandchildren. She must have been the sweetest granny. 💐
Your grandmother would be so proud of you all very well done to you all .the respect you have shown is amazing considering what you are all going through at this time.
Hello Maria how are you doing today and your family?
This moment, all the grandchildren, made me cry.Just watching it again! Did the same thing!
This was a very touching moment; they look so protective of her......
Great admiration and respect for the Queen's grandchildren to stand vigil beside their beloved Grannie, all in the public eye. Incredibly touching.
The dignity and respect shown by the Queen's grandchildren was so beautiful. I still get very emotional seeing this footage 💔💔
Queen Elizabeth II was loved dearly by her people, her children and grandchildren and around the world. For William and Harry, the public farewell must be particularly difficult🌹.The images that England sends out into the world are unique, how people behave respectfully and this 1000-year monarchy should definitely continue. 👑
Well our French Monarchy is far long gone.
Either way, we French would like to pay our respects and pay a tribute to Queen Elizabeth and our deepest condoleances to the Royal Family
We loved and admired her.
She may be gone and be missed
Her Legacy won't be forgotten

I do totaly agree... Queen Elizabeth II. was one of the most respected person within the last and present century 🙏 and I hope (deep from my heart) that her son Charles and her grandson will follow her footsteps 🥰 and I would like to extend my deepest condolences to her family and to the British people! With deepest respect from Gabriele (Munich, Bavaria) 👏

So touching to see our Gurkha brothers honouring their Commander-in-Chief.
The fact that they wanted to do this speaks volumes......aside from being a Queen it's evident that she was an amazing mother and grandma❤❤❤

GOD BLESS THE QUEENS GRANDKIDS AND VERY BLESSED LOVING FAMILY
I was there on the first day of this vigil, I waited 9 hours in line to get in. It was very emotional. Speechless. I have kept the wristband they gave us before we entered the room.
My heart breaks for these grandchildren. How brave and incredibly respectful. I would not have the strength to do what they have just done. We hug you all in your grief
Please!!

I love this tradition. Britain is showing the world how it’s done.
All pointless pomp and wasteful
Should have stand for 6 hours. A fraction of the time most had queued.

He wasn't a king that night he was a son grieving his mother. It's good the grandchildren all got the opportunity to take part and show respect for their Grandmother in such a poignant way too. I'm sure Her Majesty would be proud of them
@@Shaz73 I do agree, and I´m sure her energy is still around and will realize the honour of her family and thousands of people 😇
She was such a humble woman! I've seen many people throughout the years who didn't quite understand the rules that came along with being in her presence and I've also seen others who did know better but instead chose (for whatever reasons) to not abide by the protocol and never, not once, did she publicly scold or admonish any of them! She remained poised, polite & dignified through everything she's ever done in the public eye! She is absolutely missed by millions across the globe! RIP, QUEEN!! ❤
Una Prece. Amen.
Beautiful family, I hope certain members realize family means everything ❤️.
Respect each other and honor your wonderful grandmother, Our Queen by carrying on her legacy ❤️.
RIP Queen Elizabeth II

Funerals are one of the hardest experiences in life. The Queen’s grandchildren acquitted themselves so well especially Viscount Severn at the age of 15. Both Prince William and Prince Harry looked magnificent in their uniforms and the ladies were very smartly dressed. They all carried themselves with dignity and poise. Such a beautiful but sad tribute. One can almost feel their pain. 💔❤️🩹❤️💜
He is 14
Prince Harry and Viscount Severn look so much alike …… All these Royals look so humble.
viscount is 14
I really like your comment Broder
How all of these amazing grandchildren didn’t break down and cry.. just amazing strength.
Stiff upper lip, you know, especially among royals.
Grand and eloquent. Ceremonies are very important in all societies. Sadness and grief is not pleasant but the ceremony signals a permanent closure here.
I agree. They do help in bringing closure.
I was a little younger than Lady Louise when I lost my first grandparent. I can’t imagine what her brother is going through taking part in this being so much younger than the other grandchildren. RIP your majesty.

This is one of the most respectful things I’ve seen.
This is really a historic moment. It shows us that the traditions of respect, familial relations and human spirit cannot be overshadowed by a materialistic world. Mourners are focused as they were forced to forget about their mobile phones. A very realistically human moment, indeed.
Beautiful, apposite comment.
Amen!
im glad to see Lady Louis Windsor and princess Beatrice taking part tonight x

What an amazing honor these grandchildren have given her majesty..they loved her so.
This was heartbreaking and beautifully done at the same time. Grannie knows she was loved by many.

My cup runneth over of the love and respect I feel watching the grandchildren standing vigil at Queen Elizabeth's coffin. Words cannot express!!
Despite what modern day society wants us to believe, tradition really is important. This was beautiful, and moving. May the queen Rest In Peace.
It's the blind following of it for the simple sake of it, not following it for the act of respect.
I agree, tradition should never be slighted. It is part of our history and should always be upheld

England will never be the same. God Bless The Queen.

This is just beautiful. So much respect and love. Good Night HRH Queen Elizabeth 11 you are honoured and will be missed 👸
Her Majesty..
@@sarac.3259 Thank you for the correction; I really appreciate it & I do apologize if I was disrespectful. That sincerely was not my intent.
When we talk about the queen, it often escapes us that she was also a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by us all and perhaps heart-wrenchingly by those closest to her. RIP Queen Elizabeth II.
She was also a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and during WWII, she was a trained mechanic and ‘first responder.’
But all due respect, she won’t be missed ‘by us all,’ there are those who could care less.
It is wonderful to see how the British people honor their Monarch; respect and dignity we see here// so much needed in all parts of the world!
A very wonderful tribute to a Grand Queen, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was revered and loved so deeply throughout her family, country, Commonwealth and the world. God Bless Them All and Keep Them Close to Himself.

I love the Monarchy and am happy to have found this site. I can't get enough of all of them. Thank you.
The most impressive procession so far has been these young people. Under the eyes of the world, they carried on with their solemn duty and did so to perfection.
Well done.
I liked how, even though only one of these ‘young people’ will rule, folks bowed/curtsied to all.
How sad to see them so full of sorrow. But also sweet and kind of them to stand vigil at her coffin.
I was amazed at how much this still hurts I watched it again today and saw much more than the first time and ended up crying more this time because its still so moving and sad It hurts more NOW????"
Every aspect of this highest level of respect to a powerful, dedicated, and loving Queen, I will never forget. Heartfelt condolences to the family.
I love the way the Royal’s have demonstrated such love, loyalty and poise throughout this difficult time in their lives.

In a world where the media would have us believe that tradition is meaningless, this ceremonial rite in honor of the Queen demonstrates how important these rituals are. So happy and grateful to see Harry in uniform with his brother. How incredibly powerful for those mourners in passing to have witnessed this.
Respect!
@melchizedek44. I was happy also to see Harry in uniform. It was a pleasant surprise and heart warming to see all her grandchildren stand vigil.
Totally agree
@Rick Warren This is a vigil, be quiet troll.

Very proud of Sophie's son. Its hard to control the emotions at that age but he was amazing.
Yes, I am sure he will be great at being rich without a real job.

Never knew her, yet she has been in my life my whole 47yrs. Her life was unique and something to celebrate. I certainly mourned her passing and if the lines of mourners were anything to go by so did many. You'd need to have a heart of stone to see this and feel nothing.
