let's be real the most embarrassing song is Out For Love because it's completely antithetical to the entire surrounding context. It's a verbal dress-down of a character who does not exist. It's an entire song of "you should be doing this" when the character has already been doing that the entire time. At least Respectless could've been an email, Out For Love is about the completely wrong character arc.
Okay first of all, Out for love is a training song. Second of all, it’s not “you should be doing this” it’s “to encourage her for the extermination” and that’s the most embarrassing song? You thought that was the embarrassing one when there’s songs like Welcome to heaven and It starts with sorry and whatever it takes
@@YandelColon69 That's the thing, though. If it was actually a song about training, that would make sense. However, the song isn't ABOUT training, it's just the thing that's playing during the training scene. The song is ABOUT how Vaggie needs to fight not for vengeance, but for what she loves (i.e. Charlie). But she was already doing that the whole time. Anytime Charlie is even mildly inconvenienced, Vaggie is pointing a spear in the other direction. Sir Pentious is a spy for the Vees? Spear. Mimzy's loan sharks start to attack? Spear. She spent an ENTIRE PREVIOUS SONG talking about how SHE WILL BE CHARLIE'S ARMOR. Literally the only other time these two characters are in the same scene is the part where Vaggie is singing about how she's out for love. Out For Love is outright contradictory to the story as we have seen. Regardless of how awful Welcome To Heaven is, how schmaltzy It Starts With Sorry is, or how poorly Vaggie and Carmilla harmonize in Whatever It Takes, at least those songs are part of the plot that was actually in the show. A bad sequitur is better than a non-sequitur, and Out For Love is worse, it's a wrong-sequitur.
This is why I wasn't onboard with the idea of Hazbin Hotel being a musical. While the songs were decent, it is stuff like the Respectless and maybe even the 'You don't know' scene is where it is best if it wasn't a musical number and instead being a tense drama scene
@@TheUnmitigatedDawn i respect your stance but personally i dont believe either of the two are better than the other, they both have their issues i cant quite look past yk. though i do agree its always fun to poke fun at how much disney has fallen
I honestly would adore if you analyzed "You didnt know" not just cause its a personal fav, but because i find it so jumbled that its perfect for dissecting, imo atleast
I'd like to add in my two cents because although I've warmed up to it more, it's still by far not my favourite song. (spoiler warning) While Astor can dissect the rhymes, I cannot. However, I do like to dissect themes. And, in my opinion, You Didn't Know just misses the mark. When it comes to themes, I feel like it's all over the place. First, it starts off with questioning about Heaven's standards and saying that it's unfair, then it goes to Emily being shocked by Adam and Lute's exterminations, then Emily and Charlie raging against heaven, then ends with Adam and Lute telling that Vaggie is an angel. I feel like the song would've been fine with sticking with questioning heaven or just rebelling against them or just making the song dialogue because it's more believable for dialogue to constantly switch topics as people bounce off ideas and go off topic. But a song constantly switching topics and themes feels off. And I felt like the song was dragged out with Adam and Lute telling Vaggie was an angel. This would've been fine as dialogue. Everytime I listen to the song, I end up just skipping to the next song after it ends with the 'Hell is Forever' reprise because it doesn't sound good nor does it stick with any of the other song's points about heaven's standards or rebelling against it.
@@akiumzeno I really like the song for the same reasons you don’t enjoy it 😅 to me, one of the strengths of musicals is there ability to move the story forward so much in a short period of time by using the music of a song to carry you through. If it had only focused on any one topic of the many that it covered, I think it would have felt dragged out, but instead it captured the storylines of all these separate characters and how they all clash together in the big messy confrontation. To me, that’s one of its greatest strengths.
@@akiumzeno I mean...is it's themes all over the place or just all the content of it? Cause the whole theme is simple, questioning Heaven's standards and saying it's unfair and how they are being unfair, Emily being shocked and figuring out the exterminations has to do with Heaven again being unfair. Other stuff too although them saying Vaggie is an angel didn't have to be part of the song really. I mean it was mainly about questioning heaven and going against them, and eh...I disagree it could work as dialogue but it's a good place to put a song that affects the plot a lot and that flows well for the most part (aside from the ending with the vaggie which did feel kinda tacked on honestly) I mean it didn't entirely constantly switch topics and themes, it was about questioning heaven and debating if what they are doing is really ethical and ok. I agree with you about it feeling dragged out with Adam and Lute telling Charlie that Vaggie is an angel though.
I absolutely had a problem with Respectless when I first heard it. You said it perfectly with “This could’ve just been an email, or in this case, dialogue”. That scene had a lot of potential that I think was tarnished by a mid song
Nah this songs was great! It doesn't fit in a musical but don't say it's a bad song, actually say what you want, it's your opinion I should accept pt not everyone will like it
My same thoughts I feel like it would’ve flowed better as a conversation rather than a song. To me it felt like so much was being said and I kept feeling like I’m missing stuff. I think if it was a conversation that would’ve been easier for me to process the information
I love hazbin Hotel, but it's nice to see some genuine constructive criticism on it. Not only does it help me when I make my own shows. But it makes me feel like I understand the show more, and I appreciate its strengths and weaknesses.
You spoke my exact thoughts perfectly. Because don't get me wrong, I love this show, ESPECIALLY Angel Dust, but I will admit the show is flawed, and Angel Dust isn't exactly a well written character. (Not to mention it's pacing isn't really the greatest and some characters kinda just exist as plot devices.) But something I have taught myself is you can always salvage bad writing no matter how bad it is. If there are things that don't make sense in a series you plan on continuing, you need to come up with a good reason for that very thing that didn't make sense and make it make sense. Taught myself that from one of my current series that is a spinoff/sequel to a series I wrote back when I was 10 years old. And considering Season 2 is in the works and there is a 3rd and 4th season planned, they have time to listen to the criticism, learn from it, and fix those flaws for the later seasons. (Honestly something that would've helped with the pacing is if we had more episodes of season 1. Angel Dust is in an abusive relationship with Val as shown in episode 4, but then in only a few episodes, Angel Dust is able to stand up to Val despite it making the most sense to stay away from him considering he probably wouldn't want to make things worse since Val owns his soul and can do a lot to him. Sure, I obviously hate Valentino and I think that scene with Angel standing up to him was well deserved, but it should've been saved for much later in the show. You can only do so much in just 8 episodes.)
Oh my gosh thank you for doing this. I like the song for what it was but my problems started when I wrote a parody for it and tried to record myself singing it. The instrumental was my biggest problem because I got completely lost when I tried to sing it, which normally I just need to hear the instrumental for like 5 seconds to figure out where I’m at but I had to start from the beginning to figure it out, which I’ve never had to do for a song before. Also I didn’t change any line with “respectless,” in it, which proved to be my undoing because it was so awkward to sing. I’m probably going to have to shelf this project or at least rework it before trying again. Honestly the singers carried this song way more than the writers did. I’d love to see you do more videos from Hazbin like Loser baby or Hell’s greatest dad.
Myeah y'know, form what I've seen terminally online Hazbin haters are much worse than Hazbin fans. At least even the haters love Angel. (I haven't watched the show, just osmosis observe)
My issues with Respectless is the same issue I have with many Lin Manuel Miranda songs. Where you'll have a fine line, but then a yo, yeah, bro, etc. gets thrown into it and doesn't really add anything. It just reads as very "how do you do fellow kids."
Lin-Manuel Miranda is a far stronger songwriter than Haft or Underberg and I love Hazbin's music. Songs like Satisfied and Yorktown are phenomenally written
I agree with all of these points, it’s weird how you put an initial “off” vibe into words. I also think that the songwriters should have taken into account their respective accents. Six as a musical (especially Don’t lose your head) is really good at utilising the British accent to force rhymes not possible with an American accent. Saying this as a British person but the switch from Carmens right pronunciation and guitar to a heavy English accent was jarring to say the least. Same with Carmen in very other song tbh.
She’s talked a lot about lyrical work by Howard Ashman for Disney, and if you try to sing some of the accented characters’ songs it’s really hard not to slip into one yourself or end up sounding way more stilted without it. Like, try singing “Under the Sea” with a British or American dialect instead of Sebastian’s Jamaican and it sounds off. You’ll slip back into it just trying to make the songs rhyme and flow as they should, especially on rhymes that involve joining words (“spirit” and “hear it” for example).
I personally really disagree with using "disrespectful" in place of "respectless". I personally don't see how the first word would be any less awkward than the first. Plus there are plenty of songs that use rare words, or even words that straight up don't exist
As explained, no one really says the term “respectless” (heck even autocorrect agrees) and the point is this was used as the main hook of the song, so I highly doubt the same situation being common in “plenty of other songs”
Okay but that's really not a comparable comparison because that's a specifically long made up word and respectless is a really but infrequently used word that doesn't flow well
Thank you for making this video. I lack song-writing knowledge, so this has opened my eyes a little, even though I have always disliked this song. Id like to add, that one mistake this show has is the way the writers try to make characters look cool. Its like looking at an original characters sheet and seeing dots written next to them - cool, mysterious, unbothered, badass. And this song reeks of their priority of wanting audience think that a character is cool but failing at it. and I cant help but cringe away. (english is not my first language)
I disagree, what's important is characters acting in character and when it comes that characters like Velvete did that to a tee, I wouldn't say the priority is wanting audience to think that a character is cool (or that they failed at it) but that can be a desire of theirs at times too. Also I will say that even though it isn't your first Language your English is pretty good.
I only liked the song since it really reminded me of Don’t Lose Your Head from Six the musical, I really wonder if they took inspiration from that show?
interesting vid! and i agreed with some of your points, but i feel like the “cringy terminally quirky” vibe fits velvet here bc of the era she died in. i’m also a huge fan of when instrumentals change to fit the characters, so i thought the jarring nature of the guitars for carmilla into the poppy beat for velvet was cool bc it symbolizes velvet literally interrupting carmilla mid sentence.
I’d love to know what other songs you liked or didn’t like in the show! They were /extremely/ hit or miss for me. A lot of them suffered from having a pretty neat and consistent rhythm going then just completely detailing it to make certain characters look cool and edgy (and waaaay to many ‘fucks’ thrown in there for no reason that ultimately made them totally toothless) (Do we agree that Loser Baby and Hell Is Forever are the best ones..?)
Not to keep coming for this show but it might just have the most boring interpretation of Lucifer I’ve ever seen. They tried to a ‘he’s just a normal guy’ thing which could have worked really well but then they have to have moments of “Wooaah don’t make him mad or he’ll go all scaaary and evil on you!” and it ruined the effect for me
@@frogwhisperer2067 I don't feel like they gave him evil moments, he's a cool guy who is protective of his daughter, I can't think of any scary moments, he was chill with everyone except Alastor and Adam.
Dude, you don't even have to rhym disrespectful all the time. You can use synonyms when you write, there's no rule against it. Also, rhyming respectless with respect this is lazy to the point of cheating. You're only one step above rhyming a word with itself.
well i mean i feel like they did pretty well, it did contain a bunch of rhymes that weren't "respect this" twisted, missed it, breakfast, suspect is, headless
Ngl, I feel like language is important in musicals, especially regarding the personality of characters. I haven't watched much of Hazbin yet, but honestly, Velvette doesn't seem like the type of person to say respectless. To be honest, I can imagine her saying disrespectful, but I still don't feel that it completely matches her character (as much as I've seen so far). (P.S. Can you link the rules of lyricism you create or provide any sort of access? I've always been thinking about writing songs and poetry, and I think it would be helpful to learn from them.)
THANK YOU!!!! There was always something about this song that pissed me off and you uncovered it! It DOES feel very forced and unnecessary, but it made my brain hurt too much so I never asked myself why. Anyway 10/10 video, and I pray that the hazbin fandom doesn't crucify you for speaking the truth
I agree with most of your lyrics criticisms. A couple felt a bit nitpicky. They were things I'd excuse because I like this song. It's fun! However, in terms of "this could have been an email," the other 2 Carmilla songs and Welcome to Heaven are just as bad, if not worse. And they don't even have the same fun energy Respectless has
Yeah I'd say Carmilla's are often the worst ones, "Whatever it takes" being my least favorite in the entire series. On the contrary though I actually like Respectless a lot mostly because of Velvette.
@@SavouryGalette I mean I'm sure many people like it but it's just my personal least favorite. I see a lot of hate for "Welcome to Heaven" but it's just a whatever song to me.
"Respectless" has just the same problem as "Welcome to Heaven", which the whole fandom agrees is the worst song. It focuses on a character we don't see again and gives unnecessary information. In the case of "Respectless", it's worse because Velvet doesn't fight the angels when the time comes.
Oh my GOD thank you, I've literally never seen anybody do such an effective takedown of this song (and then contrast it with my favorite song in the whole show!!! BANGER TAKES). I think Respectless also (like a lot of Hazbin songs) suffers a lot from the eschewing of natural syllable fluctuation in favor of fitting the melody (even the way that she draws out "Respectless" is just... not how that word is pronounced). Drives me insane, and is another reason that I love Stayed Gone because it all feels right. EDIT: I'll fight you on the bloody rare line, though. "Now his medium is getting bloody rare" is the funniest line in any song in this show bar none.
I don't like Stayed Gone up until Alastor's solo because the instrumental feels off with the way the words are delivered. The lyrics are delivered as if they were just talking, with little regard... no, less than ideal regard to the rhythm, causing the instrumental to feel like it was a few notes too early or late. I wish they had delivered the lines with the rhythm of the song while still staying casual. I don't know if it's the best example of this, but the only one I can think of is The Greatest Showman's "The Other Side". It could just be me, though.
Vox's section makes sense, seeing as he is desperately trying to down play and humiliate the radio demon and it shows a contrast to Alastor very calmly and easily getting under vox's skin which leads to the end of Alastor taking over.
I actually agree, I think the rhythm just doesn't hit right, its not properly catchy to me. He's spilling over the beat a little too much but not enough to feel intentional. To me it sounds like they were trying very hard to do an exact copy of "Don't Say Yes Until I Finish Talking" from Smash, with Vox having that rapidly chattering hollywood character's personality almost exactly, but it just doesn't quite land as cleanly. It feels more amateurish. Listen to that song from Smash and see how good a fast talker ranting angrily can sound when it hits the beat exactly no matter how fast they talk. It makes you want to start doing the cha-cha lol.
It makes sense imo. Alastor is right on beat, smooth lines, because he KNOWS what he's doing. Vox is anxious, cursing, angry. It works to have him all over the place and give that "off" feeling.
@@no.8952 Alastor also sounds like he's off rhythm up until his solo, at least to me. Same with Vox before Alastor enters. So I don't think it was intentionally meant to be off-rhythm for either character.
Respectless isn’t perfect, and I agree with most your points, but it feels like you just really don’t like velvettes character. I personally like that despite being “modern” she still talks like some people did like, 5 or so years ago? You complaining that she’s “terminally quirky” is more of an “issue” with velvette that carries into respectless. Good video tho, nice job 👍
the songwriter confirmed that cringy lines like #bitch were meant to show she is a millenial who died during that time. Which makes sense since she is already an overlord and I can imagine it takes a while to gain so much power.
I saw your Wish video and loved what you had to say on it. It was really insightful and you made a lot of good points. I also agree that Respectless is one of the weakest songs from this show, but I feel like some of the points you made don't make too much sense to me (mostly because for some reason I can't get rid of the ear worm for Velvettes part). I'll try and address them in the order you presented them in. You didn't like the word Respectless being the main word of the song because it doesn't sound natural, and I agree it is a mouthful and doesn't fit well in a rhyme scheme...unless you split it into two words. I listened to the song a couple of times in the middle of writing this to make sure I wasn't just making it up but Velvettes voice actor Lilli Cooper isn't saying Respectless as one word, she's saying Respect Less. The rhyme scheme even matches that pattern- Respect This, Break Fast, Suspect Is. I think it fits well with Grime rap/Hip hop genre they're going for and also fits the characters overall introduction. The Spanish guitar strums at least to me sound like they are emphasizing the S sounds in Carmines lines. I won't die on that hill though my hearing of it could be off. I'm not actually sure why Carmine dragging out Waaay at the end is a problem, I'm not disagreeing but I don't hear anything that sounds bad about it when I listen to it. Is it just a personal opinion thing? I don't think the intent of adding words like hashtag, trending, and swiping right was the show writers attempt to be trendy or quirky. At least not in this song, couldn't say about the rest of the show. I figured the point of it when I first watched was mostly to show that Velvette was a chronically on social media 2000s girl with an ego and bad attitude. Yeah I totally understand hearing words like Hashtag Bitch and cringing but the character is meant to feel stuck in a specific era (like a lot of other characters in the show) In Velvettes case, and era that is cringe lol. kind of out of order, but by the third minute of the video I can't help but feel that you really don't like this show. I don't have a strong desire the defend it as a whole, I watched it because I like musicals and it has a Broadway cast and catchy songs. The way you talk about it though I feel like you're not a fan in general of the writing? I feel like rap is constantly pushing the bounds of "would a real person say this". I also feel like these characters aren't meant to feel 100% real. They're cartoonish, stylized, and very exaggerated to make them all feel like they come from different worlds (or eras in this case). I was going to write a counter to your end argument but then I realized that aside from the forced "quirky" bit I actually agree your overall point. I think the song is mostly a tool to introduce this character ( a character that doesn't do anything else in this season...huh...yeah no this song is really out of place at best). The end is mostly just to foreshadow the headless angel bit and You're super right it's very rushed and another verse probably would've done wonders. This feels like a mini song, an interlude bit in a musical where you can get candy or go to the bathroom at a theatre and not have to worry about missing anything important. I can't help but like it subjectively though, even with the flaws it clearly has.
YESS ASTOR!!! When i watched HH I couldnt stand some of the songs and remembering your commentaries and deconstructions I could only WISH you'd do an analysis of one the series songs. THANK YOU 😭🙏
a lot of songs in Hazbin Hotel (especially this one) feel like they're interrupting the scene instead of being a part of it. I actually immediately skipped respectless like it was an ad lol
4:03 Yeah I can see why that's a problem. I think there's two big issues contributing to that is: a) The show is packing plot for a 15-25 episode season into only 8 episodes. Since there's so much plot and only 160-240 minutes to pack all that plot in, there's a lot of telling and not showing because telling requires less time. And probably the reason why this is a song (aside from the 2 song per episode quota) rather than dialogue is because a song is shorter (and more entertaining) so it goes with that decision. It also does this with You Didn't Know. b) it's trying to tell you about characters who are going to become more relevant, just not right now. While normal fans who have seen other material like comics, the pilot episode, livestreams, etc. know more about characters like Carmilla and the Vees, and know their importance while a casual viewer who knows nothing about the show when they first click on is questioning why Velvette and Carmilla get a song (and why Carmilla even gets 3 songs) when the people getting songs should be Charlie and the gang, and Adam, the main antagonist who's the main antagonist of season 1. So it needs to try to tell you about the Vees and establish their importance when we get season 2 and they become the main antagonists than just establishing the Vees naturally because of above point.
I like Hazbin, but this has definitely always been my least favorite song. It feels very Lin Manuel Miranda kinda pop-feminism-y. Or, based on the accent, very SIX?
Like I agree about Respectless but I still like it. I actually like the lines mainly because it's fits the character. Also I think the rythm just works for me. I think the reason is because Velvette is well an influencer. Talking loud but doing nothing, it sounds like she is making a point. But if you think about it fails. I am not saying is the only way to look at it or that's what they wanted to do. Just what I see in it. It's bravado nothing more. My favorite is still Loser Baby though it's so good.
Really interesting breakdown. There were a lot of little things even other than songs that I interpreted less as terminally quirky and thoughtless and more as something that originally made more sense, but got chipped away at and cut down in order to fit as much plot into eight episodes as possible. Of course that would mean they still need to take a step back and re examine their choices with the changed context, but that's the vibe I got anyway.
3:04 Hm sounds like you are a bit biased. Velvette is meant to be a millenial who died around the time people were saying stuff like #bitch hence it is in her vocabulary and instead of coming to this conclusion (which was also confirmed by the songwriter on tiktok) you are naming it as a flaw in the song.
@@astorrhymemaster ??? you don't need to know this to not make false asumptions. The line is meant to further characterize her and you immediately jumped to the conclusion the writers are cringy. That is my issue which your "analysis", you don't relate the words to the character.
@lulenmo The vast majority of an audience, like 95% or higher, does not feel the need to dig beyond what's been presented to them. I'm not a mind reader. What's there is there, I call it as I see it. I didn't think "I wonder if she died in 2011 and that's why she speaks like that," I thought, "that felt weird and tryhard in the context that's been presented to me."
@@astorrhymemaster Not sure where you pulled that number from bc I have the feeling more poeple than you think are getting it. Otherwise the song would not be that popular. If it was a tryhard song about a ''cool" genz I wouldn't be listening to it either.
@@astorrhymemaster I think the point they're trying to make is that the point of the line (and in my own personal opinion the entire reason this song exists) Is to showcase that this character is "young" compared to the other overlords. using words like Hashtag, screaming woooo! at the end of a line all while doing it with a hiphop/Grime style beat indicating someone from a more recent age. No we don't know her exact date of birth/death but you can get the vibe that she is more modern, abrasive, overconfident, and ✨Respectless ✨! Other than moving the plot along the song is mostly used to introduce Velveta as a character.
No idea who made that annotation, but the point of "I'm the backbone of the Vs" is not to powerscale, itcs to brag... Also, using outdated cringy slang is sort of the point. The character is from the 2010s and was clearly in her "quirky bitch" phase. You cqn't really blame the song for characterizing her properly. I don't particularly like the song, mind you, but those two pieces of criticism seem wrong
The annotation probably shouldn’t have went into powerscaling, yes, but I don’t think just because velvette is “from the 2010’s” means her witty language needs to remain outdated, plus mainstream audiences will probably not enter a vivziepop stream just to see what era she died in or whatever since theres not a single context clue for it anyway
@@-keanetan everyone else speaks with era specific language, why shouldn't she? And the point is that they don't have to go look up when she's from. The vocabulary she's using is doing that characterization. Her language is the way to show when she's from
I don't know, I wouldn't agree that songs for unlikeable characters have to be unlikeable themselves. Think about Gaston, or How Bad Can I Be, or Poor Unfortunate Souls. The characters those songs are focused on are absolutely meant to be seen in a negative light, but all those songs are bops.
this channel has made me think about music in a different way. I've never watched Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss but I've definitely heard divisive opinions on the music.
OH THANK GOD. i thought i was going crazy with all the people around me praising respectless. The lyrics just feel so… clunky. like it’s a first draft stream of conciousness
that's not even close to being true Jeremy Jordan and Alex Brightman are just 2 examples also the songs she's in are not the worst in the show your telling me you think Whatever It Takes Out For Love and Respect less are worse than Welcome To Heaven and It Starts With Sorry?
@@VelvetteSimp I love her voice, but it feels like the songs she sings aren't letting her use it properly. It's really weird to listen to. I wouldn't call them the worst songs but I find a lot of things in this show unnecessary, so those songs coincide with the things that I wish didn't happen lol. (Hello, u didn't ask me but I like saying my opinion!)
the thing about respectless is that because it's such an underused word most people in the general public will now associate it with this song and by extension this show
thought i was the only person who thought this about respectless- thank u for this. also yes stayed gone is just so good it flows so nicely pls fix ur audio tho its on full blast in an empty room rn and still so quiet
Omg THANK YOUUU 1:38 “if you can’t find a good rhyme for a word, choose a different word” I have this weird issue with the new movie Wonka’s songs, because they take words that aren’t even possible of rhyming to rhyme, but with the song scrub scrub, they say “then you take it to the mangle and you turn the giant handle” when they take words like chocolate and pocket and rhyme them but can’t find a WAY TO RHYME HANDLE TO MANGLE OR SOMETHING??(also sorry for the totally not the point comment I just heard that and said yes lol
i feel like the writing team just felt like the angel head was a reveal so big it earned a song. instead of, you know, foreshadowing smartly that carmilla was involved and make it a tense moment
"The character reeks of trying very hard to be quirky in that marketable internet way that will become outdated in a year" I do think this is true of most of Hazbin as a whole, but wouldn't that be entirely appropriate for the trend-chasing "social media" demon?
It may be embarrassing but it’s still the only Hazbin song that I’ll listen to in my free time. I like the music enough to ignore what the lyrics mean. The only parts I dislike are as you said, the way Carmine feels the need to extend the word "way". And I also find the abrupt last line really corny.
hells greatest dad, I wanna see if your gushing like the others OR you have more critique with others and for the back bones of the vees line I think it'll come back later with her starting to get bitchy about being better than the other 2
Haven't started the vid yet further than mentioning the problem with the title and hook, but I am so glad that someone is pointing out the issues in this song cause while the groove of the backing music is fun I hate trying to sing most of it cause every time Respectless is used in the song I always found the speed became very awkward and my tongue would fumble over the words around it when trying to sing it.
Surprising how this song is the second most listened to if we go off the official Amazon prime RUclips channel- also the analysis you did was very good!
I think the funniest part about Respectless is the fact that it was immediately followed by a superior song. First off, even people who have never made a musical know that you typically need to space out the songs so that they're not crammed together like sardines (there IS a way to make back-to-back songs work but this ain't it chief), and secondly, all it did was provide a stark contrast that made the previous song look even worse.
I saw another video that talked about how Respectless is the best character introduction to Velvette. It’s kinda pointless because she was introduced earlier, but the video does brush on how it establishes Velvette in its limited run time. I agree with a lot of points in your video (despite the fact I think this song goes hard) so I recommend it!
Hazin feels like its been rewritten multiple times, but still goes back to an original source, which is a notebook from 2007 which has charcter outlines somewhere between all the Gerard Way fanfiction. A lot of things that should have been cut, or were written for a previous draft of a character, or are setting up deep lore we won't see for seasons. You probably could have cut all the Vs except Valentino, tbh. Feels like they were added a season early just so Alastor could have a song with Vox.
oh hey, was wondering if you'd cover HH as a very recent fan of the creator's shows (never really clicked with me until this year), the forced quirkiness of the musical segments was definitely one of the biggest hurdles to enjoying it and was probably one of the biggest problems that caused my friends to completely bounce off of it. they needed to ease off the 2 songs per episode goal-stick to the ones that they have time to polish *and* which meaningfully move the story along (Hell's Greatest Dad is a nice tune, but a total plot cul-de-sac) helluva boss has a better batting average since the songs usually only crop up when they're useful to the story
THANK YOU My friend and I were ranking HH songs and for some reason they decided that respectless is one of the best songs and I just straight up went "not for me." The melody is so grating to my ears and I think it's my least favorite song in the show. That or Hell is Forever, which I have a lot of the same problems with
As I've listened to this more, I've actually found myself enjoying it more, and I am a hazbin fan up front, but i think one thing I can say with certainty is how well this song characterises velvette as a character. Its job is to do that, which I think you kinda missed, and it seems like you haven't really watched the show properly. Most of the context of the Vees is that they embody certain forms of media, and so jumping all over the place within a short song whilst only making one key point throughout is a perfect representation of social media, which you touched on but didn't really explore. Like maybe thats just me, but I actually believe that much of your complaint about respectless is actually the point of the song.
I will say that, in the case of Respectless, it supposed to be kinda embarrassing. It's displaying one of Velvet's key weaknesses as a character; she thinks she's the smartest, wittiest, strongest person in the room, even when she very much isn't. You ask what this song does, and it does more than end a conversation; it establishes character flaws. Velvet's "I do what I want" attitude is character writing 101; Furthermore, this also sets up the line about her being the Vee's backbone. We know the Vees are very likely going to be our Season 2 villains, and this song convinced me that Velvet is likely the only one of the Vees who will probably survive and go on to be humbled. The Vee's "backbone" is not as strong or smart or witty as she imagines herself to be. She has a good voice, but that is leagues above her skill, which is sorely lacking. She sings louder than others to drown out their opinions, and yes quirkiness is her weapon. Her and the Vees are gimmicky people; Vee is an online persona and quirky people tend to sell online. At the end of the day, while I think the song is weak for the reasons you described, I see it more as character development for Velvet. I don't think it's a coincidence that the weakest parts in what you're saying is Hazbin's weakest song is sun by someone we are supposed to perceive as wielding imagined strength. Though I find it hilarious that you make the comment about how the song reeks of bring "quirky in that marketable internet way" which is *entirely* Velvet's brand. That is 100% her whole personality.
Very glad this exists. I didn’t like this song when I first listened to despite being a hazbin fan, and I couldn’t place why. Now I understand, and I do agree with a lot of the points made here. Even if the song has grown on me, it still would’ve been better as a tense scene-playful dialogue from Velvette would’ve worked better as well and would be very fun. Although I can’t really fault the writers for the short songs, considering how jammed and rushed the storyline is (most likely due to Amazon cutting the runtime down :])
It’s so odd because I agree with every criticism you’re making but inexplicably I can’t not enjoy this song. I have no clue why it just hits for me despite not being that great.
I really love Respectless because it's not meant to be good! Velvette is someone who died around 2010 at the age of around 21 and speaks with slang words so the point is that it's meant to sound like an improvised hype song wrote in the 2000s Sometimes a song's lyrics abd vibes don't have to be perfect as long as they fit the character. In this case, Vel is arrogant, annoying and fairly young so the kind of pointless nature fits for someone with those traits
imo if they were going for that they could've leaned a little more into her immaturity and made it more of an "unintentionally" comedic song, though i see what you mean
My main problem with it is the fact that they hired an American to do an English accent. It sounds like they told her to just ‘make it sound British’ and left it at that.
I thought Hazbin was just okay, so I've only seen it once and that was a few months ago, but my general impression of the songs was that the story suffered from some sort of X songs an episode mandate or rule, leading to a bunch of songs that seemed pretty pointless. I barely remember most of them even if on the surface they seemed good. Stayed Gone is a good example of this. From what I remember, the song is good, but it gives you the impression that there's about to be some epic battle between the TV guy and Alastor. But the TV guy does all of nothing in season one (thus me blanking on his name), so why open the season with a song establishing this villain? It lessens the emotional impact of Stayed Gone because it's just filler content that would have been better spent developing the Hotel patrons.
I would like to defend one of Velvette's choices a bit because I think there's an element missing in this analysis. Velvette isn't the "hip new thing", she's the hip new POWER. She's not a social media user or even an influencer: she's a social media developer and marketing executive. No, nobody in common parlance actually says "hashtag" out loud. But I believe I've heard media executives do it in interviews, and I've seen it in programs that think they're being hip with the kids. Realistically, these people are probably playing it up for the camera and, in an actual conversation, wouldn't talk like this, but I do think Velvette is playing it up for the Overlords in-character. I'm surprised you didn't rag on the random "WOOO!!!" she does, though. It's an affectation to "do as I please," but doing as you please doesn't tend to say any random noises for the sake of... well, yeah, quirkiness.
I always say that the only people who know what they're doing in the production team of Hazbin Hotel are the musicians and actors. Because songs feel great on their own. And... that's it, ON THEIR OWN. . Altho I like that the song seems to be clashing between it's 2 parts - Carmilla's and Velvet's. Because this is an argument, and yes, Velvett's parts are cringy and too "hip and modern"... because she's a dead millenial influencer who is all about "trying too hard". That's her whole thing I think it's in character plus it shows how she's the one for "progress and action" while Carmilla is the one "set in her ways and more classic". . I'm mad at the lenght of the songs too... and the episodes... and many other things.
I didn't love Respectless when I first heard it, but it's definitely grown on me as I've listened to it more. I still like it better than Hell's Greatest Dad (I'm sorry!)
I'm glad I'm not the only person who disliked this song. I do not understand why it's so popular. Even when I was watching it, I remember being a little uncomfy. At the time I chocked it up to me not liking bitchy characters, which is weird, cause Vivsie shows normally have enjoyable bitchy characters. But yeah, "I'm a hashtag bitch" made me cringe. I'd also point out it makes no sense from a storytelling perspective. Velvet says she wants to fight the angels, and then when other characters do fight the angels, she's hauled up in her bunker and doesn't seem to care. The only V who is invested is Vox because he wants to see Al die. Also Velvet doesn't do anything after "Respectless." Why was this song given to her? Well I know why. The writers had this character lying around and they needed her to do something. For the supposed backbone of the Vs, she's pretty abdent. Vox acts like the backbone of the Vs. Here's how I'd fix it. Give it to Alastor. Obviously you'd have to rework the instrumentals and lyrics to fit the character, but the basic idea that Alastor's motive is to gain others' respect and fear, while he maintains this aloof devil-may-care attitude like he's above how others think of him, while in reality being very thin-skinned. He was even slighted earlier in the meeting when Camilla said she didn't wonder what he did when he was gone. Al would also be a much better contrast to Camilla's down-to-earth focus on self-preservation than just some mouthy braggart we barely see again. And Al, y'know, FIGHTS THE ANGELS HE SAYS HE WANTS TO FIGHT. Broadly, Hazbin's great, but this song and "Welcome to Heaven" are two go-to how-tos on how not to write a showtune. I think what happened is that the songwriters had a quota of two songs per episode so they stuck songs where there shouldn't be. They could've cut this song to make room for an Adam attack song in the final episode.
Respectfully, I think you need to take a better look at what is shown to you, and not only told. 1. "I'm a hashtag bitch" is exactly the kind of thing a millenial would've said in in 2015. And guess what? It is bc the show wants you to know she is one which is why her vobabulary is somewhat modern but outdated to a point one cringes. It is meant to be that way (confirmed by the songwriter Sam Haft on tiktok) 2. Characters can tell you all kinds of things they want to do and not actually do them after in order to show they are either hypocritical or have a secret plan. It tells you more about them and is not a plot hole in this case. When the vees are sitting on their asses in the final episode, watching everyone at the hotel fight for their life it is to make clear they don't want to get their hands dirty themselves. They would rather see the the cannibals and other overlords die fighting so the vees can take over more of hell. It's made pretty clear in their part of the song too.
The whole point of the song is to make the overlords go into battle without a second thought so the Vees can fully rule over the pride ring. I thought that was pretty clear from the beginning but the final song kind of proves it with the Vees verse. I feel like the song fulfilled its purpose well, not every song needs to be super long to get its point across.
@@epicshauntedlibrary1414 Having thought it over, I do think you're right. It even fits with Velvet being the demon of social media, since plenty of net users get pushed into trends by peer pressure, like swallowing tide pods.
I also found respectless a bit odd in themeing too. it seems like she's saying that people disrespect her so she's "sticking it to the man" kinda but we're not really shown this and she was the one to be initially disrespectful in this scene anyway. so like what is she talking about?
I was so disappointed in Hazbin's music. With most songs I was just waiting for them to end. I don't get it. The song you pointed out as a good example was AMAZING, and Helluva Boss has some really good songs in it. So why did so many Hazbin Hotel songs leave me just sitting there hoping they'll end as soon as possible?
I love this song! I think Velvette is meant to be cringey in the way that social media obsessed kids can be at times. I think by the time we watch it, it already feels obsolete, just like Alastor's "Radio show" and Vox as a TV. I love the contrast of vocabulary between the older characters and then Velvette who has absolutely no sense of how she comes off to anyone because she's so arrogant. I heard the song before I watched the show and it was part of what drew me in!
My main problem with this song is mostly the fact that Velvette (and Vox for that matter) are both irrelevant characters for this season who they seemed to just give songs for the sake of making people interested in and keep note of them for later. Funny that Valentino, the only one of the Vees who has a relevant connection to a main character that's important this season does not have his own song at all.
@@TekTheNinjaI think the plot for season 1 was all over the place. Clearly these characters have existed for a long time and I’m assuming the creator is pretty attached to them, because of this (and not knowing if they’d get another season) I think they tried to cram them all in instead of introducing new characters at a more reasonable pace, honestly it’s one of the shows biggest detriments imo
I personally really don't like Vox's introduction line in Stayed Gone. Couldn't he have just slant rhymed "home" with a more rhyme-y version of "Gone" by putting more of an emphasis on the "gOOne"
I don’t think Astor said that you aren’t allowed to like the song anywhere in the video. Hell I think the song is catchy enough while giving a decent character introduction to velvet as an arrogant overlord fed up with the inaction of the other older and more cautious overlords. Someone else’s opinion on the internet doesn’t have to have any sway over how much you like something.
Yeah, this one wasn’t my favorite either. I physically cringed the first time I heard “hashtag” 😖 Also, I think that “bloody rare” comment is a jab at Alastor being a cannibal, which is why they would have forced it in lmao
As a Hazbin Hotel fan, I really like this video and agree with your opinions ! Tbh, in my opinion, you should make more Hazbin videos, this was great ! :D
The Respectless song is just really meant to be a bop while letting us know more a bit more of Velvette's personality, nothing more. I understand and agree with some of your criticisms of it, but some elements of your criticism here seem nitpicky.
Agreed. This has to do with the overall rushed feeling of the season, but important character beats/characterizations were put into song rather than dialogue or slower moments (I blame Amazon). So I think Respectless doubles as a song used to characterize Velvette as a person. Without it, it’s harder to know who she is as a character since the show didn’t really have time. It’s like a crash course on Velvette- I had no idea she was the social media kid since previously she’d been introduced as some fashion designer.
let's be real the most embarrassing song is Out For Love because it's completely antithetical to the entire surrounding context.
Out for Love is part of the plot she gets her wings back, they get the weapons, and uses them in the final battle
Out for love has horrible lyrics but its still a pretty good song
@@YandelColon69”is a training song”
What does that even mean? What does that matter? Is that even a real term used to sub-categorize songs?
Rewatching that Respectless scene just made me think it’d sound more interesting if it wasn’t a song and was just a tense scene
I honestly think a song about the redemption thing in ep 3 would have been better
This is why I wasn't onboard with the idea of Hazbin Hotel being a musical. While the songs were decent, it is stuff like the Respectless and maybe even the 'You don't know' scene is where it is best if it wasn't a musical number and instead being a tense drama scene

Is there _any_ song in Wish that's even well-written?
well, no not really
@@dpkave Yes really
@@TheUnmitigatedDawn i respect your stance but personally i dont believe either of the two are better than the other, they both have their issues i cant quite look past yk. though i do agree its always fun to poke fun at how much disney has fallen
I honestly would adore if you analyzed "You didnt know" not just cause its a personal fav, but because i find it so jumbled that its perfect for dissecting, imo atleast
I'd like to add in my two cents because although I've warmed up to it more, it's still by far not my favourite song.
(spoiler warning)
While Astor can dissect the rhymes, I cannot.
@@elsa_g Valid lol.
@@elsa_g Agreed but it mostly did focus on one big topic, I still think the Vaggie reveal could have been cut out of the song itself though.
I absolutely had a problem with Respectless when I first heard it. You said it perfectly with “This could’ve just been an email, or in this case, dialogue”. That scene had a lot of potential that I think was tarnished by a mid song
Nah this songs was great! It doesn't fit in a musical but don't say it's a bad song, actually say what you want, it's your opinion I should accept pt not everyone will like it
I don't see how it's mid or bad, it could just be dialogue but the exchange would work a lot better as a song tbh.
becuase im an RPer it really sounded like to me it belonged in RP.
My same thoughts I feel like it would’ve flowed better as a conversation rather than a song. To me it felt like so much was being said and I kept feeling like I’m missing stuff. I think if it was a conversation that would’ve been easier for me to process the information
It could’ve just been dialogue but the song is really good, so I think it was a good choice
Tbh Hazbin Hotel songs either sound they could like actual songs, or they struggle to make it past a minute

As forced as the "Medium is getting bloody rare" verse may be, I absolutely love that line.
Totally agree with your assessment overall though.
you’ve filled the hole in my heart left by the disappearance of Sideways

"Loser, Baby" and "Poison" are easily the best written songs in the entire show.

Agree to disagree Lin Manuel Miranda is an excellent songwriter
Lin-Manuel Miranda is a far stronger songwriter than Haft or Underberg and I love Hazbin's music.
Songs like Satisfied and Yorktown are phenomenally written
I dunno...I feel like it works at least for someone like Velvette.
With both Six and Velvette, I'm picking up strong Lilly Allen inspiration with her regional accent.
@@-keanetan supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Same, while I do like this song just fine I always felt like something was slightly off
I only liked the song since it really reminded me of Don’t Lose Your Head from Six the musical, I really wonder if they took inspiration from that show?
I think they both took strong inspiration from Lilly Allen
interesting vid! and i agreed with some of your points, but i feel like the “cringy terminally quirky” vibe fits velvet here bc of the era she died in. i’m also a huge fan of when instrumentals change to fit the characters, so i thought the jarring nature of the guitars for carmilla into the poppy beat for velvet was cool bc it symbolizes velvet literally interrupting carmilla mid sentence.
I’d love to know what other songs you liked or didn’t like in the show! They were /extremely/ hit or miss for me. A lot of them suffered from having a pretty neat and consistent rhythm going then just completely detailing it to make certain characters look cool and edgy (and waaaay to many ‘fucks’ thrown in there for no reason that ultimately made them totally toothless)
(Do we agree that Loser Baby and Hell Is Forever are the best ones..?)

You're only one step above rhyming a word with itself.
well i mean i feel like they did pretty well, it did contain a bunch of rhymes that weren't "respect this"
twisted, missed it, breakfast, suspect is, headless
@TekTheNinja Same I think the song fits her character well
Is it bad that I kind of dig Whatever It Takes, or no?
I think she might’ve missed the double meaning on that line because it is honestly one of my favourites in the show
I don't like Stayed Gone up until Alastor's solo because the instrumental feels off with the way the words are delivered.
@@lulenmo exactly! It fits pretty well for her character!
Yeah it's an argument between a terminally online chick and a mother of 2
I saw your Wish video and loved what you had to say on it.
I think there's two big issues contributing to that is:
a) The show is packing plot for a 15-25 episode season into only 8 episodes.
Great video as always, though I could barely hear anything as it was so quiet
I like Hazbin, but this has definitely always been my least favorite song. It feels very Lin Manuel Miranda kinda pop-feminism-y. Or, based on the accent, very SIX?
I really like respectless, also, Velvette died in 2014, her way of talking will be outdated
Super under rated video!! I feel like I learned a lot and the jokes were really funny but didn't get in the way of the information
Can you do this for the rest of the Hazbin Hotel songs???? I love you you break down the song lyrics into easily understandable bits
I love Hazbin Hotel, but I also learn a lot from your videos. Please don’t be afraid to make videos on popular topics.
How would I know this just by watching the show
@@astorrhymemaster ??? you don't need to know this to not make false asumptions.
Her language is the way to show when she's from
@@m1g4s ok forget what I said about context clues. She’s the overlord of social media, and social media is about keeping up with trends, ‘nuff said.
Odd, because from what I've seem the music easily the most praised aspect of it.
I thought the music was the part people liked the most lmao
OH THANK GOD. i thought i was going crazy with all the people around me praising respectless. The lyrics just feel so… clunky. like it’s a first draft stream of conciousness
It's unfortunate that Carmilla's VA has arguably the best singing ability in the cast but the 3 songs she's in are the worst.
that's not even close to being true Jeremy Jordan and Alex Brightman are just 2 examples also the songs she's in are not the worst in the show your telling me you think Whatever It Takes Out For Love and Respect less are worse than Welcome To Heaven and It Starts With Sorry?
@@VelvetteSimp I love her voice, but it feels like the songs she sings aren't letting her use it properly. It's really weird to listen to.
I wouldn't call them the worst songs but I find a lot of things in this show unnecessary, so those songs coincide with the things that I wish didn't happen lol.
(Hello, u didn't ask me but I like saying my opinion!)
@@VelvetteSimp rabid fan spotted
the thing about respectless is that because it's such an underused word most people in the general public will now associate it with this song and by extension this show
thought i was the only person who thought this about respectless- thank u for this. also yes stayed gone is just so good it flows so nicely
pls fix ur audio tho its on full blast in an empty room rn and still so quiet
Omg THANK YOUUU 1:38 “if you can’t find a good rhyme for a word, choose a different word” I have this weird issue with the new movie Wonka’s songs, because they take words that aren’t even possible of rhyming to rhyme, but with the song scrub scrub, they say “then you take it to the mangle and you turn the giant handle” when they take words like chocolate and pocket and rhyme them but can’t find a WAY TO RHYME HANDLE TO MANGLE OR SOMETHING??(also sorry for the totally not the point comment I just heard that and said yes lol
Be fr Welcome to Heaven and Whatever it Takes are the worst ones
i feel like the writing team just felt like the angel head was a reveal so big it earned a song. instead of, you know, foreshadowing smartly that carmilla was involved and make it a tense moment
I'm so sorry but the volume is actually so low, I can barely hear it.
"The character reeks of trying very hard to be quirky in that marketable internet way that will become outdated in a year"
I do think this is true of most of Hazbin as a whole, but wouldn't that be entirely appropriate for the trend-chasing "social media" demon?
It may be embarrassing but it’s still the only Hazbin song that I’ll listen to in my free time. I like the music enough to ignore what the lyrics mean.
The only parts I dislike are as you said, the way Carmine feels the need to extend the word "way". And I also find the abrupt last line really corny.
Same, along with Loser Baby obviously
hells greatest dad, I wanna see if your gushing like the others OR you have more critique with others and for the back bones of the vees line I think it'll come back later with her starting to get bitchy about being better than the other 2
Please do the rest of the songs!
Pretty fair criticisms, I liked the song but I can see why other don't now.
To be fair, even when I do get what's wrong with respectless I can't help my monkey brain liking it
I saw another video that talked about how Respectless is the best character introduction to Velvette.
Feels like they were added a season early just so Alastor could have a song with Vox.
oh hey, was wondering if you'd cover HH
as a very recent fan of the creator's shows (never really clicked with me until this year), the forced quirkiness of the musical segments was definitely one of the biggest hurdles to enjoying it and was probably one of the biggest problems that caused my friends to completely bounce off of it. they needed to ease off the 2 songs per episode goal-stick to the ones that they have time to polish *and* which meaningfully move the story along (Hell's Greatest Dad is a nice tune, but a total plot cul-de-sac)
helluva boss has a better batting average since the songs usually only crop up when they're useful to the story
THANK YOU
My friend and I were ranking HH songs and for some reason they decided that respectless is one of the best songs and I just straight up went "not for me."
The melody is so grating to my ears and I think it's my least favorite song in the show.
Velvette has no lines after this
I like the instrumental of respectless but the lyrics are bad. I enjoy hazbin but also hate it tbh.
Same
I will say that, in the case of Respectless, it supposed to be kinda embarrassing.
Always love it when you upload your videos are really entertaining keep it up 👍
I was gonna avoid this show like the black plague but then I heard More Than Anything and was like “well damn, maybe”
I was going to avoid it too until I saw the cast list… can’t escape my theatre kid roots
Finally someone who understands this song as a yikes. I left the room to let that song run, and I loved the bulk of the rest of the songs.
I really like hearing your thoughts on the hazbin soundtrack
It’s so odd because I agree with every criticism you’re making but inexplicably I can’t not enjoy this song. I have no clue why it just hits for me despite not being that great.
I was very nice to the songs in Hazbin because while they’re going on the regular dialogue isn’t happening.
I really love Respectless because it's not meant to be good!
Velvette is someone who died around 2010 at the age of around 21 and speaks with slang words so the point is that it's meant to sound like an improvised hype song wrote in the 2000s
Sometimes a song's lyrics abd vibes don't have to be perfect as long as they fit the character. In this case, Vel is arrogant, annoying and fairly young so the kind of pointless nature fits for someone with those traits
imo if they were going for that they could've leaned a little more into her immaturity and made it more of an "unintentionally" comedic song, though i see what you mean
What do you mean its not meant to be good?
YOU FORGOT THE EXISTENCE OF THE VEES??? ALREADY?!?! HFNFKEJFHGJDKDKF THIS SHOW ISTG
Where did the AL go to in your channel name? XD
I loved hazbin hotel but I think the song writing could have been better in some of the songs.
I always liked Respectless because of Velvette's accent
Sameee, I only like Lucifers First part
Al is also a mouthy braggart, but he's classier about it and has a bite to match his bark.
It is meant to be that way (confirmed by the songwriter Sam Haft on tiktok)
Probably the style of music just wasnt your thing.
Interested in more Hazbin content even if this one was actually one of my favorite songs from the series lol
@TekTheNinja Vox and Velvette are literally only here to sing some great songs then never appear again until the finale
@@VelvetteSimp Exactly it feels like they're being set up as important for another season but for now they don't really do much.
Lilli Cooper deserved better 😔
I personally really don't like Vox's introduction line in Stayed Gone.
Couldn't he have just slant rhymed "home" with a more rhyme-y version of "Gone" by putting more of an emphasis on the "gOOne"
Respectless could've been a good song lyrically, but it feels like the writers were going for a "Hip wit da kidz" route
Uhhhh I kinda listen to that song a lot sooo is it okay to just enjoy a song without it having problems?
Sure but theres nothing wrong with looking at stuff you love critically
I don’t think Astor said that you aren’t allowed to like the song anywhere in the video. Hell I think the song is catchy enough while giving a decent character introduction to velvet as an arrogant overlord fed up with the inaction of the other older and more cautious overlords. Someone else’s opinion on the internet doesn’t have to have any sway over how much you like something.
@invexes 😕
You don't need to ask for permission for that
@invexesthat is not at all what the video is trying to say. Way to shove words in someone’s mouth 😑
Cailyxn cares too much did a great video on improving the lyrics of this song and how she would rewrite them
Honestly disrespectful would be a much better name for a song too and would be better in terms of Carmine's parts.
Ngl i thought they made up the word respectless it sounds so weird
"Hazbin has to hazbin all over the place" is one of cleverest puns I've heard in a long while
is the volume kinda low on this video?
hm. oh well, i like it.
Yeah, this one wasn’t my favorite either. I physically cringed the first time I heard “hashtag” 😖
Also, I think that “bloody rare” comment is a jab at Alastor being a cannibal, which is why they would have forced it in lmao
As a Hazbin Hotel fan, I really like this video and agree with your opinions ! Tbh, in my opinion, you should make more Hazbin videos, this was great ! :D
Lmao i love “hazbin has to hazbin all over the place”
But she isn't relevant to the plot ultimately so we don't really need to know much about her
