How To Cut Patches -- Bonus: Heat Pressing a Patch on a Hat
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 11 июл 2024
- Today it's all about cutting and finishing patches the old fashion way. With a pair of scissors and some heat, I am going to prepare our patch ready for production. As a bonus, I am heat pressing our patch onto a dad hat ready for use.

Romero, my friend! a most excellent video my friend! You da patch king!!!
Thank you! Great video!
Good video thanks
Hello...that came out great...Thank you
Thank you!
Good
i like to add some frey check before hand too just incase I cut too close it wont unravel
Great vid! You used poly twill for patches are you able to use cotton twill?
You can use cotton, but Im not a big fan of the finish edges. But Ive seen people do some good work with cotton twill so it can be done.
You do great work Romero. 👍🏾 In this video as your cut away stabilizer you are using another fabric correct. Not the paper blend type of cutaway from amazon?
Thanks. Im using 2.5 oz cut away from All Stitch. I put the link w/ all the details in the description. They're made of polyester.
@@RomeroThreads I also followed you on Instagram. Hopefully we can collaborate one day. I can learn a lot from you and perhaps contribute to your channel.
Sounds like a plan. Im all about working, learning and teaching w/ all my fellow embroiderers.
@@RomeroThreads 🙏🏾 Same here bro. I give credit when credit is due. You got your MT-1501 down packed. I still have a few functional that I need to learn. I’m watching bro. I’ll dm you on Instagram.
I use Stahls Poly Twill with Heat Seal. We've had issues lately with thread breaks. Would you recommend using their uncoated twill? We do not heat press these patches but sell for our customers to sew on. What do you use? Thanks
There are mainly 2 kinds of heat seal, temporary used for appliqué type projects and permanent used for after embroidery. I prefer to use the uncoated then heat seal at the very end.
@@RomeroThreads I appreciate that. Would you agree that jobs run smoother, with less breaks with uncoated?
So did you embroidered the patch with the adhesive already on the back ?
No, i placed the adhesive after I embroidered, then I cut the patch.
Hello, other than Heat and Bond Ultra, which is a better option for iron on adhesive patches?
You can get adhesive from Gunold, Twill USA, Stahls, Madiera, All Stitch, etc… those are the commercial adhesive, way better than Heat and Bond.
Are you from El Salvador?
Yea, Soyapango, ES.
@@RomeroThreads Yo soy de Nicaragua y conozco muchos Salvadoreños. Son muy trabajadores. BTW thanks for the pitbull design I'm gonna try it out tomorrow. How come you don't use chroma for digitizing?
Ive been using Wilcom from the beginning. I got Chroma w/ my 2nd machine but I haven't installed it yet. Wilcom is just industry standard. Maybe one day if I get some time, i'll mess w/ my Chroma software.
Nice yo soy de la Guadalupe nice to see u exel👍🇳🇮
This video is great, but what’s the point if you can only charge $4.00 for a 2.5” patch that takes a hour to make and the machine is $10,000.00 to buy?
You wouldn't charge 4 bucks.
@@RomeroThreads I've seen on many e-commerce sites they sell for $3-6 I can't see working for an hour to make after all expenses one dollar, maybe if it was a pre-made patch that you sublimate on, but this is just not worth it. Now, if you have a video showing how to make more per hour I'd be interested in see it. Do you?
...I didn't think so.
