i was not aware how many steps and production process was involved past the initial art/vectorizing. i was considering getting my art onto some embroidery patches, but i think it might be easier for me to just outsource that step once done in chroma. thanks for the video regardless
Awesome video. I think I’m going to ditch Wilcom for Chroma as I am a heavy Illustrator user for my screen printing business. I only use a PC for digitizing and it can be a struggle. That being said, what kind of adhesive do you use on the back?
AWESOME!!! I’m eager to buy your new Rattle Can w/Gold Thread joint!!!!! You ever think of doing Masters of the Universe or the BLUE DIVA from The 5Th Element😱?
You said you don’t use the Beamo to cut your patches during production. What do you use? Example: If I was going to make 50 patches what should I use to get that clean professional look?
Can’t do all vectorizing, digitizing and the svg file with Wilcom? Just do once, at least for me, Wilcom does all 3. Why do three times the same thing? I don’t understand.😅
@@theproperpatch even Miami do you think we could see each other one of these days I’m legally blind and I’m going to be the first person that’s doing embroidery hey I’m going to be going to the headquarters of Racoma
Hey Danny - If you are referring to the density (Layers of thread) in the fill, then I would set that 0.40 mm. If the thread is a light color on a dark material I will set it at 3.0mm so that the fabric doesn't bleed through. I also use created a test sheet to see how the settings change the design: You can download the test sheet here: share.getcloudapp.com/v1u060XK
@@theproperpatch Yes, thanks, that is precisely what I was referring to. Thank you for the test sheet! i've been doing something similar with the direction of the stitching and trying to decide what works best depending on what part of the design i'm digitizing. i'm excited to do more experiments with this
I also have Chroma luxe and a Ricoma machine, I’m having trouble saving the file as a DST file on my Mac in order to put it on the machine. Any suggestions I’m finding nothing about it anywhere.
The buzz cut for the back of the patch is so smart!!
Love the clipper trick. Was looking to figure out the best way to cut them out so close but I don’t have a laser cutter
Who could even comprehend all of this? This is for a embroidery scientist.

Extremely helpful video as I get into this new area of learning. Thank you so much for the clear, thorough, visual walk-through of your process.

Very nice work! What type of fabric do you most often use?

Would not be a great solution for 50 patches. - Would need more of industrial laser -
@@markunger7189 Thank you
Dude your awesome this is super dope
why wouldnt you just import the .ai file into Chroma instead of recreating it in AI and then Chroma?

you are owesome buddy
I couldn’t do this if somebody was threatening to blow my brains out this gave high anxiety why is it so hard but so east to you
@the proper patch what software do you use for laser cutting and camera?
I use a Beamo Laser Cutter and the software is called Beam Studio. Works pretty well and I will put up a video shortly of how I do it.

When digitizing the design, is there a particular spacing in the fill stitch that you find works best?

When you go and save the file manually put type the .dst extension after the file name and hit save - That works for me…
