      actors are only as good as the script. if a strong actor is given a strong script, we get movies like Taxi Driver. if a strong actor gets a bad script, we get this shit. noah is a good actor, we see that with his insane performance in season 2 of stranger things, but he's still young and inexperienced, if the best of the best actors cant do a great job in movies with bad a script and a bad director, how do we expect this fucking guy to do an alright job?

      @@the.44magnumisamonsterI would say it's 50/50 because an actor can do well even with a bad script, just like an actor can be bad with a good script. It's not just script that can impact the performance but also the skill of the actor, not to mention a director might want a scene to performed a certain way, actors are not given freedom to explore the character to add or change the script in anyway, or the script itself being edited through out the production. It's just one of those risks you have to take when creating anything with a team, which unfortunately can affect future jobs.

    OK but since Noah's voice dropped, he lost like 90% of his ability to be expressive in his acting so now he just sounds, like, incredibly generic. The reason his character works so well in Stranger Things S1-2 is pretty exclusively due to his voice and how innocent and convincingly scared he sounded pre-puberty.

    • @sleepflower93
      @sleepflower93 3 месяца назад +6

      I would say it probably has more to do with him becoming famous at such a young age, developing a strange, flat sounding dialect, almost similar to vocal fry. It's a sort of Hollywood/LA accent in a way. Can happen to people when they spend of a lot of time hearing the same accents, in real life or on the internet.
      Also since season 2, he hasn't had as many opportunities to act in the same way. The plotline centering around Will and Joyce as been resolved, and they have introduced so many characters in Stranger Things now that it often doesn't focus on any one character for too long.

    This is an absurdly stupid twist. What is the point of any of the things Jackson does in this film? If this is ultimately about revenge, why do this convoluted plot thats brimming with things that can go wrong. This is a gjy you know is a killer why are you willingly making yourself look like a stalker to him

    honestly, up until 9:15 where I am, The tutor hasnt really done a lot to build a relationship with the kid, he just thinks he's "creepy," which is weird, because he mentions that he thinks jackson may be on the spectrum. Sure, he's a bit odd, and clearly snoops, but to be fair in the teachers mind, if jackson was autistic, those behavious wouldnt be creepy, they'd be more cautionary and curious. When he asks about the baby, and asks if he minds having a bastard, it's said very literally, from what he knows and has found out about his teacher. most autistic people already have a difficult time with strangers in our homes, so googling or looking up a person's public information online is a safe way a lot of autiscs vet strangers who may be staying at their home for awhile. Hell, he could have at least Waved at the kid or something when he saw him watching him through the window, like normal person would seeing somebody they know looking out the window outside or checking on them. Even later the kid straight up says "My dad is never around, he doesnt even like me, he literally sent my mother away," And then this kids tutor basically tells him hes not interested and doesnt care. Bro?? Youre about to be a whole father and your job is educating kids and you cant just comfort this poor kid for awhile and do some dad-ly things with him?? really? It seems like the sessions arent that long, and he has plenty of free time around the property to roam and take photos. Take jackson with you?? He already showed an interest in photography and everything. So far, the tutor is the most frustrating part of this watch for sure
    edit for even worse crap this teacher does: Talking mad shit about his student, to other grown adults, and degrading him for his mental illness/perceived mental illness, literally asking ihs adult peers how "the kid (jackson) can live with himself,"; No normal adult would do this, what the hell is wrong with this guy? Yes, by this point Jackson is being incredibly inappropriate, even to the point where law enforcement should potentially get involved for the protection of the tutor and his family, as well as giving jackson ACTUAL information about stalking, and how stalking isnt the appropriate way to build a relationship with anybody period. For this point in the story when the tutor accepts the position again, he should already be prepared to set boundaries with jackson and look to be a supporting figure. Yes the position is a lot of money, but first and foremost the guy is supposed to be an educator and has no clue how to work wit disabled students. He literally ties to GRAB jackson while hes having a meltdown, which can really do more harm than good more often than not. This teacher is a piece of work for sure

      The problem is just because he’s autistic doesn’t mean those behaviors wouldn’t be perceived as creepy. It makes the behaviors explainable but still they could be creepy. The way he was staring out the window was creepy, also it’s up to the person getting caught staring to make things not weird. You’re asking someone to put aside their feeling and boundaries because you’re on the spectrum and I don’t think that’s ok. The tutor is a bit of a dick when he tells him he’s not his friend. When he started talking bad about Jackson he was creeped out about him completely overstepping boundaries and having stalker pictures on his laptop. The way he said it was horrible, yes, but I do think he’s allowed to express that he’s creeped out by Jackson’s behavior.

    • @meat3958
      @meat3958 4 месяца назад +4

      @@honestreflections5541 I’m not saying that Jackson’s behaviours wouldn’t be perceived as creepy at all; To the average person, most of Jackson’s interactions we see throughout the film ARE off-putting and uncomfortable, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with feeling uncomfortable with the way a person is behaving, even if the person is unable to help that behaviour so we agree there. What I think you misunderstood was that through the lenses of an educator, these behaviours wouldn’t be considered creepy until Jackson begins legitimately stalking his teacher (of which in my original comments I explicitly mention that getting law enforcement involved at that point would be the best option for the safety of the teacher and his family and the education of Jackson both), educators are given, well, education on students with disabilities. Physical and educational both more often than not, so the way he handled Jackson’s behaviour was overall disappointing from the perspective of where most educators are with their interactions with disabled students.
      Having autism isn’t an excuse to be inappropriate towards other people, and is especially not an excuse to commit heinous crime like harassment and stalking, but the way the teacher and Jackson’s educational and personal relationship outside of the main conflict were treated poorly regardless at the end of the day, at least in my opinion
