    Your crank will be better at draining the missile's energy if you move in a zigzag pattern rather than just diving in the same direction. You also could have turned a few more degrees and still kept the f16c locked up within the gimbal limit of your radar, which would've made you maneuvers even more effective. You were also firing way outside the effective range of your missiles. 70km is really stretching it for an R27ER and just not going to happen with an R77, you'd be lucky to get a hit with the R77 at 30km. The R77 says it has more range than the R27ER but that's just a lie. It has less speed and more drag so even if it can theoretically glide the distance, its not going to hit anything performing even the slightest maneuvers.

      I was trying to sling the missiles from far as to see if they have a chance. I wasn't expecting them to hit and I knew that within 20km range they would be dangerous. Also yeah most max ranges on ARH missiles are simply them falling down onto the targets eventually

    • @ksenonscentral1187
      @ksenonscentral1187 3 месяца назад

      Hi, so you are both right and wrong, if you are able to sling the missile, while being at a high altitude technically because of the thinner air up there (im talking about real life now) that missile could have even more range then said, but the thing is i am not sure if they modeled that in WT. Also he was flying well, i didnt catch any massive mistakes that he made that could've got him killed (talking about bvr) . Going to a gimble can still get you killed, the best way to go defensive is just a notch a zig zag notch may work but also you need to be aware that turning reduces your speed, which in a bvr is one of the most important things. So lets say you have him on radar you assume he had you already and fired a missile, you fire a missile or two, continue guiding the missile straight on for a few seconds then hit the crank, (still guide the missile for a few seconds for the best chance to hit the bandit) after that hit a notch, let your missiles go pitbull, if by then you didn't get a notification on the RWR from their missiles going pitbull, continue in a notch while going lower and lower, once you get pinged or already defeat a missile, recommit and instantly back off and go defensive. By that time with all the notching and cranking you both will be in the MAR, ( minimum abort range) then you cant afford guiding your missile with a radar, just let it go pitbull while you are fast, in a notch going low and dropping chaff.
      No hate ln your comment, you said nothing wrong, and also props to the our pilot here, you be flying well chief. 😂

      @ksenonscentral1187 3 месяца назад

      @@SpartanulPHThat's a great tactic, you don't need to always push to get kill, all you sometimes need is them going defensive, not letting them recommit. Slowly you will be pushing them, and it will be an easy splash for you.

      @@ksenonscentral1187 He was using the R27ER at the start of his fights and those require a continuous radar lock, in which case you could still notch because of the R27s DL, but you'd then need to reacquire the target before the R27ER flies past. Cranking in a zigzag pattern is still the most effective solution at those ranges with a SARH missile if you plan to actually score a hit and dodge at the same time. Once you get within a reasonable range for the R77 then by all means you should fire, notch/chaff/evade, recommit and fire again, rather than just cranking.
      My statement on range is in regards to the indicator present on the radar screen. The lines indicate an effective range based on the player's speed, altitude and heading, as well as the enemy's relative motion. That being said, the indicated range is very much overstated and you should be firing far closer to the area indicated as the "no escape zone" than you would think.

    • @ksenonscentral1187
      @ksenonscentral1187 3 месяца назад

      @@moldypotato4656 hi i think you misunderstood me, by the no escape zone i meant the time when you both are so close to each other, that when any of you fire a missile going cold is not an option, all that can then help is a notch, meaning put the missile perpendicular to your aircraft. If i am not making a mistake ( im writing on a crappy ass android, my iPhone broke, gotta get used to this, so idk if i can exit this comment and continue writing it) you mixed notching with cranking, notching is when you as i said put your aircraft perpendicular to the threat, and a crank is when you are still trying to bleed a missile but u still maintain a lock. (basically similar to the notch, its just that usually due to physical limitations of the radars design, being in perpendicular and still having a lock is not possible). I've played a lot of dcs, and I never did the zig zag thing, nor did I encounter anyone that used it, but sure it might be useful. It just seems like it would drain a lot of energy.

    • @SpartanulPH
      @SpartanulPH  2 месяца назад

      I tried out the option to manually cue the target with radar, which proves to be uneffective and unnecessary against a single enemy. Also the other setting later was radar angle, where I either have the radar constantly at level with my nose, or I can choose to elevate it or depress it to search different areas of the sky

      You are not right, gotta be honest every jet will win if it fights the way it likes and the way it should fight. Going to a rate fight against an F-16 not a great idea for any jet, maybe gripen and the mig-29 if you know to set up an offset 2 circle and then reverse, an su-27 if flown correctly ( i mean forcing a one circle fight) will pretty much eat alive every single jet, other than the fifth gen. And maybe just maybe the gripen, that thing is mean, also the f-18 is great but still falls short to the flankers, maybe the Rafale but i don't think that will do it too. The f-16 is meant to rate fight or two circle fight, it's the old system of dogfighting but none the less, its okay in a one circle as well...

    • @ksenonscentral1187
      @ksenonscentral1187 3 месяца назад

      Also i forgot to say, you go to a two circle with a flanker that has off-bore r73s and its allowed to use it meaning its not a guns only fight, you are not surviving that for long either. I mean you always could win, there is a okay chance but again, fly correctly and you will win

    • @toyotawitha20mm35
      @toyotawitha20mm35 3 месяца назад

      @@ksenonscentral1187 in real life yes you are correct, but in warthunder the su 27 simply can't win dogfights. It can't do shit against the f16 or f15 in game even with r73s, countering 1 circles is too easy in the flanker, it loses too much speed.
