it gets darker and darker. The god of the pit looking like a mix of a giant demon and Destoroyah is amazingly put, and even less expected that it is a herbivorous dinosaur's head!
@@josebuendiamartinez9944 increíble hirmano" No soy muy freako de los dasinúridos pero aun así me gusta, sobretodo por el tema de la animación que estudié de eso

Magnificently beautiful and unsettlingly creepy all rolled into one. Did anyone else notice that the "High Priest" has his beak and eyes sown shut? And that Cthulhu creature, truly an amazing surprise. I'm _really_ eager to see the Behind the Scenes on this one.
That high priest seems to have sets of glowing dots marked with eye lines around his shoulders though. Very creepy element, part of the mangling process of Fell sorcery
Absolutely amazing work by you and everyone on this project! I have been in love with this series since you started and it always blows my mind. I'm a HUGE fan.
The fact you made me feel bad for members of a race as blatantly unsympathetic and cruel as the Blue Song really goes to show how twisted this fate of theirs in this episode is. Phenomenal job as always.
@@Smdvjgv Well, he was still a murderous maniac. And, even if his people are basically the last bastion against the Empire, they are still raiders and pillagers (the author himself said so), so it would be a little hypocritical of me to side with them.
Lovecraftian Dinosaurs! Let's go! Are the peoples of Sauria spiritually linked with their animals? Are the Kindred of the Tusk holding on? What are the gods of the world? So many questions! So many incredible moments. The lore video can't come quickly enough! Every time you show off your best work, you always outdo yourself! Your films deserve well more than just praise.
If I had a nickel for every time I saw an animation that's an homage to old pulp comics involving lovcraftian dinosaurs ... I'd have two nickels. But it's weird that it happened twice.
The blue song = people who sees dinosaurs as smart feathered animals The red tuskens = people who sees dinosaurs as reptiles monsters Elder saurians = retro depiction of dinosaurs as mammals The decayed = people who sees flying reptiles as dinosaurs Man dividing land of sauria as paleo community is amazing
To add to this since Pterodactylus was found before dinosaurs might be referenced in pterosaurs civilization being the fortunes to dinosaur civilization
There’s something horrifying that I realized about the eyes of the Blue Song members after they see this god. They’re the same as The Chancellor’s eyes. Has she perhaps seen this god before, and thus gained so much knowledge about Sauria? Due to not exactly knowing whether this god can control these beings or not through those eyes is what’s making me wonder.
Maybe the Chancellor and Taurox saw different god things since the one in the episode did say that there were others who didn't really care about the mortal world one way or another?
Might be why the knowledge of the Decayed is the Blue Song's "One and Only Secret". The part where the Captain asks to see their hands... The Chancellor wears gloves. I think to be controlled by the god or to survive it the mark must be on one's body. And the Captain's mark has a small adjustment to it..
@@morganarndt3219 I noticed that too, and you know what else is so special about it? There's one big eye and one smaller eye to the bottom right. The Great Elder One has one big eye and one small eye. There is one large Saurian moon and one little one. Ornithocera may now be as potent as the Chancellor. The moons are the thing's projections.
As always, phenomenal work. This reminded me a lot of Primal's "Coven of the Damned." The tone and atmosphere were handled perfectly, and I love how we're still seeing more non-dinosaur prehistoric life in these episodes. The last episode featured Pleistocene mammals, and this episode featured a Lisowicia.
And the thing is, if somebody would force me to choose which one is better, I couldn't choose between the two (and maybe I'd choose Sauria). And I am a huge Genndy Tartakovsky fan ever since the first episode of Dexter's Laboratory aired. I love Primal. But man, David James Armsby is exceptionally good! All of his series and stand alone shorts. Dinosauria is an exceptional paleo documentary, and Sauria is an exceptional swords and sorcery anachronistic paleo fantasy. Or at least I call it that. [Adult Swim] or NETFLIX or Amazon or even Disney+ should contact him! (iF they offer him free reign, I don't have trust in Disney at all in this regard.)
This NEEDS to be a series on Netflix or something...i would pay to watch more...these are very compelling stories you are telling and I'm in love with this world...please keep up the great work! Bravo!
The lovecraftian elder god feels like a mixture of Chthulu and Ogtar, the half-human, half-saurian god of the dinotopia series, and i'm here for it! Excellent stuff, really hope you continue this series beyond these 3 planned videos
Amazingly horrifying and beautiful as usual! I love when magic is an mysterious and ancient power, not a common thing, and this fits that so well. Upon a second watch, I realized what the chief is saying is not just that he's been possessed, but that the god easily broke his mind, but is using actual effort to make him keep his will. It was hard to tell the first time, but he is speaking as himself, not the god, simply for its amusement. I'm guessing the reason his hand has the second small eye, is because that is his old mind while the large is the god's. It also links up to the two circular landforms of the map at 7:58 which is interesting.
“Necrodon” is too badass of a name for something to not be used for many cool undead shit!! If I’m understanding the words correctly, it would literally mean “dead-teeth”, right?

Before watching the lore video i just want to mention: What shocked me most in the eldritch tale was not the force taking over the bodies or even the Fell (I think that is what they were called) being the fallen precursors of the Bluesong, no, it was hearing Bluesong talk in a way understandable for the viewers. In previous episodes the great civilization moving into the savage lands of Sauria was only shown from an outsider's perspective. But not so this time. This time we accompany them to witness the horrors of this swamp.
@@catpoke9557 he has talked about other films, but I don’t think we’ll see them for a few years. I also hate to see this project burn him out the way his dystopian film series kind of did. But yeah, I would love to see more of this.
It's pretty sad to know that this will probably be the last episode of this incredible series. honestly this is the best indie animation I've seen in a while (murder drones, hazbin hotel and TADC fans are going to murder me). I love the mix between the 2D and 3D animation style, the unique character designs and the plot, for me the only flaw of this series is that it's too short, but anyway, I hope someday you can continue this series!
There’s something really crazy about what one person can do when they understand their ability, limitations and scope. i’m really curious to see what his next project will be it felt like he had a lot of direction basically since he took a break from the autodale Series I wonder if he’s gonna do another multi film world story thing. Or Some more self-contained stuff. Either way I’m super excited.
I want to praise this so badly, yet I cannot find the words that can encapsulate the sheer boldness, depth of lore, and outright bursting of creative potential this world you have created David Armsby. It is works like this, the RippaVerse, Legends of Amora, and countless other creatives from all walks of life that show me we are in an unannounced artistic renaissance!
I think think this has been my favorite one yet. It re contextualizes the Blue Song from the big bad empire set to sweep over the world, to the new empire around the block that has no idea what is truly out there. Very well done
This... Is probably one of the best short films I've ever watched. I was enthralled. It felt like a Love, Death + Robots episode in terms of quality. Please don't stop making these - at your own pace.
This reminds me of the one off shows that u would see on TV with a badass plot line and everything but randomly see it disappear and forgotten with barely anything on the Internet I love this
I cannot wait for “The Making Of” tomorrow, your work is an absolute treasure and has inspired my own artistic projects, so thank you for everything you make
I can't remember the name of the adventure (I wanna say "Valley of the Dead"), but I play a solo campaign; I'm a high elf ranger with a war horse, a wolf, and an NPC human wizard bestie. The gist of the adventure is that a Black Dragon necromancer has taken residence in a valley, and is reanimating the fossilized dinosaurs to use as her army to take over the world. You (and your party if you have one) are going to stop her conquest. When I played it, I used "Animal Friendship" on an Allosaurus, named him Big Al, and then rode him at 4x my normal speed as my NPC party and I killed dinos! I had to modify the (legendary) boss fight a little, since I'm the only player, but after I won the fight, I found the dragon's lair-- and her egg, ready to hatch! So now I have a cute baby, ankle biting black dragon friend named Obsidia! I use the stats for a typical baby black dragon, and have added her normal dragon magic as sorcerer class features. She tries to be helpful, but really, she just wants people to give her shiny coins!
@SarahGraceBennett That's incredible! Mine was a Dante's Inferno style journey through the underworld, where each layer and sin corresponded to a specific layer of geologic time and extinct animals. I had my players, including someone who sold part of their soul to be half dinosaur, an elf turned into a Carboniferous scale tree, and a sapient raccoon, travel through each layer to escape, facing different Saurians and eldritch beings as they went further down. Eventually, they sank into the primordial soup, and faced an elder god, the embodiment of the Last Universal Common Ancestor (LUCA).
Dude, that is the coolest monster design I've ever seen. It's like the dinosaur version of cathulle. I love how it's a mix of different dinosaur body parts.
I like how connected it feels to the previous episodes. I love the new creatures added. The eldritch vibes are so haunting and intriguing that it makes me want to learn more.
I love how you described these as “cursed cultists” because it’s true! This was exceptionally awesome and thrilling to watch. I hope so see more behind the scenes soon.
Cthulutops is the perfect encapsulates of this series. On the surface level it's so dumb in the best way possible but exicution wise its god damn masterful
This has just the right mix of comic horror and amazing story telling. The land of SAURIA goes so much deeper and im so ready to learn more about it. Thank you
I have a theory for the end of the episode. I think the Blue Song Captain had dealt with The Fell before. And this time in order to escape, he had to sacrifice his comrades to the "Thing". Which really brings this entire world to whole another level.
He didn't escape though, he became possessed/zombified (or atleast I think that's what happened) and the rest of his crew died. His body may have survived, but it isn't him anymore
In all my years of dinosaur media…I have never seen such a thing in my life as what I saw here. Oh my God this… this is amazing. The build. The design. The mood! This was terrifying and mystifying all at once. Dead Sound…. I’m genuinely at a loss for words!
This was definitely one of the best RUclips animations I've ever seen, I'm so glad this type of fantasy hasn't died out. Reminds me of Nazmir + some other prehistoric zones in World of Warcraft and HP Lovecraft. I'm very grateful this exists, and I think this 100% deserves its own game or TV show.
Oh my god, DeadSound you have done it again. My goodness I can't wait to hear the making and lore of this one. Such fascinating worldbuidling, storytelling, acting, and sheer quality.
This is absolutely amazing, probably my absolute favourite addition in the Sauria Series! Amazing work, also loved the design you created for the Spinosaurus
It's absolutely beautiful to say the least. I really liked the colour patern on this one! The dark/light green and the dark sky of the night, as well as the swampy vibe come into contrast with the Blue Sung's blue/elegant colouring. I also loved the god of the Decayed with the Cthulu/lovecraftian vibe around it. In other words, another amazing film!
Holy crap! That was the freakiest episode I've ever seen in this series! I had never thought the day would come when you would add in Magic and a demonic looking Elder God into this series! Saying that that creature looked cool would be an understatement!
"Oh cool, a fun little random animated short film in my recommended videos, this will be a great thing to watch before I fall asleep" - me, younger, more naive
I have just been introduced to these videos. Having just watched all three of the videos currently telling the story of the world, I am not regretting watching them. The animation is excellent, the story of each chapter is self-contained, and I am definitely getting vibes from the various Native American traditions of respecting the land and its resources, especially in the second video. Definitely looking forward to the next installment.
I’m excited for your life breakdown videos on the Fell, the blue song, and even the green pachycephalosaur people even though we only saw a few seconds of them. I’m disappointed that this is the last episode of the series, it has soooo much left to offer❤❤❤❤
Holy... David you guys did well with the horror and I look forward for the sequel of this... that this blight would most certainly be... a running story line.
Whoa, out of all unique creatures I’ve seen through animation… this one really stands on a pillar of its own! That is such a terrifying thing to look at! 😅
Wow, wow, just WOW! The third and final film of this wonderful series was so awesome to watch! The concept of being dead, but technically still alive while also being controlled is a scary but oddly entertaining one. Not only that, but pairing it with dinosaurs and just an all around horror aura in general made it that much cooler. The worldbuilding, characters, concept and overall unfolding of SAURIA has been amazing to see. Wonderful job on all three films, truly fantastic!!

This could also apply for Taurox, the Kindred of the Tusk’s war chieftain, as he has milky white eyes too.
@@flounderingfish2480 his eyes are pure white, these eyes are slihtly greenish
I love the hints upon a second watch that the Captain was already taken over in the cell.
Yooo, I didn't see that before!
But his eye is blind?.
@immagical7036 not his eye. The manner in which he speaks, the fact he wasn't bound, and only held up his non-marked hand.

It also links up to the two circular landforms of the map at 7:58 which is interesting.

masterwork storytelling, I am so in love with this setting, and desperately want to run a D&D campaign in this world
Same!! I have a friend who is super into dinosaurs and would love this
Way ahead of you friend! I already did myself.
