Well, that blew me out of the water as to my estimate! I figured on a can and a half per coat with maybe a half can on the open section, so 3.5 cans all up. I'd have been running to the store for more just to finish the job! Tell you what though - they cover the surface well! The black has certainly made a big difference to the way the trailer looks for starters. I reckon the wheels need to be in silver if you're gonna spray them (as this will match the unpainted aluminium on the deck).....and if you really want to dress it up, a red eighth of an inch pinstripe in the centre of the outside facing rail on each side. Also, on the fenders, an eighth-inch red stripe about a half inch to an inch in from the edge of the centre section of the side of the fenders, that follows the contour round into the dip on the metal between the wheels - ending up looking like a sort of upside down triangle. That red 'triangle' would smarten it up and make the trailer pop all on its own even without the pinstripe on the side of the rails, I reckon. I really appreciate your considering us non-Americans when trying to find a prize that we can be in the draw for. I've yet to see another channel do this, actually. By the way, I'm in New Zealand....and NZ is separated from Australia by a minimum of a 3-hour plane trip over a body of water called the Tasman sea and requires a passport to visit, so we're not part of their political system either. We both have similar laid back cultures, spend our summers in the water and / or cooking outside on a barbecue with a bunch of mates while drinking cold beverages and love our classics - but we're certainly not the same country. Something to bear in mind (not that you've done this though!) is that calling a Kiwi (a New Zealander) an Aussie (or vice versa) would be akin to calling an American a Canadian (or vice versa) and we are staunchly competitive when it comes to sporting prowess....and we Kiwis are just as proud of our little country as any other nation, although we don't tend to yell about it. A bit of background on NZ - it's a relatively small country of just over 5 million people, with 1.7m of them living in the main city - Auckland - and the next biggest city being the capital - Wellington - at 542k people. I live in the southern end of Auckland in a district of 75k people, but in a little village of around 1200 on a peninsula into the Manukau harbour. Us Kiwis love having space around us, eh! In the not too distant future, my family is going to up sticks and move to a smaller city to get away from the rush and bustle of city living and hopefully with a bit more space around us. This might sound funny to people used to larger cities than the entire population of our country, but everything is relative, eh. Anyway, I'll stop yabbering and let you get back on with it. All the best, mate. Enjoyed this video totally.
Thank you for the awesome comment! You guys have a awesome Hot Rod scene!! I got a tshirt from GMS HotRods in Aukland NZ he's on of my favorite builders, keep watching I'm gonna try and get you guys some neat stuff soon!!! Thanks for watching!!!
I film baseball games with a GoPro. My experience is the two things that cause a GoPro to overheat the quickest are the internal battery and frame rate. I run with a charging cord running to a big battery. I can get easily a whole tournament with half a battery. And not having the battery in the camera keeps the heat down. RUclips will only handle 720p. If I record higher than 720 and 60fps, I have issues. My camera is a Hero 7. It used to run in 100 degree heat like that for 5 hours, no problem. Now I drape a cooling cloth over the top and that is enough. Doesn’t even have to be wet, but wet helps. Painting the stupid thing white would probably work just as well. Why are they black?!? I mention all this because I am cheap! I make do with what I’ve got. I thought maybe you might be the same way.
You have got to be kidding me 😮... I thought those were just bigger cans. I didnt realize they had a spray pattern like a paint gun. Thats crazy... Ive gotta get some
WOW The trailer came out super! PLEASE be careful in that heat Brother. You looked exhausted. I don't want you to have a heat stroke. That direct sun is a killer. Maybe buy a HF canopy (COVERPRO 10 Ft. x 20 Ft. Portable Car Canopy). Thank you for the video!
Thanks it was pretty hot!! The bad part is the shop behind me has ice cold ac lol, but it's full , I may try one of those tents, thanks for watching!!!
Have you used the Poppy’s Patina wipe on clear coat? I just done the blue on my truck while ago. It looked ok when I left it but it wasn’t dry yet. I rattle canned the almond color and turbo cleared it last week. It turned out awesome. I wanted to keep the patina look on the blue so I used the wipe on stuff.
Hey Robert you won the super clean prize from the trailer painting video, please email me your address and name and address to acdgmerch@gmail.com we'll get it shipped out to you, thanks for your support!!!!! Adrian at AC Designs Garage 🙏
Man y'all really ought to put trailer brakes on that. It's really not safe hauling cars without them. I know you said you had a bigger truck that you pull it with but think about when you got a vehicle back there on the on the trailer and you're running 70 mph What if something happens in front of you and traffic locks up You're not going to be able to stop. Well not in the time necessary. I know how to haul without trailer brakes just like you do but they really are a safety feature that ought to be thought about when hauling heavy loads. Please put them on there bro
