Back in the mid 80's, I was stationed in West Germany courtesy of the U.S. Army. Painted several cars with Rust-Oleum cans. Most cars took 12 cans. No turbo cans back then. Tip... always start with the roof. Long, smooth strokes and push the paint forward. Next trunk, then hood. Long, smooth strokes. The hits the sides starting again at top edge and work towards the bottom. Your paint job looks great! No hater here. For not a bunch of $$$ you can get a pretty decent paint job. I tip my hat off to you young man. I painted my first car when I was 18 years old in 1968 in the outdoors using a Craftsman oil-less compressor. I used lacquer which dried fast and then I rubbed out the paint. The paint job looked decent on my 1960 Plymouth. Fast forward to current times. I’m into old trucks, Studebakers specifically. You can’t paint outside anymore and the body shops want several thousand dollars for a paint job, a very bad investment for a Studebaker truck, you won’t get your money back when it comes time to sell. I’m behind you bro! My dada. Had a 65. Chevy wagon
The 65s are my favorites
I guess it's a lot easier than dragging an air hose around. I have painted cars for over 40 years in this kind of amazes me
Thanks I have not done the hose way yet but I might one day
It looks pretty good! Thanks for sharing this video
Thank you appreciate it
Damn one can did the whole car it's better than most paintjobs because it's in an enclosed place less contamination on paint
7 cans but it did turn out good
Paint job looks real good.
Nice car too.
Thanks 👍
Those Fisher Body Impalas had great lines. Nice job! One of the previous owners of my '70 El Camino used Rustoleum white on the repaint. Heavy pigment color and one of the purest whites I have seen. I got a great shine after a mild cut and buff.👍👍
Thanks cars are sweet
I used to paint my cars of those years by hand. I'd clean them, primer them, spray paint them, maybe 2 coats, then I would spray them with a clear coat sealer, maybe 2 coats, then I would wax them. Same with the tire rims.
Yeah I might wet sand and wax it
@@ChevroletC10andNova if you're going to wet sand you need several layers of paint, just clear it
My son-in-law and I painted my 1988 Toyota pick up approximately 10 or 12 years ago it’s all in preparation . Rust oleum is a very advanced paint company the variety of their products are astounding High quality products. My old truck now still looks decent never in garage . Still daily driving in this old 2.4
Yeah i hear so much about how paint will fall i did a 62 c10 and it looked the same years later but i had it in the garage
Clear coat it then wet sand polish it’s look really good
I was thinking of doing that in a few weeks
Looks great, I had a car just like that in my 20’s. It was my first car with air conditioning and auto transmission. I loved the way it drove. Have fun with it.
They ride good i like these cars
Mine a 283cu auto I bought for $700, it was great. I only had small cars before that, I am 76 years old now, those were the days, man.
Great job!!!!!! That car looks great!!!!!
Thanks
Ain’t nothing wrong with spray painting your rides! 💯 I spray painted my 94 Caprice, my Chrysler 300 and my GZ250 motorcycle and the paint is still good on all 3! I also clear coated tf out of em 😁😎
Yeah true but you know how some haters are I will take their views though lol
@@ChevroletC10andNova haters gonna hate bro 💯😅 Let em!
Nice car! you should be proud of that.
Thank you I am
Just sprayed my 65 with turbo flat black after watching this video. Car looks good. 👍🏼
Right on thanks
Excellent video! You have inspired me to paint my car. Thank you!
Do it they turn out good I’m no pro but looks a million times better
I told everyone before Christmas I was doing my truck with rust oleum they laughed so hard at me I’m getting ready to then bam this calico it came out cherry. Firme job
Thanks go ahead and do it. It will turn out good but a lot of people will hate still but who cares
I need a friend like you. Just get it done. 👍🏾
Hell yeah I don’t mind it at all this way
It takes real balls to do this, old ones make it an anxiety carnival! Gg
I ain’t tripping what people say a lot of people mad but they forget its my car not theirs 😂😂😂😂
It looks awesome! Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Well-done That 65 is a head turner😍😍 .. I am gonna try it on my 85 Squarebody top ..Thanks for sharing
Do it and yes since painting it now it turns more heads

Really a nice family car plenty room for the kids and the groceries in the trunk.
Thanks i agree
Excellent job thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
Looks great. Awesome car. My dad had a white 66 Chevy.
They’re good cars. Thanks
THAT CAME OUT CLEAN BIG DOG ...💥💥🔥🔥👍👍🙏🙏🇲🇽🇲🇽
Thanks bro
Looks good only problem with it is cans are meant to be kept upright when spraying but after watching this I’m buying 6 cans and doing the same to my yuk 👍👍👌
Thanks well these bad boys are good spray cans 😂😂😂
I wish I had those skills with a can.
It turned out good 2nd time i do it
Glad you went with the white cans and not the black . The black turbo cans will look good for a little while but get faded and cloudy . The white cans look cleaner longer . GREAT JOB !
Thanks i will do my k10 white too
Hi from SoCal. People dont get how expensive paint jobs are in CALIFORNIA you're looking a good 20 to 30k in CA for paint alone.
Most people just hate because they’re behind a keyboard. Shout out to so cal from Nor Cal 😎
@ChevroletC10andNova lol 😆 they hate all of the native California's 🤣 Lol too bad I'm a native they just need to build a bridge and get over it.
Your happy with it is all that matters. Safe driving bro.
Thanks and I’m juiced
Good job Homeboy I bet your finger was tired
Thanks. It’s not as bad with these turbo cans, with the small cans fingers definitely will get tired.
Dude looks 💯 percent better. Not everyone can afford a $2500 paint job. It’s all one color and will probably last you for a long time. Great job 👏
Most people here say 2k for a paint job in california you are looking at 8k for a paint job
GOOD JOB, DUDE!!! 👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Nice job!! Now you got me thinking about really doing my 04. F 350 pick up, the cab.... Just peeling paint from this southern heat! No dings & dents to fix!
Looks like I can pull it off , how about when it comes to colors? Metallic Midnight Blue is what I got, the bed is actually great, I could get away with just the cab if I could get close enough to that color.Bought her new and I just want to keep her.
Thanks!
Thanks you can do this they turn out good
HELL YEA!BE PROUD MAN
Oh yeah thanks
Hey, not bad for a "rattle can job" !! Preserves a classic car and happy cruising!!
Thanks. Yeah its a cruiser for sure
Hi I am Earl she 2995
Had a 78 Olds that I used about 13 cans of rustoleum primer, did it outside and didn't tape anything. Turned out pretty darn good
Yeah they do have good paint
