Listened to this all day yesterday. My great grandfathers on both sides of my family fought in WWII, and a good friend of mine was at Normandy. He was one of the lucky ones, who was able to return home. He passed a few years ago, and he wanted only 10 people at his funeral. Because (and I say this having literally gotten a degree in medieval European history with a focus on warfare) there's much more to history than military history. But I am so very glad that we have modern-day skalds to sing of heroic deeds.
@@andrewiannelli7635 Nobody says you have to respect Nazis, communists or capitalists, it's not about the ideologies but brave people who fought for them. Every army has heroes and cowards, it's always been like that.
I agree but at some point I feel as you have to stand for something, and of course there are brave people on every side one war, but can you really call them hero’s when they commit things like genocide
Awsome! Btw could you guys make a song about Ben L. Salomon? I just recently read about him and he was a military surgeon on the Pacific front in WW2 who while defending a hospital single handedly killed 95 attacking Japanese troops before he himself was killed and through his actions ensured the lives of many wounded men who escaped the under asault hospital. If they’re ‘soldiers’ referring to your comment, then Sir isn’t the proper term. Army Doctrine says sir is referred to officers, not NCO’s (Sergeant - CSM). Officers (Lieutenant, Captain, Colonel, General).

This is amazing! I just found out about this song, and I can't stop listening. My birthday is June 6, and before I was born, my Great-grandfather passed. He served in WW2 and ever since I honor the day more than people could understand. Sabaton, I maybe late to the party, but I'm rocking to it nonetheless! PRIMO VICTORIA!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday. I thank your great grandfather for his service in WWII.

My Great Grandfather was there as well, and received a Purple Heart. You've put my thoughts into words.
I used to have a friend back in primary school whose birthday was also June 6.

I just discovered sabaton, someone explain to me why I needed to take a history class when this music of the gods was there the whole time?
Because most history teacher's aren't this badass
Welcome to the club
I know right? I am also new to Sabaton and I LOVE them!
Because (and I say this having literally gotten a degree in medieval European history with a focus on warfare) there's much more to history than military history.
But I am so very glad that we have modern-day skalds to sing of heroic deeds.
Well, watch Bismarck live now, you wont be dissapointed

75 Years! Respect for all soldiers that fought during D-Day!
Respect for all soldiers in general
Yes 75 years pretty crazy however I have no respect for nazis, especially considering they were defending OCCUPIED territory
Yeah the Germans desperately tried to unite all German people everywhere but the oppression got worse(Poland)
It's 80 years ago today. Good reason to listen to this song again.. and again... 😊😊
Keep up the good work and rock on!
He died on Saipan btw.
When the winged hussars don't arrive
That would be an epic song
Not just a surgeon, the guy was a DENTIST. Only more proof that those guys are the craziest medical fuckers around.
"Like a Scalpel" indeed.
After so many years this Legendary song has a proper Sabaton video. Love it guys. Romania awaits for your return.

Pvt: Primo Victoria.
Sgt. PRIVATE, That is a rhetorical question! Of course you can play Primo Victoria in combat! Why WOULDN'T you?!
If they’re ‘soldiers’ referring to your comment, then Sir isn’t the proper term. Army Doctrine says sir is referred to officers, not NCO’s (Sergeant - CSM). Officers (Lieutenant, Captain, Colonel, General).
@@christophermiller5433 I was just improving the original comment, I don't know how the U.S. Military communicates.
