Cześć! Jacob. A, tu w latach 39'-45' i w Europie ludność cywilna cierpiała. Lightbringer, we have always been brothers. There's an old Polish saing: "A Pole and a Hungarian are two brothers: either by a sabre or to drink with others." Cheers, Bro!
DaimonF Thanks for the reply! We also have this verse in Hungarian, so it must be part of the common heritage. Also, its not only words that join us, for example, the grandfather of my high school classmate is Polish, he fled here in WWII and had a family here.
Lightbringer82 Nice to hear that. I have a similiar story; When I was a university student I had a friend ( a very nice and funny guy), and his mother claimed to be half Hungarian. Her maiden name in translation into Polish meant "Biały Potok", which in English could mean "White Creek", I suppose. I don't remember the original pronunciation, though my friend told me. Are such surnames popular in Hungary? Cheers!
DaimonF According to the English translation maybe it was "Fehérpatak". It is quite rare and I suppose it was her last name. Most Hungarians have last names like Nagy (big), Kiss (small - that's my last name, too), Kovács (blacksmith), Horváth (croatian), Németh (german).
Lightbringer82 That's nice you have replied. Thanks a lot. The maiden name of my friend's mother might had been the one you've quoted. Thanks again. And coming back to the topic of last names; the Polish equivalent of Hungarian Blacksmith is "Kowalski" /"Kowal" and German = "Niemiec" . We have lots in common. Cheers, Hungarian Brothers and Sisters!

Dude, just because you are a German doesn’t mean you should feel guilty for what The Nazis did. There is a quote that says “The guilty are guilty. Their children are not.”
@@pigtasticpigtures7825 thanks for your kind words. I personally don’t feel any guilt but a lot of people in Germany still do to some extent. They don’t realise WWII and all it’s cruelties ended 75 years ago. This should be enough time to forgive what has happened and carry on into a brighter future, together.
You can't say that we are "brothers", that term is very sacred and it's used mostly in terms of service in battle. But if your concern is that Poles can't accept you for the individual that you are, don't worry, we forgive history. But it's important to talk about history because we learn from the past. This song is not a battle cry, it's more of a resolution of history and a song of valor. Just remember you don't take blame or burden for your families atrocities (if that's even the case). Live your life to the fullest, there is no grudge in your case.

I’m American. But I have family that immigrated to the United States from Poland (Before WW2 fortunately). I’m a huge WW2 buff and the constant amount of reading and watching about Poland in WW2 makes me proud to have Polish heritage. They truly fought to the end and never officially capitulated. Just read about what the allies thought of them, they ran blood hot with revenge for Poland. It sadly was either die under occupation, or die fighting, they chose the ladder. I’m gonna read more about Poland outside of WW2.
I was born in 1958 The last scorer was killed in 1963. So when I was 8 years old. The resistance continued all the time. Until 1989 We are a freedom-loving nation. It's in our blood.
@@krzysztofhaaburda7210 As an American I respect that. And truly y’all can understand a saying here “Freedom isn’t free”. To me, it always felt like the occupation didn’t end in 44-45, it ended when the Iron Curtain collapsed. My dad watched the Berlin Wall fall and has talked about how much he remembers it. But tell me, what was it like living in Poland during the Soviet Union?
@@sylwia9034 Sorry my friend, we in my family have lost any sort of translation of the Polish language. I hope this translation is correct “How can I be a fan of war?”. +Marcin Dobrowolski how do polish people feel about us Americans and America in general?
One of the most powerful, uplifting songs I've ever heard in my entire life. How can it affect me like this?
Is it just me or does the live version sound more awesome than the studio version?
***** Yeah.
As pure music is does, but the crowd screaming always ruined live versions for me...
+Zephyrus Mapping I dunno
The crowd's voices give me shivers
In the good way
Imagine
Polish rising in revolution under that song....
+Tom Bentham For me live version is always or usually better than studio version.
The "official" live videos still go through studio editing and mastering, so it's not purely live.
Poland, the immortal of Europe, has long earned my respect. They survived partitioning, Nazi and Soviet occupation, economic deppression, military invasions, genocide, Communism, and much more. Thank you Sabaton for introducing me to such history. And respect from the USA. 🇺🇸

I am german and I wish for a time when I can proudly say that the Polish are our brothers. The mistakes from the past shall not happen again
@@alphaeisen Aber zuerst Reparationen.

Yyyy🤔...jak można być fanem wojny?????
@@sylwia9034 Sorry my friend, we in my family have lost any sort of translation of the Polish language. I hope this translation is correct “How can I be a fan of war?”.
