I think swedish pagans never comes to the setlist, but it's become a running joke. I remember They were playing in Stavanger and in during one of the mc breaks, me and some guys started chanting the tune and you could see Joakim get distracted. Soon everyone was chanting the song and Joakim asked us all: "guys, have you ever heard of a setlist?". We got hold of one of the setlist later and lo and behold, Swedish Pagans was not to be found. I almost remember what he said, he explained the concept of a setlist "guys that means that if we don't put it on the setlist we don't play it, we got new material we want to show" something like that. Then the chant was picked up again. Joakim went "fuck you guys" and then he joined in the chant and they played it. Best night ever.
It was a joke running at Wacken too. Last time they played they were recording a show for a DVD and Joakim was arguing about how they have to play to a setlist and can't just go off it. Chris just kept trying to slip in Swedish Pagans between song, he and Joakim got into an argument (obviously staged), with Chris being sent off stage to sit on the naughty step whilst Joakim tries to prove he can play guitar. Then eventually they played it.
But I didn't know it went further back than that lol

I remember when i went to go and see them in Glasgow last year, the Swedish Pagans chant started, Joakim walked off-stage (as a joke of course) because he didn't want to play Swedish Pagans and wanted to play new stuff from The Last Stand, and Chris I believe decided they were going to sing Swedish Pagans in Swedish to 'spite' him.
Joakim walked back on around half-way through the set laughing, went RIGHT back into singing the song, it was a great time.
They did it at the Atlanta show as well it happened after three different songs before they played it

@@wyatttyson7737 It's a stage joke. It's just good fun for perhaps people that may be new to Sabaton shows. I found the jokes with the old guitarist Thorbjörn quite funny when I first got in to this band.

When i was on Sabaton Open Air everybody was chanting it before they even started and during every major break except maybe one everybody started chanting it again
@@wyatttyson7737 Joakim doesn't think it's that good of a song and it's basically their "Ace of Spades". I personally agree with him on the musical stand point but seeing them live it's fun to see him get a little pissed. 😉
