- There's never been a better time to be a PC gamer, especially if you’re always on the go. Gaming notebooks are lighter, more powerful and cheaper than ever before. They're particularly useful for students because their beefy hardware could be helpful for rendering video and doing any other schoolwork that would make super-thin ultraportables sweat. You can find some general advice on choosing gaming laptops in our guide. But if you want to narrow down the field to a few great options, you’ve come to the right place.

God’s work
Drop this dude a like.
I love you man
Bro the razer blade series is damn expensive I don't think any student can get that 💀
cheers man
These are good laptops but asking a student to pay these kinda prices is very unrealistic!
Not just for students. For gaming as well. That's why it's more pricey
There are a surprising amount of students with macbook pros in some universiites.
@@thanosthemadtitan5518 Most of them are gifts from their parents lol
Get a job hippie
@@Samiuddin98 if they can gift a MacBook pro they can gift this though
Literally the perfect title and vid, I was looking for a vid about good student laptops that can run games well
I own a zephyrus g15 that i bought for 1.2k before college as i was planning on majoring in computer engineering and it has an rtx 3060 and a ryzen 9 6900hs and it has been helping me so much. I can run Read Dead 2 on it and when im in a esports title typa mode i can play valorant and overwatch. It also is good to use for school. Nowhere near as good as my pc back at home (ryzen 9 5900x and rtx 3080 ti) but it gets the job done and seeing as i just finished my first year of college its been great
Does it not get really hot?
Proud owner of the X14, it is a statement, I do get asked often about the laptop when I am in a cafe...and the build quality is on another level and that display is gorgeous....USB-C charging is a big win for me...the fact that this is thinner than my previous Lenovo yoga 7 and yet performs like yesteryears desktops, says a lot about the engineering that went into this device...all in all, superbly satisfied...and I can't get enough of the way it looks....
how much battery life would you say it lasts without a charger? if i would just want to be doing homework in a library/cafe?
@@UndoubtedGold if you toggle the screen refresh rate to 60hz and run on igpu only mode with battery saver...3-4 hrs at the very least if you're power using it, 6-7hrs if you're doing nothing but very lightly hearted tasks....so 5-6hrs on the average...
Is heat a problem
@@scubalink bare been a couple of months, not a problem yet...
@@insenjojo1839 thanks for the updates how had it been operating now?
Is the razer blade 14 2021 version with a ryzen 9 5900HX and 3080 or the 2022 blade 14 ryzen 9 6900HX 3070ti better? And how do they compete against other gaming laptops
It's fantastic to see a focus on laptops that cater to both gaming and school needs! Balancing work and play is so important, especially in today's fast-paced world. Gaming laptops have really come a long way in offering high performance for games while still being efficient and portable for academic tasks. It's great that technology is evolving to meet diverse needs, allowing students and gamers to enjoy the best of both worlds with a single device. What an exciting time for tech enthusiasts and students alike! 🌟💻🎮📚
Power Brick size is never covered in reviews, and is such an important factor no one talks about. Why no one tests how those laptops perform on a compact USB-C charger? Will it hold their charge?
it's been covered, at least for the Asus G14. With it being charged via USB-C, it can run up to performance mode and is around 75-80% of the power it has with the regular charger. It will lose battery power in that mode over time but not in silent mode
How could this list be complete without mentioning the Lenovo Legion slim line ? Also, somehow they didn't mention the fact that in the current market AMD has the battery life crown regardless of price. I think it's worth mentioning for students duh
Edit :Sorry to say this, but this video like many others does not seem to be well researched. Please look at other reviewers
Sir,can you make a review about ASUS Vivobook 15/Pro 15,I found it affordable and reliable general purpose laptop, just making sure I'm not gonna make another big mistake
I find it bizarre when you're talking about a laptop that is used on the go you don't talk about the size of the power brick of the x14, or it's usb c charging. Even quickly you could let us know features that I find very compelling about this product.
i use the x14 and for basic work, even a 35w smartphone adapter is adequate (provided you are not doing anything intensive and are use battery saver and iGPU only)....and this makes it a perfect on the go companion....
EXACTLY! Power Bricks size is never covered in reviews, and is such an important factor no one talks about. Why no one tests how those laptops perform on a compact USB-C charger? Will it hold their charge?
I have the Razer Blade 15, i7, 32GB, and RTX 3070 and I do love this machine, kind of expensive, I agree, but I love it, I wish it could come with 16:10 and a bigger trackpad. I feel it's like the MacBook for gamers. And yes, it gets soooo hot while gaming.
I also have a blade 15 (mid 2021) i7, 16GB and RTX 3070.
though I don't play high demanding games, when I do it gets to 60-70 degrees Celsius
I don't know if this is specific to my device but I've had a screen issue where the video player on opera would glitch out, hasn't happened all week though.
Compared to my previous laptop the audio is sooo loud like when I'm not using headphones 15-20 is more than enough lmao (have tried to play with the Realtek audio console to give razer audio a bit more bass to it)
Battery life isn't all that great though (3-4hrs) I've just used it at home so far (only been a couple of months)
I'm thinking about getting a secondary laptop that isn't as expensive (Samsung galaxy book) but a similar look and good battery life. (would be to take to university and stuff)
I'm very religious about cleaning the blade 15 and still use the fabric cloth thing to cover the keyboard while typing lol
@@c3cil358 man, i have same specs (advanced edition 15 with 3070 and 11800H) new thermals and unobstructed airflow on tabletop, i get 95-100c cpu in rdr, rust and basically any game. I can't find any solution to this
If things are really bad a last resort is to get a small bag of water placed in 3 more empty bags to stop leakage and place just in front of the screen, in-between the fans where the vapor chamber is.
I'm in UK and it's been getting hot so heat dissipation is difficult
Also I should ask, I've been hearing that our blade 15 can be charged using thunderbolt cable but I've never actually seen it done
@@c3cil358 or you can just get a laptop ventilation stand...
Hi is there a laptop that is under 300 that l can use for gaming and everything(including school)
gaming laptops are cheaper now??? what????!
Should I get the blade 14 ryzen 9 6000HX 3070 ti or the g15 ryzen 9 6000HS 3070 ti? If price does not matter?
the blade, 15 inch laptops like just fit in a bag. If you’re gonna take it around with you the blade will do you so much better in the long run.
my big issue with gaming laptops is they are at best QHD, so their resolution is shitty because in order to make games faster they have to use shitty FHD or QHD. I want my laptop for work as well and I want UHD for that.
basically what I want is Thinkpad X1 extreme, optimized for work, capable of gaming that isn't overpriced due to the military spec.
How much and how can I get it,am from Nigeria
Hello I’m looking for a gaming laptop lest than 3k if possible for gaming but also for architecture any that you will recommend
ALIENWARE
I mean, unless you got a class that requires you to use photoshop for it, then yeah its good for school
Hard-core gpu for homework😆😄
Arent these pcs just super loud in a classroom
With a name like Device Hardware you're bound to be a tech reviewer 🤣👍
you could almost get a car with these orices
The best gaming laptop is one within your budget and needs, if your worried about your laptop not being future proof than you should consider a desktop
@[Insert name here] I personally got the Zephyrus g15, I valued portability with good specs, and it can handle any Tripple a game, for desktop anything above rtx3070 is good, go for prebuilds there's many around with good specs
@@ADHD55 RTX 3060 is enough for 1080p to 1440p.
@@portman8909 yes it's good enough for 1080p
@@ADHD55 I just wanna ask if the g15 is good with Dota 2 at high settings.
@@ADHD55 hi! Would this be a good laptop for a 14 year old? My son wants a good gaming and music producing laptop and I am completely lost 😂
Who buys razer for school?
Im considering it just so worriesd about the fan spound
Ya know, "student" means broke...
This is unrealistic...
a lot of these laptops are pricey
i just got an asus zenbook flip 15 q528eh and it's easily a really great laptop that's a fair price ($1200) compared to these laptops shown
What are you smoking
U saying 1200 is fair price ? Man I ain’t gonna buy laptop over 500 for a while 🥲😂
@@skyrisesenpaiii678 good luck finding any laptop with a decent dedicated GPU under a 1000. Laptops are not efficient price or performance-wise. if the mobility of the laptop isn't absolutely essential (like in my case im a game design student and work full time overnights so having a 3000 dollar laptop is sadly a necessity) then just don't get a laptop.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2022) Gaming Laptop, 16” 165Hz IPS Type WUXGA 16:10 Display, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, AMD Ryzen 7 6800H, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD, Windows 11, GX650RM-ES74
The problem with gaming laptops is the power consumption in class, you better plug that brick into an outlet also the noise.
Buy any gaming laptop in 2022 with an amd cpu and you'll be surprised
Exactly, I can not use gaming laptops for that reasons.
As the other person said here, yep, I have an AMD 5600H machine and its basically silent under light work. Absolutely zero noise. If your class has AC, it will stay silent even under heavier work. And I can definitely get a 9-5 day of light work( MS word, Online classes) done on battery. Occasionally I'll charge it during breaks. Its crazy how intel laptops have less battery life even with the 'efficiency' cores on 12th gen.
I have been using Lenovo Legion 5 with AMD 5600H and Nvidia RTX 3060 and it was really noisy… Battery with office work not great, but not bad. But I sold it because of noise.
@@tharun7290 which laptop do u have?
I think students should go for cheaper options then these. Unless they’re rich ofc.
depends on your studies. assuming your studies are programming and graphic design then you need a good GPU, CPU, RAM, and at least 1TB of SSD (500 GB goes fast) which all adds up fast.
some students don't get to have a choice if they are virtual learning
Thank you
Bruh. I really want to get the asus zephyrus g14 but best buy canada sells them so expesnsive like $8000 for a asus zephyrus with rtx 3060
dont get a 3060 then
@@78Vertigo yea i decided to get the g14 amd version because its cheaper
@@ZapieAnimations did you get it? I also consider buying one (Ryzen 9-6900HS/16GB/1TB SSD/RX 6700S). What do you think?
@@hei4227 Well after I wrote this comment some time later I realized there was the 6900hs version. So I've been waiting to get that model for 5 months now
@@ZapieAnimations what GPU ? rtx 3060? RX 6700S OR RX 6800S?
You need a bank loan for these kind of specs. Please do another video with gaming laptops between £500-£1000 which is where most parents would be looking.
which game is shown at 0:05?
Final Fantasy Vll Remake Intergrade
The only answer is legion5
The legion 5 is great!
AMD is the only option for work and play, intel just sucks in the efficiency department
unless youre in a stem program, you dont need a gaming laptop for school
You probably don't need a gaming laptop for stem programs either unless you're in architecture. This is more of a want vs need thing.
You only need food and water anyway.
What's about lenovo legion 7i gen 7 2022?
It is still vaporware. They advertised a May release, still not released and the company will not answer any questions about a possible release date. I needed a new laptop and held out for 2 months hoping for a 7i gen 7 release. I’ve only had Lenovo for the last 10 years. I went with ASUS Zephyrus duo 16 (2022) instead.
I currently have old dell ultrabook & I want to upgrade to powerful portable gaming laptop which are best in everything & I see only lenovo legion 7i gen 7 is the one which tick everything its powerful & also have good screen, good battery timing & also portable so I am waiting more coz I will buy only lenovo legion 7i gen 7.
I would keep an eye on the specs they have already dropped the screen specs from the original release specs, hopefully they release by October, I just couldn’t wait that long
What specs of screen they dropped it?
They went from 3 screen options to 1, also the max screen brightness was 1000 nits now it’s 500 nits
g14 and blade 15 but no g15/m16. joke list
Ok bro so u have money to give us?
g15 has better price quality than blade 15
Video is a scam as soon as I saw Dell G15 blue screen simiulator and dead pixels similutor forcing you to also go out of your way to update by going to their website naw yall are buggin. YALL DIDN'T RECOMMEND THE LENOVO LEGION WTF??!!?!? 🤣
People are that soy that they complained about 10 lbs? Good thing more people are going to the gym.
Best for students?? My son was looking for a gaming laptop for school, and no way could he afford your options, try and be realistic next time
Heads up never buy a dell they are terrible no clue why you would recommend, assuming for all these all you did was look at the specs. The build quality is terrible so bad infact that the pc will thermal throttle itself on everyday use, coupled along with the absolutely terrible battery life and flimsy screen just put into doubt your whole review video.
If you're not recommending the Zephyrus G15, I don't trust you.
I don't trust you @Gerald.
