    In my opinion, the G14 is the clear winner. Even if price wasn't a concern, I wouldn't get the Blade 14 simply because of the 16gb RAM that's not upgradeable. The X14 even though it's thin, it's heavier and much larger than both of the other 2 laptops, looks more like a 15" laptop chassis size compared to the other two.
    G14 advantages:
    -Price
    -Battery
    -Upgradeable RAM, SSD, WIFI card (look under the SSD, it's there!)
    -Screen aspect ratio 16:10
    -Screen brightness
    -Sound quality
    -Keyboard typing experience
    -Trackpad size and accuracy
    -AMD smart shift and smart access memory is able to allocate power and ram between CPU and GPU to boost performance as needed

      As for portability, it all depends on whether your desk space is more horizontally or vertically challenged. In practice, I find that the X14 setup is more compact because all the ports are in the back and I don't really work in spaces where a couple inches in that direction matter too much. Also, G14 + power brick is much heavier than X14 + power brick (which also functions as a generic USB-C PD charger). I don't find the footprint issue to be too big a deal, and X14 fits in most of my computer bags just fine. It's worth mentioning, too, that upgrading from 16 GB to 32 GB on the X14 is like a $50 option at the time of purchase, so it's rather affordable, considering DDR5 SODIMMs are really expensive.

      @abaj006 Год назад +4

      @@mbvgliderI think a portable laptop should have decent battery life, and the G14 really nails that balance between portability, performance and battery life. You do a day trip with it, without worrying about having to charge it.

    • @mbvglider
      @mbvglider Год назад +2

      @@abaj006 Only if you’re using it casually. I never found that G14 had the ability to run demanding tasks for long. It’s not a MacBook. You can either get good performance or good battery life but not at the same time. If you’re buying it to mostly game on it, you have to plan to carry a charger all the time. It all depends on how you’re planning to use your computer.

  • @PhantomOnline

    I'm currently sporting a 2021 G14 myself and it's amazing. For me personally, i value battery life a lot, and on a small 14 inch laptop like this, it's kind of important. The whole point of getting a 14 inch is for its portability, meaning you can use it while you're out on the go, and that means you can't always have access to a power outlet, not to mention probably having to carry the power bricks for the Blade 14 and X14. I'd say if money wasn't an issue, then the Blade 14 is something to consider, but honestly, if you're spending that kind of money, there are probably better offerings out there, maybe not at 14 inches, but still. However, I don't really see the X14 as competition, considering its below average battery life, and bigger size. I don't see a lot of people prioritizing better build quality over the other very significant negatives.

      You're right that the X14 needs to travel with the power brick. The thing, though, is that it's very compact, much smaller and lighter than the Asus brick, and it also works as a generic USB-C PD charger, so if you have to bring a USB-C charger anyway, you can replace all of that with the Dell charger. So while the G14 travels better for an afternoon, I've found that in an overnight trip, the X14 travels better.

And I use it as a laptop (half the time, actually on my lap in the morning and the evening), it is so hot you cannot use it in that way. I’m just saying the laptop was awesome, but after 4 days it just seemed like I wasted my money, because it started to have problems with only having it 4 days, and I only played heavily demanding games like the forest once. Something to consider, I might either get a new one or go for a bigger model.

  • @user-pq4by2rq9y
    @user-pq4by2rq9y Год назад +8

    2 suggestions:
    With 14" devices you should consider portability as well since it is their gimmick, like weight, formfactor, and actual need to carry a power brick (anything beyond 8h of battery life should be considered sufficient for a work day). By that criteria, the g14 wins by a wide margin.
    Another factor, a little hard to judge but important for some is availability and quality of tech support. Razer should struggle due to low volume of sales while I would expect Asus to offer decent support, now I heard great things about dell in that department, even if their quality control seems to be lacking.

      I found that to maximize battery life, you have to keep Optimus on and use silent mode, which will minimize power use. If you're gaming, it's gonna burn through battery no matter what. Anyway, not sure it's worth ever using the MUX switch; yes, you get better slightly gaming performance with Optimus off, but it destroys battery life and you have to restart your computer every time you engage it. Hopefully, next year's G14 will have Advanced Optimus.

    Also which ia better between 6700s and rtx 3060.

    • @DeepteshLovesTECH
      @DeepteshLovesTECH Год назад

      Depends on the wattage of the 3060. 6700S would be technically faster in gaming vs a 3060 at like 75W or be similar at 95-100W. A higher wattage 3060 would be very slightly faster in games.
      However if you are doing productivity tasks like video editing/3d rendering in Blender/using software like V-ray, then the 3060 will blow away the 6700S.
      My main reason to avoid the G14 2022 would be the unavailability of an Nvidia GPU. AMD CPU + NVIDIA GPU is the best of both worlds.
