Thanks. This looks almost exactly like my door. You made it MUCH easier to fix. I'm always amazed at the guys who are not only able to fix their cars but have enough brain left over to make a video about it!!

I’ve gotta window problem, not this one at the moment! This was a really good video. I’m sure it will be an issue sooner or later. This was really smart. Thanks for taking the time to explain it.👍🙂

The regulators bending when the slidey-blocks get worn out is a really common thing on these. I actually bought "reinforced" window regulators from a dude who breaks apart nothing but volvos. He welded a 1-2mm thick bar onto the regulator arms so they'd be stiffer.
Also, replacing the blue window-regulator slidey-blocks is a MUCH bigger pain in the ass than it should be on the s80's. Mainly because the open side of the rail that the blocks slide in, faces towards the outside of the car. So you basically have to do everything blind and by feel, because once you get your arms inside the door to either slip the new block into the rail, or try to line up the regulator-arm's peg with the new block, your arms are inevitabely going to be blocking any and all of your visibility. Even if you get the rear slidey-block (that lives near the B-pillar) replaced somewhat painlessly, you for sure wont get the front one done painlessly :D again, you have to reach both of your hands into the door, one of em through a wireing hatch barely big enough to fit a forearm, find the rail and block, navigate the old block out, slip the new one in without dropping it into the door, then somehow line up the regulator's peg and the block by feel, and then try to pull, or squeeze the peg through the block, with 0 leverage ofc.
The same job on v70's (and i think s60's too) isnt even half as bad. Mainly because the v70/s60 have the open side of the slidey-block-rail towards the cabin, so you get perfect visibility to slide everything old out and everything new back. The window regulator's peg is also flipped (pointing towards the outside of the door), so its literally just a case of lining up the peg to the hole and pressing.

Just finished putting in those same sliding blocks today. They are a pain. Make it worse, the guide on the S80 is backwards compare to the S60 where the open portion of the track is towards you.

Awesome thats great news!!! And yeah they are a pain to do being that you have to feel around but it can be done. Glad you fixed yours as well!

What years does this work for? Looks like that only shows as a part up to 2006? I have a 2008 s80 and ordered these, but think the design is different than this.

Yeah I believe 2000-2006, 2008 is a different body style best to pull your door panel and see first.

My driver side window just goes back down when it reaches the top, having only pushed the button up once, to close it.

Sometimes this happens and it needs recalibrated. Try holding the up button while it goes up and keep holding a few seconds that may work.
