      No problem mate. I can now confirm that hellcat will drop tomorrow and 4c will be in the editing booth by the time you read this. I am inclined to think you will see one of the M videos following shortly along with a special F-type film from earlier in the year. If things go to plan you may see two videos a week.

    The only way to drive the Ultimate Driving Machine, a proper manual box and rear wheel drive. This M235i may just become the perfect candidate when I go in to trade my E46 M3. Well done by BMW on this car, 3 series, 4 series and the M3/M4 twins so far along with the 6 series. Awesome review Brian and I'm glad I found your channel. I was an avid reader of your articles along with other sympatico.ca auto articles, until it changed to theloop.ca. Thumbs up on this wonderful review !

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      Thanks, mate! Yeah, the old gang at Sympatico is broken up and fragmented now. Those were good days. Thanks for subscribing! There's some great stuff coming up soon on this channel. As for the M235i, that's a brilliant car, the best that BMW's done in some time. If I had a real job instead of writing about and making films of cars, that would probably be in my garage today.

      No problem. Im in a tight budget too and just trading in my E46 M3 wouldn't do much, I mean I bought it for $15,000, and been happy with it for over 3 years now. Glad BMW is doing some good things as of recent, seeing how Audi is doing a lot of 'ultimate driving exeperience' with their new cars too, and giving buyers the option of a manual tranny (except the S3, which sucks). Love the roads btw, as I live near Mississauga and really the only roads for driving are in Milton ans Oakville. Any suggestions for good driving roads in Ontario Brian?

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      647killa You're right, roads in Ontario are terrible. I have such a good time in California and various places in Europe. There are some decent roads in Niagara, so if you're heading that way, shoot me a note. There are also some fun roads towards Muskoka that I'll be happy to point those out by email as well. We don't need those spoiled by the street racing crowd, so we'll keep them to ourselves.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      647killa Also, I meant to say that your E46 M3 is such an awesome car that you probably want to keep it as long as possible. A mate of mine down under had over 200k on his. Kept it in epic condition. He fooled me because I thought it had around 50k on it.

      Ya, I've got a Laguna seca blue coupe with a 6 speed manual and its got 250,000 kms (video of pickup on my channel). Its a rare color and just so good even at its age, hence why I've been reluctant to sell it and it'll make 4 years of ownership end of this year. It is seriously so good that I haven't found any e90 series that felt as good to drive. In fact, I havent found many cars that can compare to a car that does everything so well, if not the best. The S54 in-line 6 is a materpiece of an engine and I've tracked at Cayuga multiple times and its been dead reliable. Funny you should mention Muskoka, my wife and I have booked a cottage there in 2 weeks, so definitely shoot me an email with good roads in the area. And ya the kids are unstoppable, you should see the car meets up in Mississauga, but hey as long as they're not driving reckless and doing/selling drugs and other vices, I'm okay with their fart can Hondas. Cheers Brian and if you're by the area reviewing, let me know ans you can test my car and my brother's twin turbo supra for your channel of you want. The kids will love a fast right hand drive supra :p

      Brian's written review is out on the M3. Video wise both the M3 and M4 are both in the editing queue. With that said, if I had to hazard a guess, it will come out after hellcat and 4c. While it was filmed a while back, its release will likely fall on the tail end of December.

    Nice review. I just have three quick questions because I am planning to buy one of these. Did this one had the M sports suspension or the adaptive one? Are these the electric seats? And how big are you that they won't give you the perfect driving position?

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +3

      Keep in mind this is a Canadian-spec car which differs from other markets. Quickly looking at the specs, it seems to be the M suspension because there isn't and adaptive suspension option available in Canada. Yes, they're electric seats. The problem with them is that they're a couple of inches too high off the floor for my liking. It's a minor complaint because BMW has been known for excellent cockpits for decades.

    • @cdbtheclaw
      @cdbtheclaw 10 лет назад +2

      Brian Makse Thanks for the quick response. I was told that the electrical seats are a few inches higher than the manual and I wasn't sure if the M sports suspension would be comfortable enough and I haven't found any review or even test car which had the M suspension installed. But it seems that I just found two extras that I could throw out of my car and save a few bucks, so thanks a lot.

    • @BrianMakse

      Isn't that interesting...I haven't seen a car with manual seats. I'd definitely go for those. Less weight, too.

      TheClawGaming I honestly never found the car to be to hard, then again I am use to coil overs.

      James Busato I am also not really worried about that I might find it too hard but my girlfriend will maybe kill me when I spend that much money in a car she can't sit :D

    Hard to hear on interior shots, and a bit repetitive. Thanks for more footage of the car though. Makes me second guess my ZF8 decision a bit.

    did you guys see the stick shifter move at 6.04 ? Why is that? I've seen that on some cars it dose this and on some it doesn't.
    Nice video.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      Thanks for watching. The drivetrain will always have some compliance and my guess is that I was rolling on or off the power for the shifter to move like that.

      Alexandru Dumitrascu NVH mate. If you hard mount the tranny it makes for horrible NVH. Even slightly stiffer bushings can be disastrous.

    How does it compare to the mustang gt?

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  8 лет назад

      +James Inkrott Great question. Two totally different machines, obviously, but they're in the same price bracket for sure. Refinement is off the charts for the Bimmer in that comparo, however, the new Camaro is superior to the Mustang in every way. That's the real comparison today, I think. That said, unless the M2 turns out to be utterly brilliant, the M235 rear drive is the best car BMW makes today. Really great piece.

      +Brian Makse nice review of the v6 camaro. interested to see your thoughts on the ss. I really like the M235i, but the warranties and general maintenance for the American cars would likely be more reasonable for the long term

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  8 лет назад

      +James Inkrott Thanks, James! It all depends on your perspective, of course. We're really looking forward to the SS and we're in the midst of planning an epic shoot. 4K, lots of awesome shots in a great location, and as little of me on camera as possible!

    you know you can adjust the steering wheel position if it is too close to your thighs, might not be the seating position thats bad

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      The seat is just unnaturally high off the floor. Feels like a SUV's seating position more than a sports coupe.

    I admire BMW's but for the money, I'm seriously thinking about the 2015 Mustang for $30k...with a lot of features like Recaro seats! Ford is going to make a killing for the 50th anniversary with a re-design finally deserving of the badge. Not to mention 95% of male buyers who rather save $20k than buying a BMW or Audi

    • @nickbusato7138
      @nickbusato7138 9 лет назад

      I think the GT with track pack we drove in our review was nearly the same price as this M235i. Without question the mustang is the more exciting to drive but I am not sure what I would rather live with.
