A lot of anger went into the record, anger they took out on eachother (well mostly Lars and James arrogance clashing lol). Watch the documentary "Some Kind Of Monster" and you'll see.
Also, just because Metallica would've broken up without the record doesn't mean people aren't allowed to criticize it.

People that say everything after the Black Album sucks is an idiot. They are one of the best bands out there because they were able to grow and survive the 80's without having to play the same 80's metal sound like Megadeth and all those other out-dated bands do. Load and Reload were two of the best rock records of the entire 90's decade. Even at their worst they are better than any band out today.

I hate it when the audio has the drummer playing the hi-hat and the video shows him playing the ride cymbal, or vice versa. That's lazy editing. Love this re-mix of the song, though. I wish the entire album had been re-done like this.

I hate that people hate on this album, this truly is a great song, its everything that encompasses metallica, the anger, the passion, the hard hitting riffs, there is absolutely nothing to hate about this song. Personally listening to this song strikes me harder than most of their songs. It may be a different style, but what makes a great musician is consistently being able to play "different" styles, which Metallica definitely achieved throughout the course of their history

It kills me to see people complaining in the comment section about Metallica sucking after the black album!! I do prefer most of the songs off of those albums, but their newer stuff isn't that fucking bad! I mean really, their newer stuff still blows most of the bands away 'til this day!!

Nevada Campbell You haven't been listening to music and especially metal if you think their most recent stuff is "better" than many bands, actually, for a band of that stature they both sound kind of mediocre and have a mediocre production, especially Death Magnetic but Hardwired, can even though it sounds better, it's still not great, guitars and lars drumming sound awful.

since they're remastering KEA and RTL, they could remaster ...AJFA to have actual BASS in it for once. And take out the snare in St. Anger, maybe add solos but maybe not?
Adding bass to justice. Yes. Change the snare on these. Yes. But how the fuck do you figure they can add solos. They'd have to rewrite the fucking songs.
I fucking agree, i remember jamming out to this CD in my basement, was only like 13 at the time, looking back it definitely was IMO a fucking great CD.

i might be in the minority but i think St. Anger was a really good album. yea i noticed the lack of solos and missed them dearly but i cant fault a band that continues to evolve. i mean if you want to listen to master of puppets then...listen to master of puppets. the funny thing i think is that if it was any other band or even a new band that wrote these songs they would have been greatly excepted

Честно, в этом альбоме есть много всего хорошего, например, те же риффы. Мне лично очень нравится рифф в начале purify, хотя остальную часть песни слушать просто невозможно. Для меня репетативность песен и их длинна - главный недостаток альбома

I remember getting this album the week it came out and loving it immediately. I also remember being so surprised with all the criticism directed at it...
The main reason St. Anger failed in many critics and fans eyes is that you have to listen to it under certain circumstances. It’s meant to be listened to when your pissed off, depressed and angry at everyone and Everything or battling addiction. When you do listen to it when suffering you fully understand and come to respect it in all of it’s ugliness.
