  • How to Install Windows 11 Without A Microsoft Account
So Microsoft in their great wisdom thought it would be a great idea to force people to use a Microsoft Account during install process. This is very frustrating to a lot of people who just want to use a Local Account and NOT a Microsoft Account. Show how do we bypass Microsoft Account during installing Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro. Disconnect from the internet and start the install process, once you are at the login section of the setup press Shift + F10 to open the command prompt and Type: OOBE\BYPASSNRO
The PC will restart and then you can continue to setup Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro with a Local Account.

I have installed Windows 11 on numerous systems over the last few months and I have discovered a way to bypass the sign-in. When it asks me to connect to the internet I simply plug in my ethernet cable with an internet connection and the next button will appear as soon as I click next I unplug the internet connection and I am able to create a local account without signing in. No need to reboot the system or use command prompt with this method. Although your method is still brilliant. Thanks for sharing.

Find the interface that's connected (there will probably only be one at this point) and then type "netsh interface set interface [interface name here] disable" (no quotes/brackets).

@02:53 in case it's not clear from the video for some people, what he should have said is you need to unplug your Wi-Fi router after using the command prompt trick, so that the computer cannot reconnect to the internet after restart. He doesn't just mean that you have to skip the "Connect to a network" step. What he means is you need to actually disable your Wi-Fi network (unplug the power) that you previously connected to. otherwise this wont work

Thanks for your time in making another nice video.
I wonder when MS is even going to put a stop to this bypass procedure and REALLY force you to create a MS account.
(As someone else mentioned, you can also Shift+F10, taskmgr, and End the Network Connection Flow process)
I still use Windows simply because it works with everything, and is the easiest to use for the non-techie people I deal with. However, they always make it so difficult with every damn change they make. I swear it's like they are TRYING to get people to stop using their OS.
How long will it be before they force you to not even be able to move the taskbar controls to the left, or force you not to use the Control Panel anymore by taking it away, etc etc etc.
I'd love to know who the heck makes these decisions and thinks..."wow, the public will really like these changes!"

It's not about what the public wants. It's about power and control. Their plan, based on their published corporate strategy, is to force everything into the cloud. If they get their way, eventually, you will not be able to do anything without Microsoft's approval, even something as benign as accessing your own data on your own PC (look up the dangers of TPM and UEFI).

This medtoda is not working. If you have Windows 11 Home, you still need a network connection and a Microsoft account. Only in Windows 11 Pro it is possible to skip the connection to the network.
The following method works for 100%
    1. First, start the Windows 11 Home installation process normally.
    2. When you see the message "Let's connect you to the network", press Shift + F10 on your keyboard. If you have a Lenovo, HP or other model, use the "Fn" + Shift + F10 keys (by default, on some laptops, the options Prt Sc, Second Screen, Brighter, Darker or other are assigned to F1, F2 ... F10, so you must use "Fn"
    3. Then a command prompt window will open, you need to type "taskmgr" and press Enter.
    4. Then in the Task Manager, you need to click More Details.
    5. Look for the option "Network connection flow"
    6. Right-click it and select "End Task".
You can install without a network: Then you can go back to the installer and add a local account :)

this is a good method for those that just have no network at all 👍. the way I did was just wait for it prompt you for a connection to choose, plug my cable in, hit next and immediately unplugged the cable and it went straight to create local account screen without rebooting after failing to check for updates again. to do this with wifi, you'd have to be close to the router and just turn the router off after hitting next.

    But what I think?
I think this should be illegal from the moment it can’t be completed without “hacks” without internet, and this apply to Windows 11 and new Xbox Consoles (despite I love them as machines) before it “only” was obtuse and very pushy to use Microsoft accounts but removing the I have no internet and don’t allow you to use in the OOBE local accounts should be just criminal.
And I love Windows, but there must be limits, even if it doesn’t directly affect me as I used Windows 11 Enterprise in one PC.
By the way I’m happy to confirm that the command oobe\bypassnro also works if you apply it from the network selection were you will be stuck if you actually have no internet

At this point, Linux (including even the more tricky distros) is going to be easier to use than Windows. One already has to use the command prompt to install the system without internet connection and tinker in the registry to even change the size of the taskbar (which you can do with a few clicks in most Linux desktop environments). Not to mention bloatware, which in fact makes up the majority of the system.

I think it's better to log in to Microsoft account and then sign off after installation.

Thank you Brain yet again for the educational video, I have just one question that I have experienced if we do not assign a microsoft account that windows will not be activated with a digital licence, however, I then reinstall the win11 with a microsoft account and my windows has activated with a licence that link to my microsoft account. I then change to a local account and delete the ms account but the activated licence is still enforced.

do you really think it's a good idea to install win11 so early with all the issues that people are experiencing with the os and all the things you can't do like you could have in win10 i was watching another youtuber explaining why you shouldn't install and it made a lot of sense to me there are just too much restrictions in this new os build even if there is a work around i think Microsoft is being like Apple their way or the highway or Linux you tell me. thanks anyhow for the great video.

All I did was turn off the internet (airplane mode on) hit back command on the MS sign-in screen and it gave me the window to create a local account. No need for CMD prompt/OOBE command line or restart!

They are repeating their Windows 8 mistake! They haven't learned anything from it.

Hopefully they don't pull this workaround out. I'm leaning towards migrating all of my users to Linux, as I don't have time nor patience to deal with setting up MS accounts for every 10 computers I roll out.

I have yet to upgrade to Windows 11 for this very reason. Can someone confirm that as of this date (April 6th 2022), this method still works. I don't want to upgrade and then be stuck. Thanks again!
