I feel this pain all the time. People see the front end of my Cayman in their rear view, and if they do pull over they never lift off enough to let me past. If he was faster, why were you still on him into almost every corner?! Many comments in here from people who simply don't understand how sh*t works 😅
@@MRS-2ZZThe guy kept pulling over to the right then not letting you past, then closing the door into corners. Its damn right dangerous. When I got past he never caught up again.
Had exactly the same thing round oulton. I was in my S4 following an RS4 for a couple of laps. He was a lot faster on the straights for obvious reasons, I was a lot faster in the corners. I let him get 100yrda lead on me before hislops, then carried probably an extra 20-30mph on him through knickerbrook and was past him before druids. It was super frustrating but actually quite fun in the end and taught me a technique I’ve used a few times since.
Great driving, and I love the car. Used to have those seats in a previous track car didn’t realise they would fit in my MR2, so I will get some now I know. Thanks for that. Out of interest though, there was a queue traffic, the Yaris driver was not great and driving like a dick, nothing good to be gained from this, why not just back off and then have some fun on a clean track?
Its times like that mate id love to be in something worth nothing more than scrap to just put into the side of him... great driving as usual. Be daddys car the yaris gr 😂
You are as bad as him. Why not let of the gas, hang back, and let him carry on in his quest for glory. His etiquette is poor, but so is ur ego in trying to make ur point. Hang back in future, job done, u continue to enjoy ur trackday.
but it's no fun just "hanging back" while someone else dictates what you can do, it spoils the day for everyone. The rules are simple; if someone faster catches up you up, let them past.
No one sticks to the rules though, that’s been proved time and again. It’s not as if u are out for two laps is it. Hanging back 1 minutes will get him well Out of your way, and u never know, u might pass them by as they are lodged in a barrier.
I agree with both of you. I had my mate in his 2AR-FXE swap MR2 right up my trumpet in the video, but we were playing safe. It's just frustration when you can actually have a battle with another competent driver, but then get held up by others not playing it safe nor competent.
The main issue is, it’s ok to have a battle with other users, but you have no idea how incompetent that user is, or when they run out of talent and take u with them. Safest policy has always been, hang back, or buy a faster car which breezes past most things on track, then u have no issues with anyone holding u up or putting ur pride and joy at risk.
@@notfooled3452sorry but this is just one fool not following the most basic trackday rule. There's quite a few blokes who appear to see it as an attack on their pride or something to let someone past. I'll let anybody past whether it's a Fiesta or a Ferrari. You can usually gauge when another car is a bit of "competition", this wasn't that, you can tell by the pull over and not lift routine. If I'm lapping the same as another driver I'll swap places, doesn't bother me, but the Yaris is a poor driver in terms of lap and trackday etiquette
He was only faster on the straights as I was unable to get a decent exit, as he was slow in the corners. Over a full 2 minute lap, he was probably 5s slower.
Yet I was probably 5s a lap quicker. The rules are simple on UK TDs. 'If a car is still behind you after 2-3 corners, even if you are quicker on the straights, move over to the right, lift off the throttle and let them past'. WTF should I have to wait behind him lap after lap when he could just lift off for 1-2s and we're both on our way again.
For how many laps ? Current record is 9 laps stuck behind a V12 aston martin vantage - in a 306 diesel estate, 2 up - he was so slow into the corners he boiled our brake fluid - we will immediately yield when something catches us, even if its because the car in front refuses to yield to us.
A Yaris GR driver being a bellend? Absolutely unheard of.
A Yaris GR driver being a knob? Would have never guessed
He cannot accept getting past by a 20+ older car :)

simply overtake them next time EZ
No chance I'll stay out in that kind of traffic. All the risk and no benefit whatsoever.
My drift in the black MR2 on the last corner coming past you though 🤪I should get style point for that! 3:19
Yeah, that had to stay in.

you shouldn't pass on corners anyway@@threepotMR2

Tosser, hope you gave him a fine choice of words after
you shouldn't let your anger get the better of you in a car. thats when you do stupid things. go in, report it.
The worst kind of track day driver is that kind of track day driver
If I didn't yield and brake at 2:57, entering Druids, it would have been a big accident.

I was hot lapping with my mate behind me in his 2AR-FXE MR2 so just wanted past so we could carry on the battle with clean air.

doubt it. financed out of hs nut.
GR Yaris posted some much quicker lap times on some tracks. This one probably has less grippy tyres and a less capable driver.
It was running fat A052s.

I dont think he was ego driving, he was slower in the corners than you but faster on straight, so it turned into a constant stalemate
