- I finally got the Sony FX3. My dream camera I have been meaning to buy for years. It has only been a week but so here is what I think of it so far.

I agree in run in gun low light it's nice to set it to auto iso. I use auto iris to control the exposure with high base iso. More cinematic cameras are not as friendly to solo shooting. Its a lot easier than using Black Magic with manual lens and no stabilization.
Ah ye I used to shoot on Black Magic they are a pain. Amazing footage though.

i love the fx3. I wanted to buy it but i decided to go with the A7IV because i mostly do Weddings for Clients and needed a good Hybrid Camera, but still crave the FX3. Its just to expensive to buy 2 sony cameras :D
I have been using the A74 for about 2 years solid and it did everything I needed it to. Buying an FX3 is luxury for me not a necessity. I just got a bit sick of the 1.5 crop on 60fps but apart from that the A74 is a perfect camera.
GJ man. Tell me why not just wait for the new FX3 II that will be released soon? I have the A7SIII that i like better then the FX3 because more buttons, EVF and layout is just like my A1 and A7IV. So its good to set them all up the same way. There is really no difference in the A7SIII and the FX3, just a few cinema features and fan but the A7SIII never overheats anyway. I'm waiting for the FX3 II or A7SIV to pair with my A7SIII

I went over why I went for the fx3 over the A7S3. But I agree they are the same sensor. But as for waiting for the fx3 II I have had this dilemma before whether to wait for the next camera or get the one that is out now and I would prefer just to upgrade now as that is what I could also afford. The next gen would be a lot more.

@@PanosAgamemnos It will defintley be more. The FX3 will be a good camera for a while. But just saying the FX3 is a cinema camera and still missing many features like False color which we use to expose SLOG. It is rumored that the new A7SIV or FX3 II will be 6k, maybe global shutter, 180 shutter angle, higher megapixels then the 12mp and many many more features. The FX3 like my A7SIII is just true 4k. No downsampling. Something will be announced in the next few months and what will be packed in it will be well worth the wait and will well above both the FX3 and A7SIII.
What lens did you use during the day? Night?
I am shooting on the Ziess 16-35 although I am not crazy about that lense and will hopefully upgrade to the Song 16-35 GMII very soon.
