As someone who's been obsessed with the Switch since it released in 2017 it was really fun to watch someone unbox one who's totally new to it. It really brings back the magic.
@@danebrooks421 Glad I'm not getting OLED. I don't like the too bright OLED screen, some games like Xenoblade looks less sharper, and there's a lot of OLED's with green tint screen issues. Also I hate ANY chance of burn in. I don't care if someone only got burn in after leaving it on 1600 hours, some got it even staying on a single screen for 5 hours. I'm getting a jailbroken V2 Switch later this month
Some switch things I can recommend for the switch oled. 1. Games. Some I can recommend are animal crossing, Pokémon sword/shield, Mario kart, super smash bros, and Splatoon 2. 2. A dock cover for the dock because the dock will scratch the switch when taking it out sometimes and putting it in. Most dock covers will say for the switch not oled but the 2 I have both work with my oled dock. 3. Pro controller for Tv mode because the joy cons will drift over time and I’ve have a pro controller for over a year and the pro controller hasn’t drifted over a year. 4. A screen protector for the switch just for extra protection. I would recommend one that is glass as Nintendo’s official screen protector is really bad. 5. A case to carry it around. There are a lot of cool cases for the switch and a few for the switch oled, Nintendo has a black and white case for it and it looks super cool and there is a teal and light green Animal Crossing case that works pretty well with my oled. 6. Last item, Nintendo switch online so you play with your friends and other people. I hope this helps the switch oled experience :)

I bought one, and also have the V2. At first i was skeptical because according the reviews, it's not worth upgrading. But boy i can tell you straight, this one of the best decision i ever made.

Fast RMX was definately great, i am Setsuna was great and i had King Of Fighters. Those were the games i picked up at Launch.
If you're getting the switch for animal crossing, you might wanna check out the Animal Crossing Direct (basically a livestream presentation) that's airing an hour after you uploaded this video!! If you're looking for games, the 2 games that are generally accepted by the community as must-play games are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. Although I'd also recommend Splatoon 3 when that comes out next year (the Splatoon games are really fun and share the same dev team as the Animal Crossing franchise) P.S. The "egg" is actually a Yoshi egg lol

Just be aware that eventually the joycons might have some drift. I’m not exactly sure if the joycons are the same as the earlier one, but that design usually resulted in joycon drift over time when the contact pad wears out.
They fixed drift with the launch of the V2 Switch long time ago. Ever since I got the version 2 Switch I haven't had drift since. I swear people don't know what they are talking about.
A couple games I would recommend you are: Zelda Breath of the wild (my #1 game) Mario kart 8 deluxe Animal crossing new horizons If you like racing games: Burnout paradise And one that might surprise you but is actually really fun is: Rocket league (free)

If you enjoy the 2d style of Mario games I would definitely recommend Super Mario Maker 2. It's about $60 and its story mode is okay, but its real value comes from user submitted levels. Because there's always new levels being made there is A TON of replay-ability and you can even make your own levels for other people to play if that's your jam. The only real negative about this game is the multiplayer (unless you have a high tolerance for latency and lag). Even if you have a fast connection you can get grouped with someone who doesn't and the gameplay will still be affected.
One thing I just found out is that you'll need a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play the user submitted levels (this is my first switch as well, I didn't know). The cheapest individual membership is $20 a year, which may or may not be worth it depending on budgeting restraints vs how much you like these types of games. Of course, if you already have that then this won't be a concern.
I really enjoy your content and reviews because they're genuine so im happy that you got the switch.. i have the V2 version of the console but im sure the OLED model with blue/red joycons is the best combo!! ❤️ you're gonna love it

For TV and tabletop mode, get yourself a Nintendo Pro controller. It is one of the best controllers on the market and the battery life is insane. You can go days or weeks on a single charge depending on how heavy your use is.

For your first purchases I would recommend both Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: the first one is so cute, creative and relaxing and also has longevity, BOTW is a beautiful open world adventure that will get you glued to your screen for months and months.💜
I would suggest you look into Stardew valley on the switch. It runs for $15 USD but sometimes goes on sale for a little cheaper. Its a gem of a game and very highly rated. Comes with all free DLC and you can play solo or multiplayer. I highly recommend!

I have been really regretting why I chose those colors since the second you go online and search about the oled version all it shows is the white and even on the official website. But after watching your video I don’t regret it anymore seeing someone else having it ♥️

animal crossing is a must! its such an amazing experience, I've been playing for 6 years. I would also recommend spiritfarer and stardew valley if you haven't already tried those and are into indie games!

You should've bought the white since Nintendo is being difficult and don't want to sell white joy-cons separately. You can always buy the red and blue joycons after.

Welcome to the switch family! I recommend fire emblem three houses its not super casual but its not extremely difficult either unless you want it to be. Animal crossing is a good choice for sure, can never go wrong with that, and i would say breath of the wild is def the game to get. Honorable mention for bravely default 2 if you want to try out an old school turn based RPG! Pokemon is good too. I have soooo many memories with my old v1 switch from 2017, i upgraded to an oled not too long ago. Have fun!
There were a lot of rumors about a switch pro but it didn't happen and everyone was disappointed. All they did was put a new screen lol.Its nice but im getting a steam deck instead.I reserved one.

Joy-con drift is easy to fix (I can tell you 2 ways to do it if you want), and Minecraft is a good game for the Switch too.
You probably wouldn’t need a dock protected if you already have a screen protector, unless you want the back of the switch to be protected too.

I would recommend getting a screen protector for your switch. Sometimes when you're sliding the console into the dock it can get scratches.
Not in the Oled Dock, it has more space between console and dock, it is an upgrade….. but an screen protector is always a good thing

Games I recommend are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild, hyrule warriors age of calamity, and skyward sword. I also recommend super Mario odyssey, luigis mansion 3, and if you can find it, super mario 3D all stars

You should've bought the white since Nintendo is being difficult and don't want to sell white joy-cons separately. You can always buy the red and blue joycons after.

I recommend for new comers to get mario kart, mario odyssey (adventur platorning), animal crossing (life sim, fun decorations and cute animals) , smash bros(if you like fighting games)
Welcome to the switch family! I recommend fire emblem three houses its not super casual but its not extremely difficult either unless you want it to be. Animal crossing is a good choice for sure, can never go wrong with that, and i would say breath of the wild is def the game to get. Honorable mention for bravely default 2 if you want to try out an old school turn based RPG! Pokemon is good too. I have soooo many memories with my old v1 switch from 2017, i upgraded to an oled not too long ago. Have fun!
