I was lucky enough to spend a week in Chartres in 2006 while there for a graduate course emphasizing the Cathedral, its history and architcture. There was also an emphasis on the Chartres labyrinth (which sadly got no mention in the video.) The Chartres Cathedral is an amazing, mystical place and well worth the easy side trip from Paris if one happens to be visiting the City of Lights and looking for something beyond.

It is an easy trip from Paris, and well worth a visit. It is truly a giant.

Thank you for this beautiful documentary: although my favourite of the 'French Giants' remains the biggest of them all.....Amiens!

Great documentary. It would have been better if the current restoration efforts had been covered in more detail, it's jarring to see the main area of the church fully cleaned and restored, while the side aisles remain blackened with soot. Is that going to change? It's an obvious question the viewer would have from watching this footage. Also, when the tower collapse at Bourges Cathedral had been mentioned, it would have been good to see contemporary depictions of that building before and after the event, or any depictions of the collapse itself. Considering the impact that collapse had on the design of Chartres Cathedral, I think it's a pretty important visual. I had to stop the video and go look it up on Wikipedia, because I was curious about it.

I love these gothic cathedrals but these videos on them Never tell how they really built them, the process in building them, they mention the pulley and ropes and that is it, they it seems have no clue on how they were constructed.

Great content, as always! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
