I live up the road from Salisbury and I know full well how beautiful the Cathedral is. The city as well.
But have to say, the filming in this video really was breathtaking.
Locally Salisbury is known as the City in the Countryside because you can't see it from the surrounding hills, and from inside you can turn a corner and be in fields.
Except for the tower/Spire, you can see that from everywhere. It rises up from what appears to be a forest, it's really magical.

43:06 they mention the fact that Westminster Abbey is unique with its collection of almost all royal/princely tombs in one spot. It is indeed extraordinary, usually they seem to be rather scattered across the country, reflecting given history. The only other country with long royal history having similar layout seems to be Poland, which at the Wawel Castle and Cathedral in Krakow houses the tombs of almost all country rulers and heroes over the last millennium, one next to another. And both places, Westminster and Wawel churches share the very high artistic value. Great documentary, as a non-Brit I thoroughly enjoy learning all this!

A possible explanation to the carved butterfly/moth at 11:44 - it often symbolizes transformation or transition (due to its lifecycle) and also death. So a carving of one in a chantry chapel where people prayed for the dead doesn't seem too out of place.
Or a builder just decided to spruce up the place with a pretty butterfly.

What a fantastic video! I really enjoy learning about English (and the British Isles) architectural heritage. As many of my ancestors lived in England this is my architectural heritage too. Architecture is a window into the beliefs and aesthetics of a particular period of time. It boggles my mind that such incredibly beautiful cathedrals were built without electricity, modern tools and materials and safety concerns that we have today. The builders and artisans who worked on these churches had to improvise new techniques and tools to do their jobs and used trial and error to make sure that these new tools and methods of construction and adornment actually worked and weren’t overly dangerous. (Just think about all of the spires and roofs caving in during or after the building(s) were were completed!). To top it off, most of the builders and artisans did so without bringing to others’ attention their part in the construction and adornment of these massive cathedrals. They did it to glorify God. That most likely wouldn’t happen now.
Three cheers for Alice! Her enthusiasm and knowledge about ancient edifices shines through in every one of her videos about old homes and buildings.

Really enjoyed the video. I really appreciated the story of the workmen paid to do repairs on the cathedral by anonymous wealthy people. (whether due to faith or just love of the building and its heritage, wanting it kept in good shape) Especially considering how throughout the rest of this and other cathedrals, all through history, whoever paid for the work wanted to be immortalized for it in some way. But those anonymous patrons, if it was for faith, took to heart the scriptures in Matthew, Chapter 6 that God sees what you do in private, and it's better to do that than to boast about your giving so everyone sees it.

Wells Cathedral is so incredibly beautiful! The scissor arches holding up the tower are an example of creativity and beauty working together to solve a serious structural problem. The use of holes in the west front that allowed a choir and musical instruments to be heard by people standing on the cathedral green must’ve made the people feel like bands of angels were singing. I’d love to hear what that sounded like! Wells is my very favorite of the cathedrals in England.
One more thought. It breaks my heart to see the vandalism that was done by the religious iconoclasts of the 16th and 17th centuries. Their fanaticism has deprived us of so much more beauty. It also blinded them to the recognition and appreciation of the immense efforts of those who built and adorned these religious edifices as giving their finest work in order to worship Deity.

Absolutely not. The great cathedrals of England are *medieval* - no modern building could ever match their sublime beauty. Some of the finest English examples: Lincoln Cathedral, Durham Cathedral, York Minster, Ely Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral, Wells Cathedral, Winchester Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral, Gloucester Cathedral, Norwich Cathedral, Peterborough Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and one 17th century Baroque addition: St Paul’s Cathedral. Plenty of other gorgeous examples though that are not limited to just cathedrals; ranging from chapels (e.g. King’s College Chapel Cambridge) to cathedral-esque parish churches (e.g. Beverley Minster).

I think it's the biggest but I wouldn't describe it as finest.
It lacks the belief in the faith that the medieval cathedrals display literally in every stone. And that makes them divine.
I'm not a believer, but when I go into Salisbury the feeling is tangible that everybody who built it were inspired by something beyond the physical.

35 But apart from that, somewhere on the earth, exactly there upon the Sabino Canyon where William Marrion Branham stood, the African horseman stood there, descending this same mount Nebo. And the big trees of the earth bent down before him till their foliage touched the ground. It was from there that Moses saw Canaan at a distance with the gods of the nations; and it was from there that Elijah saw those evangelical movements of the 20th century. And it was from there that Paul saw all those seductions that had to come on earth in this end of times. And Paul cried and Paul said: "I know that after me, there will come on earth cruel wolves not sparing the flock". And today we see the fulfillment of all those prophecies with those evangelical leaders, with those evangelical prophets and pastors and reverends and bishops. May God keep his people! May the Almighty God who has sent me on April 24,1993 keeps you forever and I know that He has already done it! [Ed: The congregation says, "Amen!"].
36 And one day somebody asked me, "Prophet, how does it come that your posterity won’t be corrupt while you will leave it one day?" I said: No sir, It cannot be corrupt, for It will always follow the way that the God of the Spirits of the prophets has drawn at midnight! This posterity will never be organized under the reign of a pastor! It will never know the corruption which the Branhamists have known because 2 Chronicles 20:20 and Hosea 12:13 will always be before It. Even when God will visit, by a prophet, another people which is not theirs, It will distinguish that prophet as one distinguishes the day from the night! [Ed: The congregation says, "Amen!"].
37 The Bible says in Daniel 2:44 that it is a Kingdom which shall not pass! And in the days when these Catholic, Protestant, evangelical and Branhamist kingdoms will be established on the earth, in the days when the four animals that Daniel saw will be established on the earth, the God of the Heavens shall set up another Kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and this kingdom shall not be left to another people; it shall break in pieces and consume all those kingdoms, but itself shall stand forever. Because there is a secret hidden to the humanity today: God only talks by His prophets. [Ed: The congregation says, "Amen!"]. It shall break all including Branhamists in pieces!
38 Tell me sir, what is this Kingdom which breaks everything in pieces including Branhamists? What is this Kingdom which provokes urgent ministerial meetings in Congo among Branhamists? What is this Kingdom whose shadow haunts the Branhamist conventions everywhere in the world? This Kingdom is indeed that of Matthew 25:6! [Ed: The congregation says, "Amen!"].

Seems odd that this National cathedral allows so many statues/effigies when one of the major issues of the reformation was the idolatry of the Catholic faith/church. Are not these statues and effigies within the walls of Christ’s church a form of idolatry? Just a thought…🤔

In general, yes. But look up the Oxford Movement and Tractarianism within the Church of England. It was a big move toward more Roman Catholic forms of worship within Anglicanism. A swing that many lower-church Anglicans resent today.

Whoever the man in blue is interviewing the man in the suit in Westminster Abbey, you both along with your camera crew couldn't have done a worse disservice to those of us viewing what was SUPPOSED to be showing where monarchs lie - QE1 and MQoS - you showed MILLISECONDS worth of their tombs and had the majority of all footage focus on YOU. We don't watch this show - and may not from now on - to look at the interviewers and their guests. When you state you're going to show your viewing audience the tombs of famous monarchs, get the cameras OFF of you and actually SHOW the tombs. Unsubscribing now and looking for better documentaries.

2 And it is this way that many with diabolical anointings claim to be the midnight Cry. But I have not yet found one among them who has a call, a commission and a Message, announcing what we do not know. They are all serpents and they will never go beyond the limits of their own country. As they are false prophets, it is only in their homeland that they are recognized as being prophets. And empty people, corrupt in the flesh and in the spirit, people who have sacrificed their souls on the altar of ignorance, of worldliness and hell follow them.

While I agree doubt is essential to faith, I do not think this particular sculpture is appropriate to it's surroundings. It smacks of ego--not on the part of the artist, but on the part of those who approved it's being placed in this location. In this context, it looks like a disease. It is 100% out of character with the aesthetic of this magnificent building. . . . I love your show, it's fab.

14 John Wesley baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit like Martin Luther. But before William Branham, which church age the prophet messenger who brought the baptism in the name of Jesus Christ by immersion back to the earth open? An Ephesian 4 or a disciple of John Wesley could not baptize in the name of Jesus Christ by immersion because a disciple repeats his master.
15 When I speak, it is as your prophet even if you do not believe in me. This must not be a subject of discussion. The disciple of a dead prophet does not have the right to argue with a living prophet who wants to move a doctrine instituted by a dead prophet.
16 The four living creatures are the dispensation of the same Spirit of God in the ages. They guard the throne of God in the Heaven and they guard the living Church of God on earth, Ezekiel 1:4-12. They are the four Gospels guarding the book of the Acts of the Apostles and the cherubim guarding the tree of Life, Genesis 3:24. They are the twelve tribes, three on each side, guarding the ark of the Covenant. [Ed: The congregation says, Amen].
17 Well. Let’s see now the seven seals of Revelation chapter 6 and chapter 8. First, the First seal, Revelation 6:1-2: “And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as a voice of thunder, Come and see. And I saw: and behold, a white horse, and he that sat upon it having a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went forth conquering and that he might conquer.” It is the lion that calls John to come and see. Like Daniel, in Daniel 12:4, the thunders are the voice of God (Exodus 19:16 / John 12:28-29). The interpretation of these things was also given to John but he was forbidden to write them until the end of times (Revelation 10:4). The seven thunders here are God's voice explaining the seven seals at the time of the restoration of all things. The horseman moves forward with a bow but without any arrow. He scares but he cannot do anything. He is first without a crown because it’s a spirit, a doctrine (Revelation 2:6): it’s the Nicolaitanism. But he received the crown when he became the pope of Rome, the antichrist. And the Apostle John says that you have heard that an antichrist comes, and now there have come many antichrists. And understand by this that every president of churches is an antichrist. [Ed: The congregation says, “Amen!”].
18 Second seal: “And when it opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, Come and see. And another, a red horse, went forth; and to him that sat upon it, to him it was given to take peace from the earth, and that they should slay one another; and there was given to him a great sword.” Well. The four beasts of Joel 1:4 and Joel 2:25 and the four horsemen of Revelation 6 are identical. It’s one and the same horseman changing horses, ministries and aspects. Since the first seal, this horse is a church. It’s a white church like the true Church but when she started to kill the saints, she turned red. The red is the blood of the Apostles and the Protestants. The red is the blood of the saints: 68 million Christians were put to death by the Roman Catholic church. And the pope claims himself as the faithful representative of God on earth, the sovereign pontiff between God and men, the patriarch of the Apostles. Names of blasphemy according to Revelation 13:1. He is the vicar of the heaven and the earth but in reality, he is the vicar of the heaven, of the earth and of the purgatory. [Ed: The congregation says, “Amen!”].

1 Let’s pray! Lord Jesus Christ, we are happy to come and eat with Thou this morning. It is your grace that has placed us here! May this same grace direct our spiritual mind and may the revelation be granted to us from thou! I pray particularly for every brother and every sister, they have come from everywhere this morning to receive the Word that Thou have promised for their time. And allow them to go back from here healed, delivered and blessed, for it is said that he that receives a prophet as a prophet, shall receive the prophet’s reward. Amen!

40 No matter the sincerity of a Catholic, the greatest sin, it is the fact that he is a Catholic. No matter the sincerity of a Protestant, evangelical, mission or ministry or Branhamist, his greatest sin, it is the fact that he is a member of those churches. Read this passage well and you will see that they are not prophets of Baal but they are prophets of Jehovah, and they are about four hundred Jewish prophets and they prophesied sincerely under inspiration but the Bible says that it is an evil spirit that had inspired them that day and they did not know it themselves. But everything that happened, it was to Prophet Micah that God revealed it. God always has one mouth on earth. You see? God is free to reveal that to whom He wants. [Ed: The congregation says, “Amen!”].

1 Before getting to this preaching, I would like to hit two small points. The first relates to the testimonies that we must bear: a span [of time] should be set for testimonies of miracles, healings and of all that Lord Jesus Christ has done for us and this between the public confession and the time of the praise singing. Make it known to the deacon before the service, be very brief. Like the public confession, each testimony must be a message for those who are listening to you and it is not good to conceal what God has done for you.
