Enjoyed that, great comentary from Claude. Funny watching Rick 'itching' to try out everything Claude was saying, only for Claude to say 'No Ball' and Rick looking so dissapointed to have to do a drill without a ball.
@@KristinaBolton Yeah, but whats your handicap?
My life is totally changed because I've been earning $15,250 returns from my $4,000 investment with Allison Parker
I'm a long time investor, withdraw my profit of over £ 56,000 during the covid 19 pandemic
@@KristinaBolton sshsss
I think almost every golfer is like that but Claude knows what he's doing it's absolutely amazing
Honestly? I think that is the best golf video I’ve ever seen, and my God I’ve seen an awful lot. Haven’t we all?! I’m sure this is an eye opening revelation to 95% of us.
Absolute credit to Claude for doing this. His focus and single mindedness to have Rick concentrate on what he is saying is one of the things that makes him the coach he is - no deviation, even when his Dad was walking past!
Full credit to you Rick for putting yourself in such a vulnerable place for us all to see. The way you took it all on board and came out at the other end to fix your swing issues says a lot about who you are.
Brilliant watch.
Well said
Yeah, thinking the same, gives us good thought/practice tips. I’m sure it’s a win for Harmon too who has all that expensive tech setup to give great bio data. Man, it’s the next step up from launch monitors measuring ball/club data..... to actual body movement. Wish we had this offering over here
Totally agree. This also shows how import this pressure mat is. Golf swing happens in matter of seconds and even though the coach is filming you on the phone, how likely is it that he would spot this very minor "wrong" weight shift?
Listening to Claude talk about in the pod finding the one big problem of the golf swing and fixing that, and then actually getting to see it is really cool.
Just the drills he gave you makes your audience better at golf. Thanks Rick! And huge shout out to Claude for the going on the channel!
Ditto!
Only if they apply to your particular swing issues. Otherwise you're likely to create more issues
This is basically ZEN Golf Mechanic teaching with the weight transfer and the board he is using. Great stuff.
Would love to see Rick do a video with Marcus at Zen. Seems like the drills and aids used by Marcus are just what Rick needs and fit with the recommendations made here by Harmon. This was an excellent video and would be a great companion video to one with Marcus.
Was looking for this comment. Started watching zen last summer and went from 22 handicap to 12 with no silly swing thoughts.
The speed at which Claude was able to figure out the issue is unreal. I’ve wasted so much money on lessons over the years with not a tenth of the insight that Claude produced in 15 secs. Absolutely incredible!!!!
We always want one swing is simple
Probably because he looked before the lesson
You can tell what a genius Claude is by making complex changes & tweaks sound so simple and easy to understand. Incredible content Rick…well deserved, but man you’re one lucky dude to have had that lesson 👍
So many people understand complex concepts in the golf swing, the very best teachers can explain them so simply its crazy. You can tell just from this video why Claude is one of the best
Nail on the head fella 👍
hes a genuis
You can get a lesson from Claude for $700 for 90 minutes
I watched this video three times. Once for entertainment, twice to get the information and try it, third to make sure I have the right information because it was mind blowing. This is exactly what I needed
Its like I have just had a lesson with Claude there. This is why you create such good content. You have so many strings to your bow. Roll on the 2023 YT catalogue!!
Excellent, funnily enough I have the exact same problem as Richard and similarly I can hit the driver great but struggle with the irons. Great work Claude.
This might just be the most fascinating and informative video you've been a part of. One to repeat and repeat
It’s a great lesson on weight distribution and movement. Funnily enough Iv seen a clip of your own teaching a simplified lesson on this. Just place a blade of grass or a T an inch forward of the ball and aim to take the T as the bottom point, all weight forward! Very clever tho, loved it!
Everything Claude talks about is relevant to, not just scratch golfers, but to all golfers. And so easy to understand. Super vid. Nice to see Butch too.
Unless someone is already doing those things but feels like they aren't so they start overdoing it. Lessons are individualized. What works for one may destroy another
wow...not every day I can get a free lesson from the best! Rick, you and i are about the same size, weight, and swing speed and I do the exact same thing you do.... I also crush off the tee and have inconsistent striking everywhere else....this was super helpful to me....and it looks like it'll be perfect for you too! Thanks man and travel safe!
This seems like the trip of a life time for Rick. He's done so much and played such different courses and interacted with so many high level golf professionals.
Love how Claude mentioned Dr. Scott Lynn. I love Scott's drills wish we had a swing cataylst closer to me.
Wow this was incredible. Rick, your ability to go from leader/coach imparting knowledge on to others to being able to soak in knowledge from someone like Claude or Dan Whittaker is what makes for such great content. Love these videos, can't wait for the one with Brad Faxon
My favorite part of the video Rick "Don't let go!". He was so scared Claude was going to let go of those bands and they were going to hit ricks Boys 😂😂😂
By far one of the best lessons I’ve ever seen on RUclips.
Thanks Rick!
Thats probably the best lesson i have ever watched it was simple clear and simple to follow with understanding as to why to do something
I have a similar problem to you as I don't transfer my weight very well and tend to hit thin shots despite playing off 5 so this has been very useful. Thanks
Great, great session…this reinforces what I’ve been working on at the Mike Bender Academy ..many thanks.
What an absolute legend! So incredibly professional. This man has given thousands of lessons and still brings the passion, the energy, and the enthusiasm!
I have exactly the same issues re inconsistent striking.
I watched this video, then spent an hour in the back garden doing the zero and half swing drills.
Unbelievable. Awesome tips. The best I've seen.
Best lesson I've seen from a top teacher!! Any golfer can benefit from this material! One additional comment: don't lose your tempo! Rick gets quick; he needs to keep it a little slower (smooth) and he will play some really good golf!
Amazing to see that one bad swing element effect so much....clubface....head position.......swing path and balance. So cool for Claude to take the time with you so we can also benefit. Great stuff.
Went from a 25 to a 5 after this video😂. In all seriousness, this was a great video and as a mid handicap, a really good lesson. Rick, I appreciate as others have mentioned, you putting yourself out there on camera to benefit not just you, but others. I enjoy your channel and always have fun watching your absolute enthusiasm with the game we all love.
Love this Rick! The downshift board is such a great tool… so simple ever wonder why we didn’t see them before!
I love mine and everyone I’ve helped with it
What’s the brand name of the board?
@@alcw625 downshift board!
This video and the Brad Faxon putting video are probably the most helpful golf videos I've watched on YT. It looked like you were a having the time of your life in America. More like this please Rick.
Kudos to whoever is doing the production on these. The earthbound music was supreme.
This is honestly one of the most insightful and best videos I have watched to do with golf. Simple techniques I have never seen before. Yes we all know to get weight forward, but as you probably thought your weight was forward, it clearly showed it wasn’t until you tried a few push strokes forward. So simple yet so effective.
I hope to shoot a pb next round and love golf even more than I already do
If you won’t a insightful videos, When you get a min. Look up a guy channel called zen golf mechanics. you won’t be disappointed. That where he’s got the board idea from. 👍
I am jealous. Playing the Floridian and getting a free private lesson from Claude. I have a similar problem topping the ball so I watched the lesson a few times yesterday and practiced what he was showing you. Today I implemented on the course and it works really well. Obviously I need to practice it a lot more but it was a good starting point. Thanks for the great video and you need to visit us more often.
I think it's brilliant that one of the top coaches in the world makes it relatively simple. This video and the podcast with Harmon are brilliant
Been following your show for 8+ years now. Bought the R15 back in the days thanks to you. Your swing looks best today.
I've watched your content for the better part of a decade and enjoyed pretty much all of it, and this was the best I can remember. We've all seen your swing and tendencies for years, and Claude's drills and how he worked you through the paces and helped you tackle your gremlins was fascinating.
Great instructions from a very clever man could listen to him all day your very lucky mate keep going forward 👏👏👏👏
Maybe one of the best youtube golf teaching sessions I've seen. Great that you shared it Rick.
This is why amateurs need swing coaches. Great content!! Easy fixes can change your game. Rick the swing is looking solid.
Great video loved watching and listening to this. However you missed an F bomb at the 12:45ish mark 😂
It was my favorite part...
Sloppy craftsmanship (joking, don’t mind the odd slip) bet Guy would of caught it 😂😂😂
Always been a big fan of your swing but man, a few of those swings after Claude helped you get that weight forward and it was money! Big difference!
This will probably be the best coaching (for me personally) that I’ve seen in years. I could really use this type of instruction!
I think u should watch and practice that everyday and you would qualify for “ The Open”. That might be one of the greatest 25 minutes of golf instruction I’ve ever seen! Worth every penny!
What a valuable lesson, not just for yourself, but for everyone else who struggles with the same issue. Great video, loved it.
That was AMAZING! Thank you, Rick and Claude!
Thanks again Rick for some fabulous content. I loved both Claude and Brads Podcasts, and cant wait to see the putting lesson you have with Brad.
This particular video was just superb, and I cant wait to try some of these drills.
I absolutely loved Claude's passion for teaching, and his use of basic teaching tools and technology was fascinating. Cant wait to see how your golf progresses in 2023.
DAMN!! AWESOME!! Your vids are getting BETTER AND BETTER, keep up the great work! I'm going to incorporate much of this in my swing. Claude seems like a great guy.
@The Rick Shiels Golf Show On Nicegram haha, hadn’t done it before! Love the channel😎👍
Thanks so much for this Rick, it’s really insightful.
This is something I’ve been working on with my own coach, just with a different language, and perspective, but this different communication method really helps with my own understanding of what the coach is trying to get me to do.
Good luck with the improvements.
This is really good. The pressure trace gives great info. I noticed recently that my weight gets into my toes and I started looking for how pressure seems to move around in the feet of others. I saw that you go into your toes (Brooke Henderson has a similar thing) but I didn't see the backing up of the weight back towards the right foot into impact. Hopefully these ideas and drills help you - I'll be playing with them myself too.
This was straight gold!!! I’d love to see some more of this for us poor folk to steal some gems for our game thanks to both.
Absolutely brilliant! I think every golfer watching that can take something from it. Me being a high handicapper especially!
Claude’s got a new fan. Loved the podcast too. Seems like such a down to earth guy that is so passionate about golf. I’d do a lot to get a lesson from him. Way to go Rick!
Great video. That is one of the things I have had issues with since having both hips replaced. Claude's work with you gives me an outline of how to do this work and get my weight transfer back in line.
Really insightful lesson, I couldn’t believe how little he charged members for a 90min lesson at the Floridian.
I could listen to Claude all day will definitely be taking these tips to the range, so simple but so effective
Just watching this tells me this is a habit I have too - which is why I’m not getting a consistent strike except off the tee. I find it extremely fascinating and so good to watch the actual application of not just the tech, but being able to actively replicate and adjust it and see it in action - fantastic stuff
shift ur hips faster davis...u'll add 40 more yards
@@jeffc1736 I tried firing hips quickly but body wants to stand up too early. How do i turn hips without that happening
Dude at swing catalyst had Crossfield doing the drill with the club on the glutes and the band....awesome power move!!
just don't overdue all these lessons, you learn so many new things that you can't take them to the course and revert to what you have been doing. keep it up!
Yo Rick's looking like he's working with a BBL DUMPERrrrr! 7:29🤣
Learnt so much from that! Plenty to work on next time I'm at the range! thank you
Class how it ends with “sometimes you’ll see Tigers plane flying in” 👌🏻😂.
Please more lessons from this amazing coach.
Golf is hard. What we do and what we think we do are more often than not, miles apart. Guess that why lessons can be so important to improve. Love how one of the worlds best coaches just keeps it simple. 👍⛳
Great video, I learnt so much, especially as I tend to thin my irons too often. Off to the range shortly to try some of Claude's drills.
Quality vid this Rick. Funnily enough I do that last step drill every time I go to the range for my ‘warmup’ as it benefits strike massively for the first few shots. I’d never actually seen it I just taught myself it. Claude watch out mate I’m coming for you 😂
I have EXACTLY the same issues...Great Drives, Irons either slight pull to left or thin...This is fantastic
Wow, I have never seen this depth of instruction. There is more than a few things I will take away from this video. Thanks Rick!!
Wow not really jealous! How well does Claude explain things and that studio is unbelievable!
This was so freaking awesome because my swing is very similar to yours Rick and I face the same issues. Fantastic stuff!
I always admire how the very best teachers are able to fix the root problem in such simple, repeatable and easy to understand methods.
I have been looking forward to this one, super interesting & informative. I really like his coaching style.
Absolutely brilliant session. Thank you so much for sharing this Rick.
@official_Rick_Shiels. Hi Rick, not sure if this is legitimate, so please let me know.
I absolutely brilliant lesson. I really feel I can translate it to my own game. Claude so effectively identified the main problem and its solution without any unnecessary complication.
Good stuff Rick! I love Claude’s enthusiasm! You can see it and hear it in his voice, he loves everything about his job!
I have a feeling that after this lesson, you will have to change the name of the game to break 70 because 75 will not be an issue anymore. I'm loving it Rick, keep it up!!
Pretty much the best instructional video I've seen. CH3 would have picked up the weight transfer issue without the tech, but the tech certainly helps to hammer the point home.
What a great film. Seeing one of the world's great coaches make golf simple. And to see Rick, the world's biggest golf RUclipsr look like a wide-eyed beginner just soaking it all in.
Awesome vid rick, Claude’s passion and knowledge is infectious 👌🏼
What an teriffic inside into the golfswing and what your body does before and after impact. It gave me so much new information which I can use myself to understand what happens if the ball goes to the left what I have done wrong and how I can correct it. The way Claud explained everything, it is understandable for everyone. Great video, keep up the good work.
I only follow 2 online instructors.. zen mechanics and athletic motion… over the last year of rebuilding my swing grip, posture pivot etc the only thing I now focus on and practice religiously is getting the club on plane and re,centring.. Good lesson Rick 👍
@official_Rick_Shiels. Hi is this a scam?
That was so informative, great watch, be good to see it in practice on the next break 75 Rick
The way Claude speaks is so elegant and smart, hes's a genuis
what a gem this video was and will be forever
I have to agree with Andy Clark, one of the best lessons i have ever seen given. Claude is incredible at explaining this and gave a bunch of solid feeling drills to make these changes "feel" less strange. Great video Rick
It’s very good when you said
Sometimes I put the ball out front making you go forward
I was also doing this last week
9 iron ball forward making you go forward with the swing
Fantastic, discovered an insight into the true golf swing and also how hard it is to separate the wheat from the chaff with regards to purported on-line golf instructors😍😍
Rick, great video. I am so glad Claude brought up how much natural power you are losing with your swing when you don't have proper weight shift. Seeing you cover the ball at the end was so satisfying. Well done!
This was so very valuable Rick, for anyone watching. Great stuff!
So good to see a golf professional needing and getting an important golf improvement lesson. It shows how amateur golfers could use a refresher lesson every once in a while. Now get started fixing the 1 million things Rick!
Great lesson I’ll be implementing some of that into my swing 🏌🏾🏌🏾
Now thats a great instruction vid!! Damn! I think that was a lesson for not just you Rick! Most of us needed that! Thanks and keep it up!!!
19:38 would love to see Guy wrapping you in that elastic band on the course and shouting 'Don't let me win Rick!!' 🤣🤣
This is SO applicable to so many golfers and myself especially. Its so easy to get too much weight onto your backside and it causes all of the thin and fat shots. Definitely gonna be trying out some of these drills.
Love the way he gives you the feels with bands, etc. so important to know what it feels like.
That was awesome. Thanks for putting yourself out there to be assessed.
As said below probably the best golf lesson I have seen. Pete Cowan/ Danny Maude does not have a patch on this. The tools CH3 uses, his tone, his feedback, his positivity, every coach needs to adopt - love that!
Everything Claude said made complete sense, he explains everything so well
Thank you for sharing this Rick! This is incredibly useful and insightful.
The step drill is one I do before every round now, it really does help with strike .
As a golf coach it just goes to show how technology has changed coaching , when you tell someone your staying on your back people have to take your word for it , now with technology it's telling you what your doing so you know you can believe what's being said .......
I laughed with you when you said I use the ball forward to make people hit the ball better , I do that all the time too lol lol ,
The pressure in the feet mat is an amazing transformation in golf coaching , great vlog Rick 🏌️♂️⛳️👍
Just watched this, how brilliant is that. I sometimes have the issue with not getting weight through the ball and end up with thins and tops. Will try some of the drills and half swings when i next go range
