- Welcome to the Trick Shift Garage! In this video, we’re going to show you how to clean the Mass Air Flow sensor for our 2007 Nissan Altima with the 2.5 liter engine. This can apply to model years 2007-2012. Cleaning your Mass Air Flow sensor will restore lost power and can clean up drive-ability issues, such slow acceleration and a rough idle. This process is pretty straightforward with the help of CRC Mass Air Flow cleaner, we simply remove the sensor and spray it down thoroughly, wait about 20-30 minutes and then re-install. Thanks for watching!

Sweet! Welcome to the channel! We'll have more Altima videos as repairs pile up, thanks for watching! 😁
Great vid! Easy to follow each step. Appreciate it!
You're welcome, glad you found it helpful! 😁
Thanks! You made it look easy. My Nissan05.
You're welcome! Not sure if it works for your 05 Nissan but cleaning the MAF is pretty much the same for most cars, spray a lot and never touch it lol. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😁
Would non chlorinated brake clean work? I only have that or carb/air intake cleaner
Unfortunately not, brake and carb cleaners are too strong for the delicate sensors inside the MAF sensor. Thanks for watching 🙂
so if service engine soon light comes on and code reads MAF sensor is it possible that it just needs to be cleaned or does it need to be fully replaced?
It could be either one. Personally, I'd try to clean it first since it's cheaper and a quick fix. If it does fix, then just replace it and it should clear the service engine soon light. Thanks for watching! 👍

Thank you.
Do I have to disconnect my battery first?
You don't have to disconnect the battery for this. Thanks for watching! 👍

⚘️ Thank you.
When and why should we clean it? I have an 08 Altima. Thnx
You can clean them every time you change the air filter. So you can clean the MAF first, and while it's drying, you can replace the air filter 😉
You should clean it to help the sensor correctly read the amount of air coming into the engine, it helps the engine run at peak efficiency so better fuel mileage and power compared to a dirty MAF sensor. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching! 👍
Thanks. I just had the Service Engine Soon light come on, and I had the code pulled by AutoZone. This is the issue that came up. They recommended cleaning the MAF sensor, but with non-chlorinated brake cleaner 🤔
I recommend MAF sensor cleaner only. Thanks for watching! 👍
@@TrickShiftGarage I'm going to return the brake cleaner and get the MAF sensor cleaner. Thanks
