This is going to be my intro into scale crawling. I drive big trucks and play a lot of Snow Runner so this will be perfect for me.
I’m a big rig freak and operate a twin steer concrete truck for a living so this is a must have for me 👍🏻
Just when I think I won't buy another traxxas, they come out with this beast.
What a beast. I’m looking forward to seeing everyones customizations. This is a cool one for sure.

I hope they release a clear body soon, or the aftermarket does. When I worked for Sunbelt Rentals I drove a tandem axle rollback, I'd love to replicate 'ol Pickle.

Finally Traxxas isn’t over charging for one of their vehicles. It always seems like you are just paying for the name. Look forward to what’s you come out with for this build. I’ve always been a big fan of your stuff, people keep trying to buy my F450.

IMO they missed the mark by not making the bed tilt. If I'm going to haul my RC around for realism, i think being able to load and unload without the magic god hand is required.

I think Traxxas missed a trick with the fixed bed and no winch fitted …. ohh and a proper front radiator grill

excellent unboxing review, i really like the size and black chrome. the two big disappointments are the body clip holes and the sticker front grill but i am still definitely getting one
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I totally agree. I know some magnetic mounts are in the works as well as different grill options. Ill be working on some machined parts for this truck: Headache rack, then scale front and rear bumpers.

It’s fun. And no specific products yet. I tend to have a lot of projects running at the same time. I’m excited to show the next one but it’s been hard to film with too much background noise lately.

Thx! I forgot about that! It’s an element rc knight runner IFS chassis with custom wheel covers sliders and bumpers to fit the body from a toy grade hotwheels cyber truck.
Would be awesome to see it have a functinal row back bed that goes in and out and up and down like a wrecker

Most flatbed tow trucks do not have rails on the bed for obvious reasons. I would just remove them cuz it is still scale.

Kind of regret spending $1300 hundred bucks on the snap on edition before now!
Id leave the Snap On on the shelf, and then mod the standard version. Its one of the reasons I never looked more closely at the Snap On truck. Too rare to heavily modify.
I have a cen 450 with an extendable boom and wheel lift. Not as pretty as yours. I also have a umg10 thats streched and has a functional rollback bed and winch. It has a 450 cab cut down to a 2door. All functional from remote

It can be a challenging task.
The chassis would make a good base to a custom winnebago built.

Shouldn't be that hard to pull the flatbed off and install a trailer hitch for a scale trailer?? I guess you might have to cut the back of the frame to move the back lights forward.
Hard to say, but after the roll back kit is installed I plan to push another rock up a hill. Id like to eventually have a wheel lift as well. That will take a lot of work to execute but I'm going to give it a shot.
I own the trx6 snap-on hauler and I pre order two ultimate hauler so I can put my snap-on hauler back in the box
How much would a tow truck bed with the tow boom cost?? I'm very interested in getting one..
Thx. That tow bed may never see the light of day. Lots of challenges to overcome to get it to a reproducible state.
There’s has to be a way of trimming those rails that stick up on the bed and putting some kind of extensions on the sides right? To make it wide enough for a crawler?
That’s on my very short list. Digging in this week. 1/2” on either side would do the trick.

Cut the rails off I think it would even look better Plus your truck will sit more flat on the flatbed

I did make a prototype but haven’t worked on the hauler for some time now. I’ve been working on 2 other projects but I’m sure I’ll get back to that one soon. Thanks for checking in.

cool video but spectrum two in one is an absolute downgrade no point in doing that at all just do a 1080 or a fusion or just leave it as it is. The only thing that makes Traxxas electronics look great is spectrum electronics
Idk much about trx4s but u said lowering it would it be better to do a portal delete or smaller shocks it how would u accomplish that? Thanks in advance and
There are aftermarket kits that replace the portal ends of the axles with straight axles. That would lower the truck about 15mm or so. And then going from 90mm shocks to 80mm would bet around 1” lower over all.
