- Don't visit Switzerland until you watch this video! Here are our top travel tips to know BEFORE traveling to Switzerland. In today's video we kick things off with an early morning flight.. too early... hahaha from Barcelona, and thanks to Britt's inside tip we barely catch our flight dodging hours of delays! But we made it to Zurich, Switzerland (which arguably has the coolest welcoming of any airport) and hopped on a speed train to Lucerne... or is it Luzern?? Get ready to become the Traveling Swiss with us as we embark on a FUN tour (filled with lots of laughs too haha!) of Old Town city streets, Chapel Bridge, Spreuerbrücke Bridge, Hotel Château Gütsch, Museggmauer City Wall, the Reuss River, Lake Lucerne, and SOOOO much more!!! I have never been into the Strata Famiglia just outside. And you inspired me to see Cinque Terre and Tormina. I usually just do popular sights. This is my 43rd cruise. Just returned from a month cruising Japan and repositioned the ship to Alaska.
You've had the best vacation ever! So many memories made with your parents! Unforgettable! A once in a lifetime opportunity.

The airport was just setting the stage for the breathtaking Swiss scenery! 😉 Yeah it was a bit chilly, we saw lots of people wearing beanies and gloves with their jackets and jeans, but it wasn't freezing or anything like that either. Thanks for watching ❤️
Oh my! Switzerland is a completely different kind of beauty. I was struck at how clean the streets were, and love the cobblestone roads. All those areas you were walking around seemed to be car free. No crowds, just winding roads that made you want to keep walking. The wooden bridge was beautiful! Just a fabulous first day in Switzerland!! I must point out that Britt looks beautiful in whatever she's wearing. From flowy sun dresses, to pants, coat and white sneakers, she's a fashion plate. Sure looking forward to tomorrow!! Yodeling my little heart out here! Hope you can hear!
Hopefully Britt's father will be able to enjoy some more of the ice cream while you are in the country of Switzerland, perhaps in the same city or another one.

Omw I nannied in Zurich 26 years ago and this took me right back. I visited Luzern a couple of times and loved it!!! My friend and I used to go to Movenpick all the time and I am with your dad, Britt, it’s definitely the best ice cream!!! Enjoy your time xxx

@@JaredandBritt oh yes 🙌🏼 and we went up a cog train to the highest mountain which I am terrified of heights but rode a cable car down and saw goats with bells. Heidi was my favorite book growing up (I’m 67 and my 50th anniversary is next year) we were on an EF educational tour. Then to Verona, Venice, Florence, Rome ,Monaco ,and Paris. 2 weeks of a lot of walking. It was about 2005 or so. Such memories. Loved the cheese in Switzerland. Enjoy. We stayed in Lucerne

Nothing is cheap over there. Best tip is to use your credit card there. Otherwise you'll have to pay in their currency. Lucerne is a great city. Best attraction to do is a lake cruise. Soda's alone there cost $4!
Now you need to visit Asia... China, Tokyo, etc. Amazing place.

To me the Lowendenkmal in Luzern is just amazing but in a kind of sad way given the monument is about loss in war. Just in the side back the streets all of a sudden is a carved marble cliff.

Great question, we learned a tip from the locals to just use our credit card (which we did and never had an issue), then when checking out it gives you an option to purchase in USD or their currency, you choose their currency for a better conversion rate. Not 100% sure on the temperature, but everyone had on jackets/ cold weather attire, but I think it was somewhere around 60º F with rain on/off

No, but luckily it seems like every Swiss speaks perfect English so we've had no troubles getting around. But that would be cool to speak German/French 🇨🇭
