    Hi! I've got a question. The problem I see it is that since faders are not motorized, when switching from 1-8 to 9-16 channels, if you made changes in daw in channels 1-8 you will lose them later if you made also in 9-16 supposing this fader movement is absolute. Is this correct?

    Have music on several tracks in DAW.
    M12 controls mixdown on DAW. All Compressor knobs, EQ knobs, Pan Knobs and Faders on M12 controlling each track on the DAW (All 10 tracks) during mixdown, playback and recording.
    SO basically how to use all the controllers on the M12 during mixdown on my DAW (Cubase). Because searching around here and the web it seems the M12 can only control the Faders and Pan knobs during DAW mixdown when acting as an audio interface or DAW controller. Nice explanatory video that i was wondering about.
    So in order to do all this mastering, we got to limit to 8 tracks?
    Since 9/10 will be used afterwards for SD play or extra EQing the final stereo track? And after you EQd that stereo track, you got to bounce/ mix it down one more time to the main to export the very final product?

    • @RecordingStudio9

      Not really. If you have to use all 10 tracks, then mix down to main and export a stereo mix. Create a new song and import the stereo mix to do the "mastering" session.

    Simple question. Why isn’t my mix on the board reflecting the recording into my DAW? For instance, the panning of a channel, EQ or anything. The tracks appear dry once I record to Ableton from the 10 outputs of the Mixer. Doesn’t matter what knob i’ve turned before recording In Ableton. Nothing reflects. What settings am I missing? Also, the “Main” Mix fader doesn’t push up the “Master volume” at all. I can only hear from the channel faders. Just bought this mixer today and still learning it. Hi, A question, but since it doesn't have motorized faders, isn't it unusable with any DAW? ,when opening a project there is no correspondence between the faders of the DAW and those of the model 12 and as soon as you move the faders of the model 12 those of the DAW move from the optimal position.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  Год назад

      Like with many non-motorised Controllers, the best option is to use them to write the fader automation. Then even if the faders don’t match, automation overrides the fader moves.

    It's amazing that Tascam can create a product like the Model 12 but for some reason, cannot provide an owner's manual that makes sense. My specific issue is in the volume level I end up with after I transfer the SD file to the computer. It becomes a wav file. When I want to send it off or share, I convert it to mp3 using a converter but the volume is much lower. I feel like there is no control over the finished result of what you may want to share. I assume you do a mixdown on the M12 and then export stereo WAV file, then copy the WAV file to PC.
      Make sure the mixdown levels are loud enough and hitting the 0db on the meters. If the fader level set to achieve 0db is too loud on the speakers, you can turn down the speakers or set the MAIN output levels from the MENU.

    5:35 Duh...That is also NOT what DAW-controller mode means.....It means it is a control surface, like a MIDI controller, no more no less.

    I wish I could use the 5 pin din outputs to control the Behringer XR18 mixer. Sadly, the HUI or Universal Midi Control is not routed to the MIDI din outputs, only MIDI USB. Am I right or is there a work around?

      Correct. No workaround that I can currently think of.

    To bad you can’t use a different effect on each channel. If you could this thing would be a dream

      Why do you need different effect for each channel. You will never find any audio mixer with more that 2 or 3 FX buses that channels feed to. For it's size, 1 FX bus is plenty.

      @@RecordingStudio9 why should I have to choose between having a reverb and and a delay or be forced into having to use the combo on all the channels. Having individual assignments for each channel adds flexibility. A lot of the fx on here I don't even use because I would have to sacrifice the primary one that I use.
