Maybe so. But if you go back to 2010 they copied a whole lotta notes/elements from that show which is why I actually prefer that year to 2012. But hey, to each their own.
This editing is reaaaally cool. It feels really gonzo and super street (or I guess 'in the lot' since its drumline). This is kickass man, very creative. Well done
I just learned the 2nd movement mostly from this video - THANK YOU! Btw for those looking at the snare transcription of the 2nd movement on snarescience... it's like 80% correct. Check the lot videos for the right stickings because the transcription is reeeally dummed-down, haha.
We played hertas, paradiddlediddles, rolls, cha-chudas, cheese cha-chudas, inverts, flam taps, fast flam taps, singles! And it's always been my dream to be part of the Bluecoats. Unfortunately, I've never made it past the first round or got a call back yet. One more year to try though!
my school has 3 and they al have broken in completely different ways ie the back snaps the screw that holds the mount breaks the hinge nut gets rubbed down untill your harness isnt solid
Those are just regular IP snare sticks (Probably Casellas) but they have these little Innovative Percussion mutes on the butt ends. I've seen them available on Musician's Friend before. It's just a little black rubbery kind of thing that's meant to put on snare sticks to make them into practice sticks. They just used them for a different timbre and put them on the butt ends so they could flip it back and forth between the muted sound and regular tip. Cool stuff.
I've played on a lot of lines. Everybody wants the fast rolls and the cheese inverts, but I'm here to tell you. :24 to :26 is the most impressive part of this video. Simple beats played cleanly beats all.
Scoops, they take sound and project it forward and up to the box. Otherwise a lot of the snare sound is going to the ground, which is kind of like a horn angle facing straight down.
I mo need ta go change my shotes nah! Whoever wrote these cadences: Genius. The percussionists performing: Virtuossos. If I've heard better I don't remember it! Well done Gents and (Ladies if you were there but I missed ya or you wrote the music).
It's called 'dutting'; It's basically count out the rests, but saying numbers takes too much time for high tempo parts, so they 'dut'. it's only used in actual drum corp and DCI bands, you'd never see it on a drum set. But thanks for asking.
If you think these guys aren't playing the fuck out these drums... you're wrong. So wrong it's hilarious. They easily were one of the best lines (if not THE best) in DCI this year, hands-down. Show some freaking respect.
Quad line was so beast that year, then again the bluecoats tenors are always great
the most _groovy. book. ever._
Their 2015 was better.
Maybe so. But if you go back to 2010 they copied a whole lotta notes/elements from that show which is why I actually prefer that year to 2012. But hey, to each their own.
I got motion sickness from the camera operator.
People wonder why i love this drumline. Then, I show them this video. love the Bluecoats!!!!!!!
Best drumline I have ever heard and I was on the drumline at USC..
You've never looked into DCI?

Thank you for the wonderful audio quality. Well done.
Dang! This drumline blends so well and the clarity is amazing. Everything is very crisp!
how dynamically good they were and the cleanliness is what makes this sound amazing
I love the tuning on those snares.
I'm so glad I have a sub-woofer in my room. Those bass-runs are just incredible.
now THIS is a true drumline. Straight groovin' with just the right amount of complexity and flow
words cant describe my love for the Bluecoats drumline
I really love the fast pace camera. With the quick zoom and everything. Adds great effect.
I can't stop watching the beginning of this..
Those Quads
The dynamics in this are fantastic. Slowed down a little at times, but other than that pretty frickin amazing, especially their doubles
lol vanguard got third, and their line was sick. But I marched on the quad line at coats. We got 2nd.
I watched/listened to this with really expensive [borrowed] Bose headphones... it's so lifelike!
Sooo... Many.... Grooves..... Bluecoats are ROCKIN'
I love the tuning of all these drums. Whoo!!!!
This is exactly why I love the Bluecoats
OMG the tuning is amazing. especially the snares
This editing is reaaaally cool. It feels really gonzo and super street (or I guess 'in the lot' since its drumline). This is kickass man, very creative. Well done

Great audio work.
The snare tech for my indoor line is the outside snare on the left. Taha's awesome!

Great production too
From snare player to snare player.....THAT WAS GREAT!!!
I can't tell who's more badass: Center snare this year for coats, or center for Cavies in 2011..
AWESOME!!!!
i love the bluecoats, forever and always haha
Awesome, I'll definetly learn this music!
I've played on a lot of lines. Everybody wants the fast rolls and the cheese inverts, but I'm here to tell you. :24 to :26 is the most impressive part of this video. Simple beats played cleanly beats all.
my babies... have them all
I think I'll have to agree with that.. Dan is a monster both in chops and physique
Non, Il s'appelle TJ. Right end snare. You can find him in Mystiques vids this year too.
No, drummers are a different breed of people and whatever they say seems to work for them. We do what we please as drummers.
It's how they stay in time.
Scoops, they take sound and project it forward and up to the box. Otherwise a lot of the snare sound is going to the ground, which is kind of like a horn angle facing straight down.
They Should of won drums this year. Hands Down
That tenor line is full of really good looking people.
Bass line...play louder!!! I'm starving for it!
I mo need ta go change my shotes nah! Whoever wrote these cadences: Genius. The percussionists performing: Virtuossos. If I've heard better I don't remember it! Well done Gents and (Ladies if you were there but I missed ya or you wrote the music).
sooooooo clean. holy shit.
Why does no one ever comment on how good the bass drums are in these videos?
Which is not to say that rest isn't great! It is!
The Chairmen, The Phantom Recliners, Carolina Cradles, The Ottoman Crusaders, Playstation Crest, The Cots...
snare science has a good transcription of the opener and drum break
Tom Rarick, legendary
It's called 'dutting'; It's basically count out the rests, but saying numbers takes too much time for high tempo parts, so they 'dut'. it's only used in actual drum corp and DCI bands, you'd never see it on a drum set. But thanks for asking.
To the posts of ticks. Rockford. In July. Finals is August. That's still early season if you ask me.
Oh my god.. That tuning..
i fucking love bluecoats
If you think these guys aren't playing the fuck out these drums... you're wrong. So wrong it's hilarious. They easily were one of the best lines (if not THE best) in DCI this year, hands-down. Show some freaking respect.

Has anyone transcribed the beginning tenor part?? I need it
