Dynasty drums are the best drums I have EVER used I swear. I’m personally not a big fan of the DFX snares but the DFZ Custom Elite ones like they use are my favorite. I’m personally not crazy about like “Yamaha” or some of the others. The only thing about dynasty drums that is kinda “iffy” is they feel just a little heavier but for the quality, I don’t really care.
@@landontripp1480 I kinda miss my dfz I was never a huge fan of Yamaha either pearl different story. I've been thinking about getting rid of my dfx and replacing it for a dfz.
@@jeromieb038 So fun fact I’ve seen your videos on your channel and thought the dfz you had was pretty cool. I personally want to get get my own but Pearl seems like a good brand because there drums seem really similar to dynasty but that’s just me. Ik a lot of people don’t like the T-Max carriers for dynasty because of how thick they are but I personally like them better than the Randall May harnesses because after using Yamaha for a while, you will start to miss dynasty I swear. DFX snares aren’t bad either but I prefer the DFZ ones.
WOW!!! First ... absolutely AMAZING footage!! Holy HD ... incredible A/V. Second ... this is one fantastic book for a drumlin. Incredibly musical, dynamic, punchy, throttling ... total package! Period!! Another stellar product from this era's zen master of Marching Percussion. Dynamite!!!
It is quite frustrating. haha It sounds great, but even just that millisecond off makes it look like the video and audio are one. I think the only bad part was for like the first minute and a half though.
Sergio Bravo I think it's just sheer time. Like I'm a decent snare drum player but I can guarantee that if I spent the crazy amount of time these guys did rehearsing I could fit right in. I'm not trying to say this isn't impressive and that these guys don't have skills, because it is and they do, but they spend soooooo much time on this music it would be amazing if it were bad
@SheikTijl At pretour, Paul would come over the mic everyday and say "Guys, man, I wish you could hear just how good those snares sound". Every single day of pretour.
Snare sticks are innovative percussion FS-PR's and the batter head is a Remo BlackMax. I'm not sure what their side heads are, but most likely they're a remo Falams. Either way don't quote me on the side head.
You do realize what their show was about right? Dada? The book fit the music pretty darn good. And they were, at the very least, as clean or cleaner than Vanguard finals week.
Audio is great. You'd think for the production quality that you were going for the video and audio would be at least close to being sync'd. If the audio is the quadline playing an exercise on drum two, you'd think the video wouldn't be them playing the exercise around the drums. Just saying. In the end, who cares. Great video
Vanguard Semi Finals: watch?v=1kxtdfpaWdc Blue Devils Semi Finals: watch?v=FlF01teiPvI#t=04m56s Maybe it's just me but that long roll sounds pretty darn clean. However I heard slightly fuzzy bits in both videos.
You are correct. This mistake, the intentional shaky cam, and the obvious audio lagging behind the video are all evidence this filmmaker is not a drummer.
In the words of Scott Johnson If the line is clean early off in the season something is wrong the book is not challenging or eye catching but there is no reason to hate dude its just drum corp lol
Such a piss clean line. They would've taken drums but Rennick's style makes the beats peak off mid season and they remain similar throughout the year. So fuckin clean for being so early
Are you serious Bd had a way harder book and on finals night was outright cleaner with everything SCV got 5th just because you did not like the show does not mean that they were bad honestly this year SCV didn't have anything that caught the judges eye Rennick did not live up to expectations this year.
love that slightly wet sound from snares... gives the drum so many different attitudes depending on stick placement!!!
with headphones, the shots make me feel like im really there. fantastic audio and video. thanks for posting.
those are the best sounding snares i've ever heard
When you go Dynasty, you don’t go back XD
@@prim7112 you sure don't

Santa Clara - very best by far . Excellent work
o my goodness even clean from the side
absolutely in love with the tuning
Love this line, but the snares' middle fingers piss me off. Lol
One of the cleanest videos i've seen and heard online
this is the best band i have ever seen keep it up!!
Drum Corps.

Santa Clara, Carolina Crown, Phantom, and BD really has some great lines this year!
Cool light leak effects, gives it an indie feel.
THIS SOUNDS AMAZING
Thank you. I was trying to find that quote somewhere because it pretty much sums up how an advanced line should usually be.
good god those stick heights!!!
easily the best snare feature of the year.
such a great understanding of quality of sound and accurate rhythms. Touch and musicality separates these guys from all the others

best dynamics ever
Yay jonny green!!
So good....
it was but Like it when he had the pearl sounding great
Really good with headphones and earbuds :)

so clean :O
audio rocks!
Paul Rennick loves buzz rolls.
Rennick definetly teaches SCV's line...haha
Let's not forget though that the percussion score includes the front ensemble as well.

I totally agree Brandon626
1:35 uhhh is this the real audio? look at the tenors arounds
Ahh, opinions. I don't know, Vanguard's show is my favorite this year, for sure.
they all look so young :O
Is that Jason Schladweiler on the end of the snare line?
Trevy yes
@Emilio Monreal you couldnt be more wrong
can anybody tell what sticks the tenors use, mainly in the video?!?!?!?
thanks
P.S. SCV is a beast
What type of drum sticks are those I want know so I can purchase them
Does anyone know where I can find a printable version of this book?
Seriously. switching to dynasty was a fantastic idea
How are the snare drum heads so shiny?
Also if you were telling me they were dirty early in the season then I would agree, because they were VERY dirty early in the season.
Yes, beautiful audio, but too bad it lags behind the video.
Felt like I had to swat at an arsenal of house flies the whole time.
the video can run fine, doesn't mean what I said isn't right. There are obvious sync issues with video and audio
pauls writing is so tasty
Oh okay thanks. My school's drumline we have the same heads they're not even a year old and they don't shine.
Considering the fact that Paul Rennick teaches their line...
This is at Benedictine University right? It looks familiar
@Chris Spencer lmao
1:13 i see splits, i dont hear them....
You are correct. This mistake, the intentional shaky cam, and the obvious audio lagging behind the video are all evidence this filmmaker is not a drummer.
What's the song at the beginning?
Phantom 2010?
the video ran fine for me
Thats cause they are, mostly 18-21 or so, the age out is at 21 so yea none will look old at all
audio/video not synced, and audio is really low. Also you can stop down a bit when recording video with a dslr
phantom got new uniforms?
What program did you use to make that one slide in the beginning?
what snare sticks are these?
DaXXPuniSHeR FSPR 2's
DaXXPuniSHeR FSPR 2's
that guy at 2:44 looks so weird

Top 2 BD and Bloo
MARS.
those are probably a few weeks old if that
Spock from star trek on fifth bass
hear that dirt??? neither did I
Probably Casella's or Macintoshes
Such a piss clean line. They would've taken drums but Rennick's style makes the beats peak off mid season and they remain similar throughout the year. So fuckin clean for being so early
I mean not really haha,
Yeah, haters, say their book is easy this year. Just do it. Because you'll be wrong.
Pimps. Every last one of them.
they did not tie look it up
They got 4th
Somehow
Should've beaten BD
No bluecoats got second
They needed to keep Bin Laden's killer out of the sun. Poor guy is more red than them shirts.
lol
No they got 5th
Their corp got 5th*
Different styles lol
What.
he doesn't teach there.. he is the section leader
No Bd was oughtright better not robbed
Audio/video sync is pissing me off.
Very well played but this music was way too easy lol. Glad it got beefed up by the end though.
Are you serious Bd had a way harder book and on finals night was outright cleaner with everything SCV got 5th just because you did not like the show does not mean that they were bad honestly this year SCV didn't have anything that caught the judges eye Rennick did not live up to expectations this year.
