I'll add one thing, and ask one thing; here goes. When playing a fast passage like that fast paradiddle-diddle near the beginning or any and every other time you'll ever play passages like this; I've been preaching this since high school in the 90s to post-college; you want to hear every note. Don't crush your inner beats in between the accents. Make everything evenly spaced. For me, I'll ask- speaking of crushes; the buzz-crush section; is there an exercise you would recommend to help me get better at learning that bar?

Hey Scorpio, The only way I got better at the buzz press was practice double strokes really slow but press the 2nd stroke. or Parabuzzle rudiment

Love your videos - thank you so much for each and every one! Do you post PDF’s of the sheet music anywhere?

I dont normally post the sheets as the original writers often sell them and I dont want to take away those small profits.

Hi, yes, this is world class elite drum corps. But it doesn't mean you have to be world class to begin learning it or even just master a few bars 👍

@@FreestyleRudiments and how much would you say this impacts your playing on the drum kit to learn this stuff? Does it translate well to everyday kit playing. Thanks for the reply.

@@goob5568 Not much at all. Of course, it's beautiful to have new artistic ideas in your mind to draw from. But speaking as someone with many years of marching snare background, this focus doesn't turn into much of anything at the kit. It's never totally bad to develop your hands and timing. But if your interest is at the kit, spend your time exploring there and building those ideas while also practicing straightforward singles, doubles, combinations, etc exercises. The very simple, foundational exercises are where the real meat of improvement is found in marching snare playing that will effect everything. These snare solos are a very niche area with a specialized vocabulary that takes time and focus to develop cleanly, and don't have much direct translation to other areas.

@@jedijesses5496thanks mate! I assumed it would give lots more control, precision, variation for fills, many aspects that would benefit kit playing so I'm quite surprised!
